Dominec Kopek of Poland opened up his season with a fine 10.24 +0.1 wind. His p.b. is 10.20 from last year so he should easily break it soon.

Patrizia Van Der Weken ran a fine 11.12 +0.6 today! Outstanding start for her outdoor campaign.

Hassan Taftian ran a 10.12 just over the allowable win today in a win for him. The wind was 2.1

Mark my Words Guys. Hernik Larsson is gonna have a great season. He wants to be a role model for young sprinters
growing up there. Sweden just put Henrik Larsson on the Hall of Fame for breaking the 60 meters Swedish Record. He
is gonna smash his 10.20 personal best this year. Just watch!

After the 2023 European Indoor Championships Success, the Swedish 60 Meters National Record Holder takes his place in
the Wall of Fame! Henrik Larsson "wants to be a role model".

I think liffting weights can really benefit a sprinters, but Larsson almost looks too muscular.

watching Galinas race I noticed right away he was abit slow out of the blocks, he really accelerated in his drive phase and his top end was very fast, nice upright technique, looks alot like Tortu in that aspect. He will definitely go sub 10 soon in good conditions. He is very lean and not a ton of muscled weight on his frame.

Excellent point Finn_Track. I don't think I've ever seen anyone in tights run a sub 10. IF I have it's been a very long time and I don't recall it.
The kid runs like Tortu but also like Armand Van Der Walt the 19 year old of South Africa who I have high hopes for as well.

On Friday June 2nd, 2023 we will have the Rome Diamond League Meet. This Track Meet has so many big names. Too many to mention
but we will also finally get to see Samuel Ceccarelli competing over the 100 meters for the first time this season coming off his incredible
gold medal at the 2023 European Indoor Championships over 60 meters. Ceccarelli ran a 6.47 in the semi finals following it up with a
6.48 in the finals to win the championship gold medal as the fastest sprinter in all of Europe! It's going to be like fireworks as no one knows
what to expect over the 100 meters. Anything 10.20 or faster and I'm happy as it's his first race.

Oh and I almost forgot to mention this. Rohan Browning will be in the 100 meters too. Could be his first sub 10!

We will also see Filippo Tortu in the 200 meters against a stacked field. These lineups in most of the races are similar to major championships! We could see some incredible times in Rome! Hoping all of our men and women shine bright like the lights!

Even in the Womens 100 Meters we have Abby Steiner, Jenny Prandinni and Gina Luckenkemper!

Lukenkemper in 10.99! Prandinni runs a 11.11.

Renan Gallina (in IAAF records he is Renan Correa) - his run had a perfect +1.9mps tailwind but was still a great run for a 19 year old.
But look at the stats from his last year when he was just 18. As W/L noted, at 18 1/2 he ran a legal 20.12/200m

Here's a recent 100m run. He is really someone to watch. He would have a much greater chance of making in a Brazilian team (and soon) compared to a young American of equal talent making this country's team.
He really floats along and seems to have a very short contact time

His build and running style do remind me of Lemaitre.
But also like Lemaitre, he seems very winded - goes down on his knees - after the 200m race.
A very good prospect nonetheless.

I just noticed that Hassan Taftian ran a 10.14 wind legal in the finals in France a couple of days ago. I knew he ran a 10.12 +2.1
wind which was barely over the limit but he came back an hour later in the final and won. Nice wind to help him but still impressive
to run that fast 2 times in such a short period of time. I hope he is primed for a big season.

I love your contagious enthusiasm W/L. I'm a bit more of the opinion his form may still be a metre down at this time. Otherwise I'm not sure he could hold onto his peak for another 11 weeks till Budapest. But who knows what the weather and wind have in store

How sad. This meet is being talked about everywhere as one of the biggest non championship meets of the year. Oh well. Hope
no one gets hurt. The spikes for wet weather do a really good job most of the time but the times will be slower.

I just double checked - happily the 100m is close to 10pm and there was no rain predicted for the 2 hours prior plus a gentle wind. Temperature will be coming down to about 22C but feel a bit warmer (due to slow cooling of the track from 27C). 67% humidity.
It's not happening in Rome but in Firenze, 250-280kms further north.
If conditions are a bit unhelpful we will still gain by seeing the relative distances between the sprinters

Femke Bol sets a New Rome Diamond League Meet Record and a new world lead today. She won the 400 meter hurdles
in a blazing time of 52.43 to win by almost 1 full second over the next closest sprinter. She is incredible.


Sadly in the mens 200 meters Filippo Tortu looked average finishing in 4th place running a pedestrian time of 20.41 The kid
might need a new coach. At 24 years of age he is running like an old sprinter with nothing left in the tank. Sad to watch.

Gina Luckenkemper finished in 2nd in the womens 100 meters. She ran a time of 11.09! Not bad as her last 3 races have
been a 11.03, 11.00 and today 11.09! She is just so talented and I'm excited to see what she will do later this summer!

Devon Allen finished in 3rd place in the 110 hurdles running a time of 13.19 which is a seasons best. He is off to a slower start
probably due to his nfl attempt and maybe his age as he is in his 30s now. Still a good performance none the less.
