2021 NFL Week 3

Wouldn't it be great if Taylor Heinicke turns out to be a quarterback like Kurt Warner or Tony Romo, both of whom were free agents?

I like Heinicke but not sure if he can be a long term starter. I do hope he gets an extended audition unless his play really falls off. The playoff performance vs the Bucs was very gritty and he made some great throws last week against the Giants. Kyle Allen also still intrigues me - he played well in stretches and is arguably a more physically talented player than Henicke. Henicke certainly does have the “it” factor though.

So far the current crop of draftable QB prospects have not lived up to the hype outside of Nevada QB Carson Strong. The Redskins off-season will be interesting to monitor.

Sony Michel looks anything but dynamic, good for the short and long term for Jake Funk, not to mention Michel has the knees of an old man, he's pretty close to damaged goods.

What a perfect fastball by Cousins to Thielen!

That is the only catch this half. I wish Cousins would look Thielens way more. He only has thrown to him twice in the first half.

On defense for the Vikings we have the two studs doing their thing early on:

Harrison Smith 7 tackles & 5 solo.
Nick Vigil with 4 tackles already.

I think Dalvin Cook is one of the more overrated players in the NFL. Mattison seems to bring the same type of impact to the offense.

Justin Herbert had an all-star day, especially considering how young he is. He led his team to victory over the Chiefs in Kansas City with his arm. The Chiefs are now 1-2, who would have guessed they'd start the season that way? Not that I'm complaining. ;)

MVP-caliber performance from Josh Allen as well; Joe Burrow 3 TDs and the victory in Pittsburgh. It's young white QBs like Herbert, Allen, and Burrow who are the future of the NFL.

Don't forget Lawrence - he will be fine. I also feel that Mac Jones will only continue to get better. Daniel Jones is another young White QB that played well today. Mayfield is no old man either! ;)

The Rams look great. Glad to see Cooper Kupp with his 2nd touchdown of the day. He has 5 catches for 65 yards so far!

One complaint though. The running game. Why are the forcing the ball to only Sony Michel. He has 10 carries for 22 yards. That's
a horrible 2 ypc average. Michel is an ok running back but why not give Funk a few of the carries? Jake Funk 1 rush for 6 yards. Maybe
in the 4th quarter they will allow a white man to run the ball. :)

Agree, Funk should have had way more carries by now. Hopefully with a lead the Rams will turn to more of the running game and get Funk involved.

Neither team has any semblance of a running game - Fournette/Michel are both 1st round picks, Jones was a 2nd round pick.
