Another FCS guy to watch is the smallest college football I’ve ever heard of who’s actually good. Idaho State’s Michael Dean is a senior and 3 year contributor who is listed at 5’6” 155lbs. He started off as a RB/KR who has developed into a solid slot receiver. His career receiving stats are 121-1767-20 and his rushing totals are 54-427-5 in addition to over 350 return yards. He’s also a track star at ISU! His senior year of high school he was one of the top rushers in the entire country with 2555 yards and 37 touchdowns, obviously wasn’t highly recruited due to his size but Idaho State got a gem.

I much prefer to deliver good news but one of the reasons I have had floating anxiety so far this season is the dearth of white wide receivers who have any shot at the NFL. The fact that Notre Dames Chris Finke is off to a slow start pretty much eliminates all chances of a white WR being drafted in 2020. And 2021 is not looking that much better. While it is harder to project after that I have an uneasy feeling that this so called uptick in white WRs we have seen in recent years as far as the NFL draft is concerned could be coming to a crashing halt in the next few years. I sure and hell hope not.

There is always the needle in a haystack chance a small school player emerges but even there I have noticed the few players of promise are off to inconsistent starts.

You are correct, in the top 50 receiving leaders so far only 2 are not black and one of them is a Mexican kid (Brandon Arconado). The only white guy in the top 50 is Ball State’s Riley Miller who’s 22-306-2 stat line wont cut it for a small school guy. I hope things will pick up as the year goes on but I don’t know. I have high hopes that Thayer Thomas will get drafted in a couple years but he’s only a sophomore so time will tell. We NEED Ian Book to get the ball to Chris Finke more, and why the hell not? He’s a great player with some speed and moves as we saw in his 50+ yard touchdown 2 weeks ago.

The state of affairs for white college wide receivers so far this season has been draining and depressing. Plays right into the hands of the black supremacy crowd (BSC). This trend could get very ugly pretty fast.

I see that Jake Smith is starting to get compared to one time Texas great Jordan Shipley. Take a gander at Jordan's stats at Texas below and it makes you realize how bad the problem is this year. Granted Jordan didn't hit full stride until his junior year but his stats were amazing. One of my favorite college players of all time. Shipley's NFL career got stifled for a variety of reasons but he was a third round draft pick.

Here is hoping speedster Smith can follow in Jordan's footsteps in regards to the draft down the road? Nothing is certain in these times as the BSC clouds everything up.

The only other freshman WR of note is red shirt Iowa slot Nico Raiagini. Like Smith he also handles punt return duties. Nico has a 9-109 stat line so far.

Just to highlight how grim the situation is, here is the top 30 white WR’s so far this season (no TE’s included). #30 Nico Ragaini sits at #374 overall which means 8% of the top 375 receiving leaders are white WR’s. That’s terrible and disappointing. 13 of the 30 don’t even have a TD yet through 4 weeks.

The neglect of these WR’s is mind boggling to me mainly because most of the guys on the list are full time starters. Just like Chris Finke who only has 81 yards on the season with 54 coming on one play.

I would have to agree with you Red Raider. There are wr's like Washington's Austin Osborne and Iowa's Oliver Martin that have just a ton of overall skill. The fact that Mannix is being underused is a crime in itself. Someone mentioned on here it seems like a lot of our guys in college and in the NFL are not even being used on intermediate routes. I think Cole Beasley and Trey Quinn are averaging like less than 9 yards a game. I hate unjustified paranoia but there really seems to be a trend downwards on using our guys. Will Hastings of Auburn is a clear example. At least next year Stanford will have 3 highly touted wr's to go to.

It is extremely likely that we will have no 1000 yard receivers this season. I can’t remember a season ever where that has happened.

It is also very concerning to me that the top 3 white receivers are tight ends. What is going on? Similar things going on in the NFL where Hunter Renfrow, Trey Quinn, Cole Beasley, and Adam Humphries have combined for 1 TD through 6 weeks while all being starters. All 4 are also averaging less than 10 yards per catch.

