This could be a huge year for Groshek. Often viewed as a 3rd down back even though he’s definitely not your typical and capable of being a workhorse. In a way this can be good because he won’t need huge numbers to get a shot with a team.

I can see 700 rushing yards and 300 receiving and him being a day 3 guy.

DB Scott Nelson was a starter as a True Freshman before the injury. If he can regain pre-injury form he has a future in the NFL. Has some comparisons to Harrison Smith ...will fill out more & hope he stays healthy!

Explosive DT Garrett Rand should be on an NFL Radar. (Missed entire 18' season w Achilles injury) Bounced nack to have solid 19' ! How much does he Bench Press again?

Garrett Groshek is a capable 100 yard per game RB if he gets opportunity to get 20+ carries!

Wisconsin holding onto Title "O-Line U." to the NFL...is Jack Sanbon the next Badger LBer to the NFL?

Michigan Coach Harbaugh was ready to start the season Sept 26th ...too bad leadership is lacking.

I'm so happy that Garrett Groshek will get alot of carries this year. He has been beyond patient waiting for a legitimate opportunity to showcase what he can do. Despite the short season I think he is going to shine. I agree he should get
around 600 to 700 yards in 8 games assuming he is healthy and gets half of the work load. I'm really excited to watch him play!

Thanks Bucky. For kicks I looked around to see what the buzz was around GG? While they all said he is a good "fill in type" the main gist was he doesn't have the look of a starting Power 5 RB. What look? Wisconsin hasn't won a National Championship since 1942. The main reason they have been darn good the past 15 years is because of their big rugged offensive lines and feisty white led defenses.

Are they going to finally give GG his much deserved place in the spotlight or will they revert back to beating around the bush with him?

Otherwise another solid Badgers team to get behind and hopefully we see some white WR action ( Jack Dunn) this year, something that has been missing for a while now.

Both Rand and Chenal are 35+ rep guys at bench. Chenal is a friggin tank at LB, expect a big jump from him. Sanborn will most likely declare and don't sleep on Burks.

Remains a great mystery at Groshek usage but as other have mentioned a 700+ rushing 300+ receiving year would do him good. They want Watson to take over but Groshek is better all around and has actually lost weight preparing for this season.

Dunn was a top punt returner last season, let's hope he can get some more reps in the slot.

Ferguson continues TE tradition. Most likely declare as well.

CVL at LT deserves some respect as well.

Apparently Coan has injured his foot. If he's not ready keep an eye on Mertz. Highly regarded Redshirt Freshman from Kansas.

Keeping an eye on how the OL battles play out.

Today Groshek makes the Milwaukee SJ website for subscribers "Groshek indespensible leader" what a crock of crap if you ask me

Good luck to Coan...hope he makes a smart decision.

Wisconsin senior QB Jack Coan entered the transfer portal.

The announcement makes sense since when Graham Mertz got injured against Minnesota, Chase Wolf entered the game to finish the contest instead of supposed backup QB Coan (6'3/221). He was battling Mertz in fall camp for the right to be the Badgers' opening day starter, but a foot injury derailed those hopes. The writing was on the wall when the senior QB was relegated to backup duty even after he returned from injury.

Damn sad to see Coan go. Wonder if he'll head back East. Weird season really screwed him over and then he hurt his foot.

Still not sold on Mertz just yet..

Coan is a “big deal” here on Long Island as the local newspaper still covers his college career. He is from a very nice hamlet (Republican stronghold) with a relatively small school district, so not exactly a football powerhouse. I hope he lands in a good spot and has a chance to play on Sunday.

Thanks for the background, very cool to get some insight as I've never been to NYC. I remember he first started generating offers in lacrosse before football picked up. Agreed I'll be paying close attention to where he ends up.
