Since 2005, Northwestern has started 12, 13, 15, 14, 15, 16, 15, 11, 11, 11, 12, 9, 11, 10, 12 and 12 Whites. In 2021 the Wildcarts are projected to start 12 once again.

Defensive stalwarts Paddy Fisher and Blake Gallagher have graduated so the LB corp have a different look to it. The most intriguing battle is at the QB position between Hunter Johnson and Ryan Hillinski. Johnson struggled mightily in 2019 and did not play last year as Peyton Ramsey transferred in and performed well. Ryan Hillinski looked to be on an upward trajectory in the SEC playing for the Gamecocks as a freshman but injuries last year sent him to the bench and ultimatley out to Evanston. I do think Hillinski is the better option at this point. Time will tell.

Players to look out for: WR Berkely Holman, DE Devin O'Rourke, DL Wyatt Blake, DL Sean McLaughlin DT Jeremy Meiser, LB Mac Uihlein, DB Joe Dehaan

Offense -
QB - Hunter Johnson or Ryan Hillinski
TE - Charlie Mangieri
LT - Peter Skoronski
LG - Josh Priebe
C - Sam Gerak
RG - Charlie Schmidt
RT - Ethan Wiederkehr

Defense -
DT - Trevor Kent
DT - Joe Spivak
LB Peter McIntyre
LB - Bryce Gallagher**or
LB - Chris Bergin

Snowplow!!

Good looking Northwestern team, excited to see Chris Bergin flying around as an undersized LB.

Fitzgerald is one of the only coaches I legitimately like. Interesting that last few seasons they have been able to land Elite QBs in the Transfer Portal.

Agreed on Fitzgerald. Ferentz and Chryst are probably the other two I can appreciate (I did like Chris Petersen - the Boise St/Washington coach as well). Maybe Brett Bielema bounces back a little at Illinois - he wasn't that bad in Madison. The Wildcats long tenured D-coordinator retired after last season. I am sure he played a role in recruiting on defense. Hopefully the new DC does not turn out to be a caste bozo.

Yup short list of coaches to cheer for these days! Pretty much down to the Big Ten West.

Also very interested to see which QB comes out as the Starter !

*Impressive LB Mac Uihlein has already cracked the 2Deep as a Freshman! Expect big things from the LB out of Lake Forest.

Agree on all points, literally the only college ball I will go out of my way to see.
