The first game is the AFC matchup and has the Bengals going to KC.

The later game in the NFC has the 49ers going to L.A. to take on the Rams.

Feel free to chime in with predictions, opinions and game commentary.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict an upset. I see the Bengals upsetting the Chiefs. I'm gonna predict a score of 30-27.

In the other game I like the Rams getting by the Niners in another very close game. I will say 24-21.

So I got the Bengals vs the Rams in the Super Bowl. I hope I'm right. :)

Yes, WL, I hope you are right on both counts. If not, I am not really going to care much about watching SB 56.

I'll be cheering hard for the Rams for sure, but it's not the end of the world if San Fran pulls off the win. They have 7 White starters, which is pretty good for the NFL in 2022, including standouts Jimmy G, George Kittle, Kyle Juszczyk, and Nick Bosa. But the Rams have gone all in for this year via trades and trading future draft choices, so Let's Go Rams!

Can't see Cincy winning though I'll certainly be rooting for them to pull off the big upset.

I'm really only interested in watching the Rams. I love Joe Burrow's aloof and amused attitude and think he could be a top five quarterback for the next decade. I could be happy for Jimmy Garoppolo, and if he indeed gets traded, I'll enjoy the ensuing years' worth of rationalizing double-talk of the stooge TV pundits, since there is no chance the Niners will return to the conference championship (ever) with Trey Lance in his place.

But the star of the show for me is Cooper Kupp. I don't watch a lot of NFL, but he's one player I will tune in and focus onto during every play. I watched Chase Winovich and Aidan Hutchinson in that manner in their college games, and there have been white running backs (especially prime McCaffery) worth the price of admission alone, but I can't remember being so interested in one wide receiver at any point in time. Kupp is adding to his lore already at this stage of his young career, and another performance like last week's will see him in the mainstream conversation (not just our CF conversation) for best player in the NFL next year.

I agree and in my opinion Cooper Kupp should be the first NFL Wide Receiver to win the NFL MVP Award. Do I think he will win it? No I don't think he will win it but
he should. The other MVP Favorites have all been knocked out of the playoffs. Brady, Rodgers and even Taylor the darkhorse RB for the Colts. So why not Kupp? No one
has been more valuable to their team and they are one win from a super bowl. Give the MVP to Cooper Kupp! :)

Stoked to see the killer K's Kupp; Kelcie and Kittle showcase their Elite talents on the big stage!
.....Would be curious to see how past years compare??..Does anyone remember where 3 Receivers had 180+ yard games in the same season? Kelcie (10-191 vs Chargers); Kittle (9-181 vs Seahawks); Kupp (9-183 last week vs Bucs)

It is going to be extra tough for the Bengals to beat the Chiefs TWICE in LESS than a MONTH! But you can NEVER count out Joe Burrow!

On my Twitter the NFL comes up with their paid promotions stuff and even they are hyping the young white QBs as the future, that has to chap a lot of people's back sides. Too bad

The key to the Bengals - Chiefs - Hubbard and Hendrickson getting to Mahomes and sacking him - the Bills were terrible at doing this last week. It's also funny everyone wants to point to Mahomes as the reason for the turnaround - didn't the Chiefs heavily invest in their O-line? C Creed Humphrey might be the best rookie offensive player, Joe Thuney was a big FA signing. If the Bengals were smart they would exploit the Chiefs defensive prep against the pass and run the ball early and often (as long as it's effective). The Bengals came back to overtake the Chiefs late in the season so I am sure they have confidence about that they can do today.

My first post and I'm talking about a fullback, would love to see Juszczyk get some carries today. What a great player he is.

Like what you guys have going here, totally on board.

Am curious about why teams don't use a fullback, remember Tom Rathman?

Welcome! I think teams should use fullbacks a lot more.

I wonder if one of the reasons they don't is just fashion.

Thank you sir:)

An extra blocker for your QB, another receiver, a guy who can thump for short yardage, block for the RB, where is the down side? Apparently the Niners not into fashion, ha!

Welcome!

I too miss the Fullback. It’s supposed to be out-dated but at the same time coaches seem to want their players to be able to perform a lot of tasks.
Like you point out the FB is perfect for that.

Thank you appreciate that:)

With us talking about this look for KJ to have a big game today. How cool would that be?

Welcome!

According to the "experts" the fullback position is not being utilized as much due to the advent of spread offenses. Slot WRs are on the field more, take up more of the snaps so having a FB is seen more as a liability. Teams do not run how they used to as the rule tweaks have made offenses rely on being pass heavy.

Think you nailed it. good one:)

Then we see these Niners one game away from another SB with a fullback and a run heavy offense and ya wonder if just maybe this fullback thing isn't a good idea.

I agree. With teams focused more on pass rushing type players, lighter "hyrid LB/S types" a powerful run heavy offense would be very effective against these type of personnel.

Uzomah is serviceable but the Bengals need an upgrade at tight end

I hear that my friend! Rathman was my favorite player as a kid! Hopefully juice can get 3 or 4 carries.

Welcome to the board. Yes Rathman was fun to watch back in the day. He just trucked over defenders like bowling pins. K.J. is a similar
talent but vastly underused. So why not play him more at running back. They risk Debo getting hurt with all of his rb carries.

No more fullbacks means there are less chances for Peyton Hillis type phenomenon’s. If all three of your running backs are hurt and you have to go with a large white man like Hillis who runs roughshod over the defenses is not what the nfl wants. If that makes any sense lol!
Full back Burton with a tough run for the chiefs. I think he is 10 for 10 on first down conversions this year.
