Schippers first run of the season

Glad to see Schippers win. Times aren't as important this year. Very few sprinters are in the proper peak conditioning. Schippers still held off Swoboda.

yes, went past her in fact. Too bad that start for the Swiss lass Del Ponte wasn't as good as it could have been. I think she might have just snuck past Swoboda too. All 3 very close at this stage though

I miss the old Schippers who would come like a bullet train at mid race, and just fly past the competition.
I wish she would change coaches before she's too old.

Despite Deniz Almas not getting the win today. he ran great again. The kid has gone sub 10.20 consistantly and also sub 10.1o twice this season all as a 23 year old! Almas is one to watch next season closely.

In Ostrava today Dafne Schippers ran a world leading time in the 150 meters! Good way to close out the last month of the season.

After that PB 150m in Ostrava, just for fun I added Dafne's best points for each of the 7 heptathlon events

Lieke Klaver may be another young Dutch woman to watch. She finished 3rd in that 150 metre run in a new personal best. She's also run 22.66/200 and 51.39/400 this year having just turned 22.

At the Japanese University Championships, 21 yr old Yuki Hashioka, jumped a world leading 8.29 (27ft, 2-3/8in) long jump.
Also Soshi Mizukubo, ran a 10.14 100m.

At the Swiss Championships, Silva Wicki ran 10.18 into a very slight negative wind.
He's had a very good season, but hasn't performed as well in international competitions

17 year old Henriette Jaeger of Norway is another young, speedy female sprinter.
Like Daphne Schippers, she has been a heptathlete, but is now making a name for herself in the sprints.

She recently set PBs of 11.51 in the 100m, 23.53 in the 200m, and 52.52 in the 400m
All 3 times are fastest Under 18 times in Europe this season!, and all 3 times are National U18 records.
Her 100m time is 5th fastest U20 this season; her 200m and 400m times are 3rd fastest U20 times this season.
Her 200m time is also National U20 record.
Little Norway is really killing it this year on the track!

Henriette Jaeger, 17, sets a world U18 heptathlon best with 6301 points in Moss, Norway today.
In addition to being the Euro U18 leader in the 100m, 200m, and 400m, she is also the U18 leader in the long jump! . . . and obviously in the heptathlon.
Unbelievable talent coming out of Norway (population 5.5 million).

Hedda Hynne of .... NORWAY! .... just ran a world leading time of 1:58.10 in the 800m!

I just can't believe how well this little country is doing in track.
The Ingebrigtsen brothers, Karsten Warholm, Henriette Jaeger, and now Hedda Hynne.
Go Norway!!!

Schippers 4th in 11.42, just nipped by Amy Hunt who ran 11.41.

Schippers has been one step forward, and two steps back. Can't seem to get on track.

You beat me to it. Fantastic way to end the season as I doubt there will be many more meets now in mid september. I was hoping for a sub 10 but that is an amazing time into a slight wind.
