What game?
What team?
What position?
First name?
Clint Ratkovich is a 6-foot-1, 220-pound senior “fullback” for Northern Illinois. he likely has better measurables than the featured running blacks who get almost all the carries for the Huskies, but such is the Caste System.

Ratkovich 96 yard TD Rush!
he broke a tackle in the backfield on that run, as well. dude has a lot of Peyton Hillis in him, methinks.

also notable on the play, the only Western Michigan player that had a chance at running him down was sophomore linebacker Ryan Selig, who outran several defensive blacks on his own team before failing to catch Ratkovich.

So stupid that they call him a “fullback” just because he’s white, every snap he takes is like a normal running back!! When has he ever lined up at fullback?

Just curious, if the quarterback lines up behind the center, shouldn’t the guy behind the QB be the half- back, then the farthest guy the “fullback”? Never understood it.

Ratkovich reminds me of Juszczyk. They could both be 15-20 touch guys a game if given the chance but we know how the caste system works.

even more stupid is the fact that since his long run, Ratkovich has touched the ball exactly one time. ONCE! so much for that old coaching philosophy of “find something that works and keep doing it until the other team stops you.”

seriously. how stupid are some of these coaches?

It's too bad Lombardi is out with an injury tonight. That has really affected NIU tonight.

Looks like Carson Steele struggled to find any lanes to run through tonight - 23 rushes for 44 yards. He goes over 800 yards on the season with a shot to hit the 1K mark in the bowl game.

I haven’t watched the Huskies or Ratkovich play besides the highlights so I assumed he must have lined up as a fullback in the I-formation from time to time because he is always referred to as a fullback but that doesn’t seem be the case. He also doesn’t do himself any favors by calling himself a “superback” on twitter. This article has a video of Ratkovichs run and describes it as a “simple fullback dive” despite him being lined up in the pistol formation. I guess it’s just because he is large and white. Very frustrating he didn’t get more carries. https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/...lint-ratkovich-goes-96-yards-for-a-touchdown/

redshirt freshman quarterback Smothers looked excellent on his first drive of his first-ever start for Nebraska. he showed good timing, a live arm, and the ability to run. the announcers said he’s faster than Martinez, who’s out due to a shoulder injury and surgery.

Padilla looks good for Iowa on their first drive, as well. nice to see these two programs have a chance to play effective quarterbacks after their struggles of the recent past.

This should have happened many games ago and not due to an injury. Regadless I like this kid Smothers and he looks smooth and explosive. I'm excited to
watch him as he progresses and makes many plays. Now I can really get behind the Huskers again. They have been hard to watch with the qb situation.

Pottebaum, the big Hawkeyes fullback, with a BIG run, breaking tackles and looking beastly.

the two featured tight ends (LaPorta for Iowa and Allen for Nebraska) in this game are both likely going to have long, successful pro careers.

Even though I'm rooting for Iowa slightly due to them being ranked 15th in the nation I love watching Smothers run the Nebraska Offense. Now this is a kid that
Cornhusker Fans can believe in. What has he done so far against one of the top teams in the country you ask?

How about this:

9-10 passing for 156 yards and 20 rushes for 72 yards and 2 touchdowns! Wow all in his first game as a freshman! Outstanding. With 10 minutes to go
regardless of what happens he is the future! :)

every senior on Iowa’s (and Wisconsin’s) defense should be invited to an all star game. they are so good. Nebraska’s defense has been equally as good today, as well.

I'm glad to see Iowa win a tough game against Nebraska. They are one of our highest ranked teams that we root for and very white friendly. We
also go to see the future qb most likely for Nebraska and Smothers played way better than Martinez has the past few years.

Now we have to root on Cinncinati. Alec Pierce just hauled in a 53 yard bomb and is now up to 65 yards receiving in the first half. This is a must win game!
