what a TOUGH break for Devon Allen! i don’t think i’ve ever seen a false start like that before ... so disappointed for him, especially after the year he’s had.

on the other hand, SUPER happy for Cunningham to get the silver and the Spaniard to set a personal-best to get the bronze.

Jamaica goes 1-2-3 in the women’s 100m ... how does anyone think (just like with the men’s side) these athletes are running clean with the times they’re dropping?

Never in my life have I seen an track athlete disqualified for a 1/1000th of a second false start. For Devon Allen to lose his father 2 weeks ago and now this is beyond unfair. I truely believe he would have won. I'm devasated for Allen as he has had
the season of his life and is the only hurdler in the world to run under 13 seconds this year. So sad. At least he has money, fame and he will be playing in for the Eagles in the NFL this fall but this was not right. May his dad rest in peace.

Stoked for Cunninham and Martinez. It was a weird final with 2 guys missing but a silver and a bronze medal in the world champioships is amazing!

The 3 Americans who went 1-2- in the mens 100m definitely using especially Kerley. Allen should not have been DQ'd but his excuse was it was loud yet Holloway had just asked for quiet and nobody else jumped. Unfortunately rules are rules and sometime they suck. I think Allen's complaining took its toll on Cunningham as he (even running 13.08) looked off, his start was slower than normal and that cost him the win. The Brit Zeller ran very slow but yah gotta like the fact he made the final after a very long college season.

I have to mention that the American Fisher who placed 4th in the mens 10,000m has a huge upside to his game, nearly got 3rd closing fast against 3 ped users. I see him winning these races very soon and will shock the African distance running community.

Crouser off his game except for 2 throws beats Kovacs again. Gotta love the Italian with flair "Stud Muffin" socks and a very fashionable moustache.

Glad Morris placed behind Katie, cant stand Morris. Was hoping the Aussie Kennedy could pull off the miracle vault but she won bronze on the world stage.

The games aren't the same without the Russians.......

With Parchment scratching himself while warming up and then the Allen dq the hurdles final had a last man standing feeling rather than a championship final. As others stated Cunningham had to sit along time in the blocks and the nerves may have got to him as this race was way off the form he had shown all season.

I heard stories that the blocks that the championships are using could be inaccurate and to dq somebody for 1/1000 of a violation is pretty heavy handed considering obvious dopers are running wild in these championships.

PS, 3 high profile athletes have tested positive leading into the games the biggest name is Nigel Amos who tested positive for a SARM but Randolph Ross who was viewed as the "future" of the 400m dash was suspended for a whereabouts violation and Lawrence Cherono a Kenyan marathon runner who tested positive for a blood boosting drug. If you are going to get popped and you know it you might as well hide in a closet like Ross as it seems that WADA doesn't take this is as serious as failing a test. Christian Coleman is proof of this as he was competing this year instead of sitting out up to 4 years after having a whereabouts violation last year.

Tortu looked good in the men’s 200m, while Steiner continues to look like the one to beat for the women’s. Prandini also looks to be a contender for a medal.

Tortu looked beyond good as he looked in pb form off of that first round qualification. He maybe the only White male to make sprint final less the 400 hurdles which some track pundits consider a hybrid sprint and middle distance event.

Steiner looked just as good but that was to be expected but a storm cloud is on the horizon as a DSD sprinter ran the fastest time in the first round. Once again the IAAF has kicked the gender question down the road and it will rob a XX female of a probable final as the runner looks too good to be eliminated in the semifinals. I just hope it's not a veteran like Prandini who won't have many more bites at the apple.

I feel really bad for Jenna Prandinni. She is heat 1 and it's stacked. It's gonna take the race of her life to make the finals. All the heats are tough at this level but I would have preferred Jenna in heat 2.

Another heart break. Filippo Tortu missed making the 200 meter finals by 3/1000th of a second. He finished in a tie for 2nd (20.10) after Knighton but the computer gave the nod to Brown of Canada.

Warholm leads to top of stretch then I think he hurt his hamstring again. I was literally yelling at Bassitt to dive across the finish line, if he did he would have got 3rd.

Times were crazy fast in 200m for both the men and the women I was near certain Tortu would have gotten a lane in the final but if a sub 20 runner has to cross his fingers and hope for the best(Richardson from Trinidad) then Tortu needed to be among the top 2 and he was pipped by 3/1000th of a second.

Steiner seemed tight and all of sudden SAFP had another gear to go sub 22 and the other Yam would have broken Schipper's championship record if she put her foot down on the gas in the last 50 meters says that something is going on. It's a scary thought but Flo Juice might not be a world record holder in two days and we know how that record was achieved...

PS, I'm happy for Bassitt and I hope the wobble from Warholm at the top stretch wasn't another injury. I wonder if he didn't do his all out attack style would he have had enough to snag a bronze with his less than optimal conditioning.

oops I turned off tv as soon as 400mh race was finished and didnt realize that Bassitt had placed 3rd...my bad Congrats to Trevor Bassitt on a great achievement! He has had a long season.

Congrats to Eleanor Patterson of Australia for winning Gold in a very tough battle with youngster Mahuchick! Setting a PB in a world championship final shows her mental toughness!

Wightman full measure for his Gold over Ingebritsen in the 1500m final. 3 of top 4 were white.

I thought Steiner was very nervous at the start, you could see it on her face. She didnt have her usual lightening fast start and didnt close on SFP at all. She actually ran slower than Prandini who was gassing at 180m in her heat. She needs to approach the final with the attitude "I have nothing to lose" if she runs to her top ability she medals...

Disappointed in the Japanese men...they seem to do well only on home soil.

Femke Bol cruised in the women’s 400m hurdles, and the final looks to be her and McLaughlin battling for gold and everyone else is fighting for the bronze, as Muhammad looks to be well back of those two. as an additional note, 22-year-old Viivi Lehikoinen, a former European u18 champion, set a Finnish national record (54.60) and only finished sixth in her heat!

in the women’s flat 400, i hope Lieke Klaver has some gas left in the tank after she sets a national record (Netherlands) in the semifinals. this final is stacked with a bunch of women within a fraction of one another, but most of them had to really work to qualify ... so who will have enough left to come out on top? in a bit of a surprise, no American qualified for the final, while the Caribbean is vastly over represented. i’m always confused how Poland is SO GOOD at the 400 relays (both men and women) yet rarely have individuals who are among the world elite. for instance, there’s only one Pole who qualified for this year’s women’s final and zero for the men’s.

in fact, nary a White athlete is to be seen in the men’s flat 400m final ... it’s my favorite race to watch; what a disappointment.

I like the fact that Mcloughlin is very serious about her sport, works extremely hard and does not show boat like many others...she is a mulatto which must burn black people to the limit. I have never liked Little and I am glad she is being made to look slow by the top 3.

I'd say the DR team are mostly juicing and have a guy running in the womens 400m.

Yes the DR team is new Yams as all of sudden they have world class sprinters and a flock of them not a guy or women here or there. It doesn't pass the sniff test.

I think Bol wins the silver and needs to run her own race and not worry about Sydney as there is no need for her to tie up badly by dueling with Sydney who will probably go for another world record in the final. I too think Muhammad is past it and should show it in the final and she will probably tie up badly down the stretch of the final.

PS DR women are usually easier on the eyes than the monster that qualified for the 400m final. When I look at her I think of this character from the 90's....