That's concerning indeed! I didn't think about that but if it keeps going like this, we'll have the lowest amount of white WR's drafted in years thus ending all the progress we've been making in the caste system.

As for the lack of TD's from the guy's you mentioned since all of them are 6'0 and under, and they all play in the slot almost exclusively so red zone targets are are hard to come by.

Every week it is looking more and more likely we will not see a white 1000 yard receiver this year with Western Michigan TE Giovanni Ricci leading our guys with 495 yards through week 8. I did some digging and I believe the last time that we didn’t have a 1000 yard receiver was 1993 (not 100% sure because I couldn’t find pictures of a couple 1993 1000 yard receivers). That is insane and extremely disappointing to think about, I wasn’t even born yet. It makes one wonder what has gone so wrong this season. I hope someone can come out of nowhere and break the barrier this year but it looks doubtful at this point. The weird thing is that there are a lot of white receivers this year but none are putting up big numbers on a consistent basis and many are outright getting ignored. Is it the atrocious QB play? The good thing is we have some young guys to look forward to the next few years (Kyle Phillips, Thayer Thomas, Alex Pierce, Blake Proehl, etc.)

i don’t know the actual measurements of the wideouts on Kansas State’s roster or the defensive blacks on Oklahoma, but Dalton Schoen looked like a giant out there on the field against the Sooners. additionally, he appeared to be uncoverable. KState isn’t primarily a passing team, but he looks like a legitimate talent.

he had 3 long pass receptions and at least one forced defensive pass interference call, though his box score numbers were hurt by a screen pass for a loss and the limited passing game for the Wildcats.

Dalton Schoen first made an impression as a sophomore. I believe against Texas he outran the defense for a long touchdown. But his career hasn't taken off so to speak. Part of it is their offensive design which is bread and butter run first grind it out stuff.

I like him as a talent though. But he doesn't consistently put up the huge stats that is "required" for white wide receivers to have any chance of getting drafted.

So he is a long shot to say the least. If you filter out the caste barrier I suspect he would be looked at as a 6th probably 7th round draft prospect but that isn't usually how it works.

I also like that Schoen isn’t very mistake prone, when he gets a chance he takes it. He has averaged nearly 17 yards a catch during his run as a 3 year starter but I don’t know if he has done enough to warrant much attention from anyone besides us here. He SHOULD be in an NFL camp next year but we’ll see what happens. Stat-wise this should be his best season which is good. K-State also has a young receiver Landry Weber who should see an increase in touches next year, he has 4 catches for 49 yards this year.

Agreed guys. Shadowlight is right, Schoen definitely caught a lot of people's attention with his performance against Texas a few years back. He also has ideal size to speed ratio as Red mentioned. It's really not an option for White WRs to not have good hands. It's a requirement, unlike with some of the affletes they trot out there with stone hands. In a sane world his insane yard per catch average in a Power 5 Conference should spark some interest draft day. But he's a White Athlete, so uphill battle. Here's to hoping he finishes the year strong!

I didn't realize Schoen was 6'1" - always thought he was a smaller/shiftier WR. He has outside WR size - I will have to send a tweet to the Senior Bowl about him.

if Schoen is a legitimate 6’1”, then the defensive blacks for Oklahoma and the other wideouts that were on the field for K State are TINY. he looked like a GIANT out there. it should make White people wonder why only White athletes are ever “too small” to play college ball.

Cal Poly WR J.J. Koski 6'1" 195 - got an invite to the NFLPA collegiate bowl. Looks like he is a player not yet discussed here. This season he has 36 rec 781 yds with 5 tds - big play guy.

Career totals are 115 rec 2224 rec yards and 15 tds. Career YPC avg is 19.3. Used as a return man and has 10 career rushes for 154 yds and 2 tds.
