Unfortunately, Porzingis is lacking something. He’s not explosive like before all his injuries. He seems misfit in the system, and doesn’t look right mentally. This Maverick’s team, as presently constructed, has reached it’s ceiling, imo. I hear they will be. If players in the free agent market this offseason. And, it’s probable they will deal Porzingis. All that said, they are still tied 2-2 in the series, and could turn it around.
Agreed completely, Porzingis has not found a way to fit in with the offense. Him and Luka have never gelled. I dont come here to simply be some “cheerleader” of all white athletes.
Luka and KP are complete opposites. When they first teamed up, no one knew who would be the superstar. If anything it was a slight KP lean.
Luka has always made sure to freeze KP out at key times to make sure everyone knew whose team it was. He is creative and talented enough to do this in a way that most wouldn't notice. But he seems like a typical superstar kid raised on stats, and fancy plays as a defining measure of success. This also makes him a great player so its a bit of a necessary evil.
I’ll stop the diatribe early, but the big point is they dont play well together. Was hoping once it was determined that it was Luka’s team he would be more likely to feed KP and build him up. That never happened though and I dont think Luka will ever win a championship under the current system but will put up monster stats and highlight reel plays for the next decade. Yes he won in Euroleague but he is a terrible teammate who will only have a chance with 4 perfectly complimentary beta players ( who most likely do not exist in the NBA).
