I have suspicion that browning will run well in Eugene .....he is a sprinter with a razor sharp competitive edge ...like last in Japan ....as long as he is not. Carrying any injuries I think. He should do relatively well ....and as long as his first heat isn’t completely loaded full of dopes ..

And one thing I have really noticed is that unless your wearing the new Nike spikes , you are at a disadvantage , by up to 0.5/ 0.6 of one hundredth is is huge at world level ...so the puma athletes will be at a disadvantage ...absolutely sure of it ...

Excellent point. Yes technology can give certain athletes a big advantage kind of like those magic yams they eat for breakfast in Jamaica.

Karsten Warholm wears some new kind of Puma shoe, but as mentioned, the Nike shoes are a huge advantage.
They need to level the playing field with respective to shoes.
And btw, if you hadn't noticed, there have been all kinds of stellar performances this year, and those shoes are a big part of the reason for them.

I hope you're right about Browning, but frankly I don't share your opinion. He hasn't been running well (unfortunately) since arriving in Europe.
As WL mentioned, we don't have much to look forward to in the men's sprints at the upcoming World Championships.

I am very curious about how Warholm will do. He is recovering from an injury and hasn't even completed a race this outdoor season.
It will be a stretch for him to get the gold at the WC, given the circumstances and stiffening competition.
But if anybody can do it, Warholm can!

The Mens Sprints was a complete wash for our guys. All of them failed to get out of the first round. It doesn't suprise me as none of them have looked that good this year outside of Wagner. Even he was average probably due to nerves
as he had never competed in any major championship before today. Regardless no excuses as he should have been better prepared along with Browning and Doran.

I would have liked to have seen Emile Erasmus as with his experience I believe he would have handled the nerves better and ran a fast time to at least get out of the first round at minimum. We will never know as he was slotted only for the
4 x 100 Relays. Very unfair in my opinion. Let's hope the Mens 200 meters and 4 x 100 Relays go betters.

The Womens 100 Meters starts tommorow.

Yes the sprints were a white wash(no pun intended) nobody even limped into the semi final. 2 full blooded Asians are in but they both should be near the back of the pack in their semifinal as Liu wasn't even close to running a flat 10 in his first round race and the Japanese runner is an unknown sprinter at the world level. Times as always were crazy as some guys who ran 10 flat had to rely on fastest loser qualifications to make it to the semifinals.

Note Sani Brown won his first round heat but he while looking like a dark East Asian is half African, also the mysterious Jacobs looks injured and ran with weird form and limped into the semifinals after coming second in his race.

PS you missed the anchor leg of Bol who took Holland from out of the medals to a near dead heat for gold at the line but ran out of real estate. It was very exciting to watch her closing speed, she looks fit and ready for her real event later in the meet.

I have never cheered for Sani Brown as his father is not Japanese. The Aussies looked terrible....Browning I think is not fully recovered from his injury. I also wanted to say the anchor for the DR looks very masculine for a female....

I'm shocked. The Jamaicans didn't medal in the sprints for the men. The best they could do is 4th place. Refreshing for a change but it's sad that the Americans must have stole the magical yams. They swept the mens 100 meters which has only
happpened 3 times in World Championship History. They also had the known cheat who won it before finish in 6th. So 4 of the 8 fastest guys on earth are from the U.S. I don't like seeing this but what can you do?

In the Mens Long Jump we had a chineese jumper win it on his tinal jump. Tentoglou with the silver medal and Ehammer took home the bronze. Nice to see guys from around the world and all non africans.

Warholm looked great winning his heat of the 400 meter hurdles. Great to see as I was nervous with him coming off the injury. The semi finals will be an even better test for the defending gold medal olympic champion & world record holder!

I'm not that shocked as the men can't dope with impunity so they have pip squeak type runners in the 100 versus a string of powerhouse types. It was nice to see Yohan Blake go out in the semifinals as his bloated body seems to be aging and won't be even a fringe contender at the world level soon.

Warholm looked like peak Warholm but he was up against relatively weak runners in the first round. The semi finals will be a test to see if he can run a final type time without an injury or his body hitting the wall because of a lack of conditioning.

In the 110 hurdles a host of White runners made the semifinals lead by Cunningham. Allen didn't look on peak form but he may have been holding back to avoid a Daniel Roberts type situation. Roberts who pulled off an upset win in the US trials face planted in the first round as he seemed off kilter with his speed and trying to just qualify.

Beautiful Ukrainian HJ Yuliya Levchenko surprisingly did not qualify in the womens HJ. Swoboda and Luckenkemper made it through to the semis. Nice to see Pozzi get through to next round in the mens 100mh. Warholm looked ok but IMHO not near his usual self, we will see. Zoe Hobbs great run with new area record but she is up against 3 Jamaican cheats.

Bol's run in the mixed 4x400 relay is a thing of legend! she had so much ground to make up that it was impossible to even think she had a chance ... but she’s Femke Bol, and she’s never out of it. WOW!!! if she had 5 more meters, she’d have brought home the gold for Netherlands. PHENOMENAL!!!

Yes, her final leg, in fact her final 200 meters, were just incredible!!
A few more meters and she would have gotten gold.

It seemed that she was 20 meters back with just 200m to go, and she managed to catch the American. who was leading.

The Mens 110 Meter Hurdles later tonight is going to be lit! We have 5 of our guys in the final. Trey Cunningham, Devon Allen, Damian Czykier and Joshua Zeller. Great to see a Polish and an English guy in there. Oh man I also forgot about the Spaniard Martinez.

Knowing that Devon Allens dad died a couple of weeks ago it's hard not to root for him. I hope Allen wins and Cunninham medals. Usually I would say Cunningham but I hope Allen does if for the memory of his dad.

More than half (5) of the 8 finalists in the men's 110m hurdles are white.
That's a first for any type of sprint/hurdles race at a WC.
The contestants include Trey Cunningham -USA, Devon Allen - USA, Damian Czykier - Poland, Asier Martinez - Spain, Joshua Zeller - Great Britain.
