2024 NFL Week 15

Good post, I also watched both games as I had fantasy football teams in the playoffs. Desmond Ridder may be the worst QB I've ever seen. As a couple of sports media know-nothings around here used to say of Robert Spillane when he was with the Steelers and before he turned into one of the top LBs in the league after getting an opportunity with the Raiders, "He belongs nowhere near an NFL field."

Same can be said of Williams. To be fair I never judge QBs too harshly in their rookie years, but Williams obviously needs a lot of coaching to draw out his "searing explosiveness" (a new and funny Caste term from Snowplow's post above). Basic reading of an NFL defense at this point is a foreign concept to him. (And to be fair again, Kirk Cousins was also terrible last night, he's had a nice career but all QBs and athletes eventually start losing it.)

It's also clear how dumbed down coaches and coaching in general are. Only a small number of NFL franchises seem to have a head coach and assistant coaches capable of developing quarterbacks. I'm sure it's no better at the other, less important positions. And how hard can the preferred NFL player, usually from a ghetto with no father in his life, be coached anyway? The endless penalties and stupid plays is testimony to that.

As Freethinker posted we seemed to have taken a giant step toward Idiocracy during the Biden regime, which is not only incomprehensibly corrupt but spectacularly incompetent. It's a DEI/CRT/affirmative action nightmare that the NFL embraced long ago and all of society suffers from it. And many Whites are also in bad shape after generations of hardcore leftist propaganda pushing dysgenic ways of life and thinking and generations of progressively dumbed down teachers "educating" our children.

The product was terrible last night. I realized again that the only reason I still follow the NFL is because I play fantasy football as I would never waste my time otherwise and will probably cut way back on that time-wasting hobby as the endless injuries make partaking in it far more of a chore than something I enjoy. You draft a team before the season starts and then spend the season trying to replace most of the guys you drafted due to an endless carousel of hamstring pulls, sprained ankles, concussions, broken bones, blown out knees, etc., etc.

My highlight from last night was listening to Troy Aikman, who subtly remains the best booth analyst out there.
Good post as well. I didn’t even want to mention Ridder as he’s so terrible I almost feel bad for him. He’s a 3rd string QB on the team with the league’s worst record, so I think that the writing is on the wall for him, even in the Caste NFL.

Regarding Williams, I’ve been trying to be as objective as I can because I agree about the rookie struggles too. However it’s just so hard to see how any scout could honestly see him as a “generational prospect”. To me, he’s closer to a project like Anthony Richardson than a sure thing like Andrew Luck was all those years ago. The other thing that seems to be rarely talked about by the corporate media is the plethora of offensive weapons that the Bear’s have surrounded him with. This is no Bryce Young situation. Keenan Allen and DJ Moore have 10 thousand yard seasons between them. Rome Oduze was a top 10 pick coming off a monster college career. RB Swift and TE Kmet are both above league average for their positions. Yet this offense struggles to score and has had entire halves where they muster under 100 yards. Even with a lousy offensive line, a competent QB could move the chains utilizing these guys. If we again wanted to be generous to Caleb, I would admit that his coaches and coordinators only have a few more IQ points then him. There’s a lot of incompetent morons to blame in the Windy City (enjoy the schadenfreude @wile).

Besides Kevin Butler I never cheer against Bears players, but the fans are a special kind of stupid. Not the worst in the NFL but still just sad.

Great comments by everyone. It's been a frustrating year in terms of injuries. Injuries make the NFL that much more unwatchable because 9 times out of 10 some non-descript black backfills the position. The NFL seems hell bent on ignoring White athletes as much as possible. The White RB situation with 4 potential contributors amounting to just about nothing has also been frustrating yet predictable. The preseason hope we carry for these players almost always does not carry over to the regular season. At this point no one can convince that the best players play. The NFL product is increasingly watered down with every team running the same offense with little variation. I'd argue that college football is more enjoyable to watch at this point but NIL is taking a toll on college football as well.

Darnold has been fun to watch, a true resurgence for a still young QB at 27 years old. Stories like his and Mayfield just prove the sheer amount of incompetence and lack of player development that runs rampant in the NFL. Rule changes since 2004 and the 2011 Collective Bargaining agreement which limited actual football practice are huge reasons why the product isn't as good. The low IQ fans do not care though it seems and continue to eat it up.

Agreed, really bothered me how Williams was hailed as a generational talent (seemingly a “generational” black QB) and he was nothing but a poor project for a prospect. Poor leadership, strong but scattershot arm, ability to progress through his reads.

The media and league praise for a bum like him, with all the weapons available to him, while blasting Levis or Darnold or countless other better white QBs in far worse situations is infuriating.

The one thing the American managerial elite does extremely well is PR. They spew it, most often effectively and the conservatives/right wingers chase after them trying to correct them.

I skip all that crap, because more often than not they don't even believe their own nonsense so why should I. Life is much better this way.

I would say this is one of the worst seasons ever. One thing hurting my interest is the lack of a flagship team. The Niners were to be that this year but damn those injuries.

That said I do get some enjoyment out of watching things fall apart. Such as this last elections. Seeing the Democrats and woke agenda going down the tubes (albeit probably just temporarily) has been very satisfying. If the nfl is headed that way so be it. It's an interesting process to observe.
