his 4 best 100 times were all achieved in 2018, 5 years ago. His 4 best 200m times were recent, all in 2021 and 2022. I think he's been hedging his bets because he can't start well. The 200s don't need the same lighting reaction from the blocks. It also means he's not starting side by side with anyone else so not direct pressure from a slower start. He's probably been guided to try 200 instead of 100 because they can't get him to start and accelerate with the world's best.
I'm thinking HE THINKS he's not a 100m chance in big meets.

I actually can't think of a white sprinter who can match it with the best for the first 20m AND finish strongly too.
Can anyone else?

At the moment we don't have anyone at the highest elite level among men but yes we need more guys to believe in themselves. This year
in America we had 2 white high school males run 10.15 wind legal. Brody Buffington and Gatlin Bair. Bair did it twice in one weekend. That
alone shows we have guys that can do as the kids are only 16 to 18 years of age. We lost so many men to other sports. Regardless I do see
some slight improvement more and more from the younger generation. Hope it's just the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah, I didn't know Hartman was an import :(
Warholm won the 400 hurdles in 46.51 for the WL and a SB. Kaczmarek won the women's 400 in 49.63, looks like Sydney backed out.
the ladies in the flat 400m are MOVING this year. in the above contest, four athletes finished in under 50 seconds, including the winner Kaczmarek and third place Klaver.

here’s video of Kaczmarek’s win, where she shows off tremendous speed stamina down the home stretch, passing FOUR athletes over the last 50 meters:

and here is Warholm’s outstanding performance, where American CJ Allen takes third:

in perhaps the biggest upset/surprise of the season thus far, Mondo lost a pole vault competition in the Diamond League.

American Chris Nilsen earned the win over the world’s best in Monaco.

I the Diamond League Meet in London, England today there was some very fast times. The Mens 4 x 100 Relay was great to watch.

Japan won in a new world lead with a time of 37.80! They are always a medal threat with many good sprinters and great team work!

The United Kingdom Teams took 2nd and 3rd Place.

The third place U.K. Mens Relay Team was all white guys. Adam Gemeli, Oliver Bromby, Richard Kilty and Joe Ferguson. With Gemeli
and Kilty being very old this was still a fantastic result. Nice to see this team put up a fast time of 38.14 for a new seasons best for them!

Germany finished in 4th and Switzerland in 5th.

Femke Bol was dominant again today running a new World Leading time of 51.45! Also a new Area Record and
a Diamond League Record. Just imagine if Femke Bol and Karsten Warholm got married and had kids?

Kilty's nearly 34 now so he's still putting the work in. His wife Darya still competes. Their baby must be timing them by now

and the kids wouldn't train as they were told :sisi1. This time almost equals Sidney's 2022 US champs WR from a year ago. Can't wait to see them compete in Budapest

Even without Lamont Marcell Jacobs the Italian 4 x 100 Relay team scorched the track with a World Champs Qualifying time
of 38.04! Pretty fly for 4 white guys! Just missed a sub 38 second relay but still the 3rd fastest time in Italian History!

I don't understand why Filippo Tortu runs sizzling times in the relays and then ignores the 100 the majority of the time. Starts can be
fixed and he is only 24. For him and his coach to rarely run the 100 and not even run the 200 much either is just so strange. Again I
will say that he would be better off with a new coach. A coach can make or break a sprinters career!

Interesting that Tortu was moved from the anchor to the 2nd position, and Ceccarelli is now running the anchor leg.

As far as I know the reason that happened is they want the quickest guy as the last anchor. With Lamont M. Jacobs
out with injury most of the summer it makes sense as Ceccarelli the their 2nd fastest sprinter over 100 meters at the
moment. Besides Tortu has to race more to deserve to continue running the relay anchor. He has a slight shoulder injury
currently but that was very recent. Tortu needs to take track more seriously in my opinion.

Here is a young 18 years old sprinter from Denmark. Valentin Jensen set the all time Denmark Under 20 100 Meters National Record.
He already has run a 10.33 +0,9 wind this summer. One to watch in the future.

17 year old Marek Zakrzewski won the Under 20 Polish Champs a week ago. He just missed a major personal best as
he ran a time of 10.16 +2.4! Just a tad less wind and it would have counted. This kid has a very bright future ahead of him!

This is a big week for many nations with their national championships. A few are Canada, France, Spain, Poland and Italy. You also have
the South American Championships.

The two we will watch the closest is the Polish and the Italian Championships. The Polish Champs is July 27th to July 29th.
The Italian Championships will be from July 28th to July 30th. Anxious to see how Kopec and Ceccarelli do among many
others. I have a feeling we might see 17 year old Marek Zakzrewski make an impact if he enters. He might not be allowed since
he isn't 18 till December. I expect this kid to be as good or better than Dominik Kopec in the next 4 to 6 years!

In the Italian Championships Filippo Tortu will be in the 200 but not the 100. His coach is an idiot. Other than Ceccarelli he would be
the favorite. Guess his 100 days are over unless he moves to a new coach. What a sad situation! So young and washed up due to how
he has been handled in my opinion.

From a meet today in Austria:

David Morgan Harrison took 1st place in 10.10 (2.9w)
Marcus Fuchs 2nd in 10.14
Ippei Takeda 3rd in 10.16
Elliot Jones 4th in 10.20

David Morgan Harrison was the British Universities Champion in the 60m, 100m, and 200m this year.
However he DQ'd at the UK Championships.
He is just 21 yrs old.

Great update jacknyc. Yes 21 year old David Morgan Harrison he is very talented. His brother is also very fast so this
family has sprinting in their genes! Great result despite the wind.
