This week starts off with a cold, windy and potentially snowy AFC North battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns. Someone once coined the phrase "mistake by the lake" to describe Cleveland. I've never been there besides driving through late at night so I don't know if that is true of the city. But it most certainly is of their NFL team! In addition to being a lousy 2-8 team, they still only sport their 4/5 white o-line as a positive. They HAVE added QB Bailey Zappe and TE Geoff Swaim to the active roster, but other than those two who will likely not see the field, it's diversity all around!

The Steelers are not much better. They've only got two palefaces starting on the o-line in C Zach Frazier and RG Mason McCormick. However they do have two white WR's on the active roster in Scotty Miller and Ben Skowronek. Always hoping for lots of injuries so that these two speedsters can try to snag passes from QBM Russell Wilson. Defense features T.J. Watt, arguably the best defensive player in the entire NFL along with LB's Payton Wilson and Nick Herbig. Wilson and Herbig don't start, but seem to see quite a bit of action (esp. Wilson).

Weather should be a factor here, so despite the quota matchup it might be fun to watch. Crab Legs vs. the Midget!

Interesting thing about Wilson, is that he’s the same QB that he was in Denver. In fact he actually had a better completion percentage, QB rating and QBR last year. Yet that performance got him bench and driven out of town. This year he’s winning games since the supporting talent is better. In Denver, he was expected to raise the level of talent around him and get wins. So good game managing QB but not a star who elevates others.

Darnell Washington has been playing as many snaps as Freiermuth and is slowly being used more and more in the passing game rather than just being used as a blocker. Unfortunately could be a slow motion changing of the guard taking place at TE.

Boswell has supplanted Tucker as the best kicker in the league, at least for this season. Already has 30 FGs and leads the league in scoring.

Just tuned in to see two ultra-accurate passers with only four incompletions between them. Wilson with 147 yards already, figured it must be a shootout! What?? 10-3? I love the NFL offensive revolution!

Garrett with a hat trick lol.

Well he is playing against a washed Wilson. @Freethinker had a great post above regarding Wilson (this applies to Fields too). The Steelers defense is been playing very well this year and keeping games close/running the ball well. If Cleveland goes up 17-3 not sure the Steelers are built to come back from that offensively.

"Moonball" Wilson according to Tony Gonzalez. Not a fan of either of these teams and especially their QB corps. Would be nice to see T.J. go off a little bit though.

No doubt just dislike him immensely and he’s having a good game. Fuel for our enemies

I haven't read anywhere that anyone still regards Wilson as a superstar. He was an obvious upgrade over Fields. The offense was instantly better with the team scoring 109 points in his four starts, all wins. He still throws a nice deep ball and overall has been an efficient game manager, exactly what they've asked him to do.

Not watching the game. Do they refer to Wilson as a "game manager"?

Unless Watt has a big second half, we'll once again be treated to Garrett's classless trash talking in the media about T. J. I saw Garrett mouthing F you after his second sack, was probably directed toward Watt. Maybe he'll even search him out after the game and attack him and then claim Watt called him the n-word, like he falsely accused Mason Rudolph of doing after he swung his helmet at him.

I will admit that 2024 Jameis has been, if nothing else, an entertaining interview and a sympathetic character.

He seems to have matured into a jovial, good natured guy. A bit “simple” but probably enjoyable to be around. His youthful misdeeds, like stealing crab legs, likely reflect that lack of intelligence. Not that I’m rooting for him in any way, but he’s light years better than many of the hardened thugs who populate NFL rosters.

Brock Purdy is out for Week 12 with an injury to his right throwing shoulder.
