Minnesota needs to run more. They're having success running. Passing game just isn't working at all.

Credit to the Lions defense. They have done a good job tonight. Good to see Anzalone back out there as well. Lions have to be the most complete team in the league.

My only big gripe is that the Rams rested starters instead of playing for the win. They fell from #3 to #4 and now have to face a 14 win team instead of paper-tiger Washington. Washington will be a good matchup now for the Bucs. Washington only won 1 game against a playoff team (Eagles). They lost to TB, Pitt, Philly and Baltimore. They mostly beat bad teams to get to 12 wins.
Agreed, this concept of tanking the last game never works out. It kills momentum as well as ensures a worse match up. Mind-boggling coaches still opt for it.

As a lifelong half-hearted Lions fan, a full-throated CF fan, and also an aristocrat who is above sport, I'm very glad that the Lions are the top conference dogs.

Head coach Dan Campbell seems to be one of these wonderful 1/100 personalities that clicks at the right level for a pro football roster. OC Ben Johnson turned down offers last year and will have larger offers for more money this year. So will Aaron Glenn, the black ex-Jets DB who has piecemealed together some super results.

(The Lions had to dump an expensive CB last offseason over allegations that he was doing some off-field beating. Bad press! Another team picked him up, which was good cap management on their part, absent the whole beating thing (not of men).)

Anzalone played really well in his return from injury - perhaps the best indication of the night for Detroit's defense.

Anyway, I wanted to say, Aaron Glenn has done a great job in his role and will be considered for HC. No one I read online says "he will be considered because he is one of the best BLACK coordinators." But frankly, he will get so many looks because he is one of the best perceived black coordinators. Yet, the websites can't report this! I mean, it's gonna be a stretch to give him a gig, he's another Jerod Mayo, but maybe he uses the white backups he knows about with his Lions expertise.... just spitballing here, hey!

Another possible siting of Big Unreal, he is a long suffering Vikings fan driven to wild speculation as witnessed in that entry on his blog. FTR I view smarties as useful but often insufferable because how do you know a right wing smarty is a smarty because within minutes of interacting with them they will inform you of their high IQs and academic attainments.

Lions have looked good and that is without Hutch and Cominsky.

I do love their snow patrol of LBs, and of course Goff, Laporta, and a snowplow OL helps.

Supposedly Cooper Rush would get a $500k bonus if he played 55% of the snaps this year. He currently sits at 52.5%. Rush actually outplayed Prescott and the thanks he gets is being out $500k and letting Jerrah get his negrah QB out there. Rooting for Lance to cement himself with Jamarcus Russell and soon to be Anthony Richardson as the worst picks of all time.
So I alluded to a hypothetical situation about what would happen if a black player had bonuses on the line. Well no need for that when we’ve got the real thing. And not a mere 500K, but 6 million on the line. Did the Seahawks bench Geno to save the money and also see what they’ve got in youngster Sam Howell? After all, they were eliminated from the playoffs and losing would have been better for draft position then winning. N*gga please! You can only deny WT bonus opportunities in the current year goy.

So Tyreek Hill refused to play the final two possessions of the Dolphins loss to the Jets yesterday despite the fact his team was still in playoff contention. Evidently he was upset his team probably wasn't going to make the playoffs for the first time in his career so he didn't feel like playing the rest of the game. Maybe he was also upset about his "paltry" $106 mil contract for five years. What a prima donna. Just unbelievable. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/43303355/hill-hints-potential-exit-miami-dolphins-loss
