A couple of noteworthy performances that haven't been mentioned yet:
Max Burgin, 18, of Britain ran 1:44.75 800 meters last week, which is an European Junior record.
Max was also the European U18 champion in 2018 as a 16 yr old, finishing almost 2 full seconds ahead of his competitors.
Every year he keeps improving and setting records. Definitely one for the future.
Max Burgin has his 1st race against elite level 800m runners, this Sunday in Stockholm. I'm excited to see how he will respond to world class competition.
Also very interested to see how Norwegians Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Karsten Warholm will do. Ingebrigtsen just broke the European 1500m record last week, and Warholm is always knocking on the door of 400m hurdles world record.
Other notables - Adam Gemili and Bruno Hortelano in the 200m, Armand Duplantis in the pole vault, and Femke Bol in the 400m hurdles.
Because of the virus, there are less 'internationals' competing in these big European meets, and more Europeans competing, which is good for them.
