2024 NFL Wild Card Round

Yes, that is the silver lining. Lions get the Skins instead of the Vikings or Rams. I like the Lions, Vikings and Rams in that order so I want to see 2 of them face in the NFC Championship. We have that possibility now.

Regarding the Bucs, other than the fumbled handoff, the offense played great. The reason they lost is that Washington had a huge time of possession advantage. That is a Washington strength. A methodical ground and pound / dink and dunk offense that can produce long drives. I think the key for the Lions and their explosive offense will be to jump out to an early lead. Washington is not built to play from behind and rip off huge yard play after play.

Really looking forward to tonight’s game. It’s a rare one in the NFL where I can enjoy the action and be pretty satisfied with whomever wins.

Washington certainly has had an extraordinary number of "miracle" and near-miracle wins this year. Everything's gone right for them including Jayden Daniels' rookie season but experience tells me to be patient and see if the team improves or regresses next season. My expectation is the latter.

It's a shame that McCaffrey is now just becoming a special teams guys on returns. He did have 2 returns for a 31 yard average today. I hate seeing Washington waste his talent. He is ignored even more than Alec Pierce when he plays wide receiver. Hope the Commies lose soon. They should as I don't think anyone here sees them getting out of the next round of the playoffs.

Packers fans that I know (besides wile, of course) eat up what the MSM says about him, that he's the latest great Packers QB in line after Favre and Rodgers. A continuation, every bit as good!
I usually give a smirk or outright laugh when I ask where they read or heard that when it comes to listening to someone spew the narrative. I kind of live my life by what Solzhenitsyn wrote about living not by lies as to not repeat them, but I'm above average with rhetoric so dealing with such people is fairly easy if I so choose.

Anyway about Love he is serviceable and the Packers could win with him as QB as football being a team sport that IMO depends on good coaching. Take Aaron Rodgers I swear he could never beat a team that could pressure with 4 and drop seven, and I've thought that since 2011 when the 15-1 offensive juggernaught Packers fell to the Giants since they had a great pass rush and good cover. So the next decade or so I always came to the conclusion that when they faced such a team they would lose at worst or not cover.

I checked the final stats of the Packers' game Kraft 5 targets 5 receptions 26 yards receiving, that might be a clue to the Packers listless O yesterday.

He'll have a job for life installing the same offense for a revolving door of flashy black quarterbacks.

Daniels seemed to be locked onto his first read for quite a few of this throws. Proving the point he is a one read and run QB. The fact these types of offenses are somehow still effective 12 years after being pushed into the league speaks to either the incompetence of defensive coordinators, poor defensive players or a manipulation of rules to allow the offense to be run unfettered. I do believe that the Jets in 2012/2013 start collapsing the pocket and hitting both the RB and QB to stop the spread option, not sure why this is still not the case. Could be the asinine protect the QB at all costs rule which again puts offenses at an advantage.

Impressive opening drive for the Rams. Higbee had two catches, Kupp had none and was only on the field for about half the snaps. . .

Have to wonder if Kupp is just on a pitch count this season. I hope he is able to get healthy in the offseason.

Rams coming out hot, have Vikings on their heels.

Weak rough in call on Limmer.

Kupp seems to be a non-factor by virtue of the scheme. Higbee is getting a lot of the volume catches that previous went his way + Puka is the clear #1. I have to assume it's injury related because he was productive earlier this year.

Cashman TD on a fumble recovery.
Will it hold up?

No.......It was overturned......

Higbee's injured (so what else is new), we'll see if the Rams compensate by getting Kupp involved.

I used to like Troy Aikman. Now he's headache.

Starting to think kupp slept with stafford’s wife or something. The way he is being phased out of the offense is insane.

He wasn't on the injury report any of those weeks and a lot of teams will list players as "questionable" if they have as much as a hangnail. It's a mystery, either he's still not 100% or for whatever reasons they've demoted him. He certainly looked very fast on his 29 yard catch.

Finally something for Kupp as he bails out a terrible throw from Stafford. He's surely incurring someone's petty wrath right now with zero first-half targets and fullback duty.
