2024 NFL Divisional Playoff Round

Lions with an awful half, reminiscent of the game against the Texans earlier in the year on national television. Hopefully they do what they did that game. Regroup at the half, play better and complete the comeback.
Detroit has had a bad, injury-riddled defense for the last half of the season. It was just a mirage when it looked great against the Vikings as unfortunately the Vikings went into an inexplicable nosedive their last two games, similar to a number of Mike Tomlin coached teams.

I think the Lions are giving way too much respect to Daniels' legs. He's not particularly elusive as a runner. Just play him straight up and accept that he might clip a few runs, it's certainly preferable to what they're doing now.

Mahomes is the biggest beneficiary of questionable calls since he became starter and it's not close. It's undeniable and has been tracked going back years on this site. Even if we ignore that fact the way he flops on the field and comes up looking for a penalty every chance he can just makes him very easy to root against. On top of that all the media want him to replace Brady as the best QB of all time is just all time insanity - not to mention the other QB greats that were all much better players than he is - Montana, Marino, Elway, Peyton Manning, Rivers, Roethlisberger, Brees etc. Without even bringing race into the equation Mahomes is to an extent manufactured marketing by the league.

I'm just following up on your assessment. I would say Mahomes has plenty of physical and mental skills. To win three and have a good chance to make it four requires some exceptional skills, does it not?
I don't think it takes exceptional skills to win multiple Super Bowls. If that was all it took, Dan Marino and Sonny Jurgensen would have a dozen championships between them. Jim Plunkett has two championships. Was he exceptionally skilled?

Maybe. His career playoff stats are 472 completions on 697 attempts (67.7%), 5,312 yards, 42 tds, 6 int's, 105.6 rating. Definitely journeyman numbers. Most average NFL starters (even backups) could do that, no sweat.

Ridiculous, I see BQDS is back in full foolish bloom.

I forgot to add that the only reason for the above numbers even being close to what they are is because ALL of the calls go his way, no matter what. We won't talk about a CF favorite like Josh Allen statically getting more roughing calls or anything like that. That would be rayciss.

Don't forget, Tom Brady and the Patriots never got any favorable calls. Unfortunately, sufferers of BQDS can't be reasoned with, similar to sufferers of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Mahomes is exceptionally skilled. To infer otherwise is denial.

That being said, Super Bowl wins are much more about the whole team - all three phases - and coaching than quarterback play.

Exceptionally skilled compared to whom? Every QB that ever played? If so, I could see that. But exceptionally skilled compared to the all-time greats people claim he's better than? Not a chance.

Other than win 3 Super Bowls and possibly a third in a row in a few weeks.
....and is two wins away from becoming the youngest, 29 years old, QB ever to win four Super Bowls!! Tying him with Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw for second all time.
I remember Bradshaw was poked fun at for lack of intelligence, but he made up for it with his physical ability. Montana and Brady for lack of physical skills made it up with their intelligence. It's absurd. All three had a certain amount of both mental and physical ability. Just used it in different ways. Mahomes has it as well. He's physically gifted and pretty darn intelligent as well.

It IS okay to root against black QB's. Like look at the game on now. I absolutely despise Daniels and his playing style. I want him to lose. Just like tomorrow when Jackson plays. I'm not going to say that they suck, however. I WANT them to suck though.

Now back to this game, 1 possession game, just need the D to play disciplined to stop the Commies offense.

Luke McCaffrey seems to be entirely phased out. How many weeks since he has seen a pass his way? And this a guy who has one of the best separation marks in the entire league.

Context matters. The talent pool is as diluted as ever, the NFL heavily tilts in favor of the offense and has done so progressively since 2004. Do you really think Mahomes would be doing half the stuff he can get away with in earlier eras? If anything everyone here should be completely critical of Mahomes and his flopping/looking for flags after every play.

Would any? Jared Goff? Josh Allen? Joe Burrow? Every QB in the league, white or black, plays against the same diluted talent pool. So by that logic, every QB with a pulse should have similar or better numbers than Kermit, right?

Sam LaPorta is currently being underutilized, why is Goff throwing the ball to Amon-Ra over the tight end thats actually been making plays.

Also Anzalone has been a beast this game, 9 solo tackles

If Mahomes was White instead of half White you'd be a big time fan. It's no more complicated than that. What you have is an irrational vendetta against all Black QBs. I've asked you many times what the strategy of your crusade against Black QBs is and you've never answered -- because there is no strategy. You simply want to use Caste Football to let everyone know you dislike all Black QBs and think they all suck, every last one of them.

Caste Football is here primarily to root for White athletes in all sports, but you and some others want the primary focus to be about rooting against Black QBs, to obsess about them all the time. And after ten years of your "crusade" that has accomplished nothing other than harm CF's credibility, I really have had enough of it.
