Tannehill was shipped out of town for the wrong reasons.

The classic DWF would parrot the party line and say he wasn't good enough but he looked similar in Miami when he was healthy.

Gotta say Vrabel has put together a good team in Tenn. Tannehill looks great running that offense. Thye have a good running game and solid defense - two things ignored by many teams in the league - especially establishing a run game.

I think Tannehill should be in the MVP discussion. What a commanding performance. And it isn't mentioned much but he is a swift and commanding runner. Extra points for having a hot wife. Ha.

Buffalo has been flat most of the game. Sleepwalking.

One of the game balls should go to Titans #49 a first class fetch artist. Nick Dzubnar. The best game I have seen from a special teamer this season.

Tannehill looks every bit as good as Wilson to this point. Even if the Titans keep up their play for the balance of the season I can't see the media getting behind Tannehill for an MVP push as he doesn't fit the agenda because he is the wrong color as well as the fact he has proven the sports media wrong when they labeled him a bust. I loved Tannehill coming out and thought his play in Miami was steady. Just goes to show putting a QB in the right situation can really benefit the QB. Happy to see him doing so well. The Titans look like they can take the Chiefs or Ravens on with no problem. Their playoff game last year vs. "The Blank Canvas" was one of the most satisfying playoff victories for me in awhile.

Cody Barton had 9 solo tackles and 5 assisted ones while playing just 68% of the snaps against Minnesota. Meanwhile long-time starter K.J. Wright played almost every snap and had all of 3 combined tackles. Will be interesting to see if the talented Mr. Barton gets more playing time on Pete's Plantation even though such is considered heresy by Chompin' Pete.

Ben Burr-Kirven has also yet to see the field for the plantation - he was a heat seeking missile while playing for the Huskies. Barton was in on alot of the action and looked damn good - a true LB out there. The Seattle defense which is what their success was built around is a shadow of it's former self - the centerpiece of their defense Bobby Wagner has obviously lost a step. The Vikings had the right idea to run at the defense but the defense couldn't hold up their end of the bargain. The Rams exploited the Cowboys weak DL in week 1 and pretty much every one else has followed suit against them. Gruden's 4th quarter playcalling - relying on the run game to keep the Chiefs off the field also showed some good old fashioned common sense. The league is so predicated on gaudy passing numbers that many of these coaches and front offices forget to address the run game. I am old enough to remember the late 90s/early 2000s where establishing the run game was essential to a football teams success. More and more it's just shootouts that come down to who has the ball last. The 15 years of manipulating the rules to making the league way too passer friendly is why we are seeing such outrageous scores (along with a lack of talent and fundamentals which is ever present on the defensive side of the ball). It's obvious the league wanted to change the rules - as much as they say it was for safety it was to basically usher in the equivalent of the juiced ball era (maybe even steroid era) of the MLB for the NFL.

Taysom Hill will never take regular snaps at QB. Payton would not be playing his future starting QB on special teams and using him sparingly on offense. I expect when the Saints are out of the playoff picture, Famous Jameis will be starting.

The best part of the Taysom story, to me, is that Taysom got paid. He is set for life.

Good point I thought he was done for after that last knee injury in college. He's surpassed my expectations. Though like everyone else here, I think he needs more playing time. He did have 2 weeks in a row where he fumbled as well. So kudos to Payton for sticking with him.

Taysom could be every bit as dynamic and statistically great as L Jackson - he is every bit the athlete and stronger so can power through tacklers if needed which is something Jackson cannot do.

Given Taysom is likely the most athletic QB in the league, were he black he would be a superstar.

That racist pile of drivel The Undefeated has an article on if black coaches will get a fair shake at the head coaching vacancies. How about white athletes get a fair shake and nearly every position!?!

No sportswriter questioning why the Bears best back (demonstrably when given a chance in preseason and athletically) can’t get any carries behind the powerhouse that is Molasses Montgomery??

The poster above knows his football. I personally can't say for sure if he would be the equal of L Jackson only because I haven't seen enough of him on the NFL level. But I have to admit I was upset when Hill resigned with the Saints. I was hoping a team would scoop him up and make them their "man." He truly deserves that chance. As long as he plays the role of gimmick Meister we will never know if Hill has what it takes to become a very good starting QB. He has the arm strength that is not the issue. Usually dual threat type are lacking in that area. And hell when he was healthy he was fantastic QB at BYU.

I'm a huge fan of Taysom and this has been a very frustrating start of the season for him. It's depressing and a bit ironic. The three college players who sort of fit the Taysom Hill mold are struggling like hell this season. John Rhys Plumlee, Slade Bolden and Jake Smith.

Leonardfan mentioned the media has a decided bias against white dual threat hyper athletic QBs. I have noticed that too. I think they want to draw up a dividing line on the issue and want the public to hear that only black QBs alone are capable of being dynamic athletes. Which probably explains the long running media distaste for QBs like Ryan Tannehill and Alex Smith.

Very good points. Both wonderful athletes who have us to put up with media doubters their entire careers.
Look at the extremely short leash Tebow had? Look at Trubisky’s short leash and Nagy essentially sabotaging his development.

Look at the switch of Matt Jones to WR; how about the Northern Illinois kid a few years back - Jordan Lynch? One of the best rushers in the country - barely a sniff of the NFL. Heck Lynch could have been a stellar running back in the NFL.

Bottom line is the media has to hide white athletic superiority (or even athletic equality) because they need to keep us down - and they could never pass the equal/superior intelligence lie as it would never take. So they make us drunk on sports and then hammer us with black athletic “superiority” which doesn’t exist.

But the overwhelmingly majority of whites are docile and stupid, listening to their masters in media.

Taysom Hill - I honestly do not know what to make of him or the Saints long term plans with him. Time is not on his side as he was 4-5 years older than most rookies when he came into the league. He's now 30 - I have read whispers comparing Hill to Steve Young who was another QB on the wrong side of the 30. The athletic comparisons between them are obvious but Young was also brought along solely as a QB initially under Bill Walsh who was one of the greatest coaches and offensive minds in NFL history. I can't speak to what the Saints do with Hill in practice but in games he is utilized in uncreative ways not giving him a great chance at success. Payton to his credit believes in Hill but the lack of obvious long term plans for Hill that he has is frustrating for us on the outside.

Don has lamented the lack of new member posters but it is nice to see these three sharp new football posters contributing. Newer members like them I think will go a long way in keeping this site afloat.

I agree that guys like Taysom Hill scare the sh** out of the NFL. Just like with Cmac and a few other dynamic athletes. Remember Matt Jones of Arkansas? He got in trouble once and never was heard from again. The guy could out run
Lamar Jackson and he played both football and basketball in college. The professional leagues do their very best to hide and ignore these elite white athletes. Very few ever get the chance to shine. They do not want whites doing the same
things as blacks as it doesn't fit the stereotypes & old wifes tales that they push. If Taysom Hill ever gets to start his best days as a runner will be mostly in the past. They only want to see conv. white drop back quarterbacks for the most part. Josh
Allen and Tannehill are a few that slipped through the cracks. Alex Smith was another but it's rare. This is why a sports site like this one is so important. Fight their anti white racism at every chance we get!
