2025 College Football Week Two

Mikey Munn, the young South Dakota cornerback i highlighted last week, had an interception today.

John Nestor, the Minnesota cornerback, was mentioned earlier. he had another dominant showing, picking off two balls today and deflecting another.

there aren’t too many White defensive backs around these days, but the ones who persevere are certainly standing out.

Good to see you here for the last few weeks Jimmy Chitwood. Yes sir the cream always rises to the top! Great showing by these
young men.

Army Safety Collin Matteson made two great back to back plays removing the receiver from the ball in their upset bid of KSU.

EDIT: Matteson with the game sealing INT!

One of the best sequence of plays I have seen a DB play. Really impressive.

In the ASU vs Miss St. Game the Sun Devils have come back from 17 to 0 to now tie the game in the 4th quarter. Worth a look!

has anyone watched the USC-Georgia Southern game?

i tuned in during the third quarter to see GSU cornerback Chance Gamble, and he wasn’t tested at all (though the rest of the secondary is being absolutely shredded). he’s catching a breather now, but i am curious how he did when the game was still in doubt during the first half …

what is worth watching in this matchup, White Lightning?

Sam Leavitt and for that reason only. Leavitt reminds me of Jake Plummer! Actually Miss St. has a great qb with a cannon for an arm. The annoucers were talking about the fact that Blake Shapen can throw a football at very high speed. The velocity and acuracy of his throws is fun to watch. He was supposed to be a mlb baseball player out of high school but changed sports.

"Generational" QB for Michigan looked anything but. Good win for Oklahoma. Mateer is as advertised after people questioned if he could replicate last year's success.

BC QB Dylan Lonergan putting on a clinic vs Mich St. They are in 2 OT currently.

Kuck Herbstreit wouldn’t direct any criticism toward the “Generational Talent” when asked by his partner about the performance, specifically regarding his poor accuracy after starting the game going 4 for 5 passing (he would complete just 5 of his remaining 19 attempts) … Kuck Herbstreit placed the blame on literally everyone else on the Michigan offense rather than call a spade a spade. i wish nothing good for either party this season.

It's depressing to think of how many jobs over the next six or seven years will be determined by this dreadlocked teenager's football performances. People will be hired and fired with the primary responsibility of coaxing out greatness. He gets paid the same either way, tryouts are over, he's the starter until he's a first round pick, then it will be the same dynamic in the NFL.

Mateer looked good and made some great plays. His gracious post-game interview makes him all the more easy to root for.

true freshman wideout Carter Pabst caught the first pass of his collegiate career in the first quarter of tonight’s game for Washington State. hopefully it’s the first of many!

the 6-foot-1 playmaker with 10.8 100-meter speed caught 54 touchdown passes in his high school career, a record for the state of Kansas (he played in the 5A class), yet he wasn’t recruited by a single FBS team. instead, he had committed to South Dakota State, but then he changed his commitment when SDSU’s coach took over at WSU.

let’s go, Washington State (perhaps?) Whitecats!

perhaps Stanford’s poor use of the talent on their roster is the reason they’ve finished 3-9 for the past three years in a row.

take, for example, the lack of offensive touches for Bryce Farrell. listed as a wide receiver, the 5-foot-10 speedster has rarely been thrown to. primarily used as a kick returner, the sixth-year Farrell has also been allowed to run a handful of jet sweeps. why is this significant?

Farrell ran a 10.38 100-meters in high school. why couldn’t Stanford find a way to utilize this rare speed more effectively? if he’s not a good receiver, then perhaps he should be playing corner … but i guess that’s not an option.

RIGHT! So, Michigan can't find another QB other than an 18 year old with moderate talent at best to start against Mateer at Oklahoma?
Underwood at OU- 9/24 OTD's. 3 carries -1 yard!

Manning at OSU- 17/30 1 TD pass-10/38 yards rushing.

Watching ESPN this morning and Underwood pretty much getting a pass unlike Manning.

Aside from one mistake, Mateer looked great! Accounting for 344 yards total offense a 3 TD's!

Funny how that works. Underwood looked overwhelmed against the Oklahoma defense. Credit to Venables who called a great game. LB Owen Heinecke made some big time plays last night and also noticed DE Taylor Wein on the field for the Sooners.

Kanak had a really good game too. Herbie never mentioned that Kanak was an elite athlete in HS.

There was a graphic of the Oklahoma QBs that have been sent to the NFL. Cuck Riley is responsible for 5 of them, 4 of which are black and starting today. He's really the epitome of the new aged beta cuck coach and is up there with Urban Meyer. USC started strong these first two games but I expect like every Lincoln Riley team for them to start struggling down the stretch. He's the biggest active caste POS coach in the college game.

I'll eat some crow on Stanford. QB Ben Gulbranson has struggled. I thought he would bring stability but he has not, he's been a turnover machine. I'd give him two more games and then put in the sophomore QB Dylan Rizk who played well last season for UCF down the stretch.

At least DL Clay Patterson is playing well. 3 sacks so far through 2 games.

And back to Bryce Farrell. We all know why he was never given a shot to develop at WR or even move to cornerback!

I watched some of 1st half and Stanford is a shell of what it was a decade ago. It was encouraging to see Andrew Luck on the sideline chirping and cheering on his guys. Be interesting to see if he eventually takes over for Reich or do they like the current arrangement, minus the Ls that are piling up.

Perfect example of Afflete privilege. They were ready to throw Archie to the Wolves after one week, Underwood is a brother though so he gets treated with little kid gloves. Don’t want to hurt his fragile 10 million dollar ego. Underwood was also screaming at a RB on the sidelines after a miscue, he’s obviously a great fuggin leader too. Lol

Things must be getting desperate already in Boulder for Coach Slime. Needs 3rd string WT to bail out the team after the nappy-headed anointees have flopped early and often. Hahaha.

Also, is there any criticism of "potential top 10 pick" LaNorris Sellers yesterday? He was the sh1ts against a cupcake. 128 passing yards and 23 rushing yards on 8 carries. SC only put the game away with 2 punt return TDs and a fumble returned for a TD. The offense looked anemic.

Great work as always man!

Just one to add. The other New Mexico WR transfer, Ryan Davis, was the leading receiver for #25 Utah. 6/58/1. Nice to see both him and Wysong having initial success after transferring up.
