I took a look at the Chiefs new depth chart and Cody Thompson has shot up from the bottom to 3rd at one of the WR spots. He passed up Gehrig Dieter and is just behind Tyreek Hill and Demarcus Robinson.

If Cody Thompson makes the Chiefs roster that would be a huge bonus. That said the grim curtain shuts off at 4:00 PM EST Saturday and I sense some doom as the teams abruptly slash their rosters down to 53.

One positive. Looks like DE Zach Allen will start for the Cardinals and deservedly so. He was a presence ( as expected) this past Saturday. Their Isabella /Allen draft picks were excellent choices.

The Andrew Luck retirement decision was puzzling. Although I understand the injuries piles on top of injuries that he's had, it makes sense. The only problem that I have with it is the timing, right before the season starts, leaving the team in a lurch.

On the other hand, it will be very entertaining watching the team scramble to get Jacoby "BBQ" Brissett up to speed this Thursday during the last preseason game. I'll be rooting hard for Chad "Former Bonehead" Kelly to send BBQ to the bench. It's also funny to look at the current Colts depth chart at Colts.com and see the starting QB position blank.

With A. J. Green out for the beginning of the regular season, the Bengals announced that an undrafted rookie from Troy, Damion Willis, will start at outside receiver with Tyler Boyd. Shows how effortlessly blacks can be promoted in the NFL, while the obvious choice, Alex Erickson, is still currently a backup, and despite all the good press he's been receiving may still find himself reduced to kick returning duties once again. Boyd is a slow slot receiver who was only moved outside after Green was hurt.

In Houston, with Lamar Miller now out for the season with a torn ACL, the Texans have Duke Johnson and a group of complete scrubs at RB. Johnson was never more than a third down receiving back with Cleveland, with Houston trading for him a month ago after he became disgruntled with his role on the Browns. It's unlikely he can be a featured runner. If Ryan Nall is cut or put on the practice squad again, Houston would be an ideal landing spot for him, but the odds of that happening are microscopic, especially given Houston's move the past two years toward becoming the blackest roster in the league.

Interestingly on Chiefs.com Dieter is still listed at # 3 with Thompson at # 5 on that spot. Since the Chiefs figure to carry 5 or 6 wideouts the chance that both make the team is not very good.

On the defensive side of the ball, Daniel Sorensen is still listed as the starter at FS. He is a Spagnuolo-type player in that he is smart and always around the ball so I think he makes the team and plays A LOT. Also at MLB, Ben Niemann has played a ton this preseason and looked good. He's probably going to be on the field a lot with the starter being Reggie Ragland. Ragland is frankly awful. He is good against the run IF he is in position, but often isn't. And in coverage is a terrible liability. I remember everyone groaning when he would drop into coverage. Easy pickin's for even the worst signal-caller.

You’re right I read the depth chart wrong, I’ll be happy as long as at least one of the two receivers makes the team. Cody Thompson would be a perfect #4 receiver for any team, he can play outside or inside and is a special teams stud.

Although I wouldn't be surprised to see Thompson's name on the waiver wire next week, it would be a shame as he's been arguably the best WR on the field for the Chiefs all preseason, always open with great hands.

With Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Demarcus Robinson and Mecole Hardman being locks, it doesn't leave a whole lot of space.

right now his challenger is 7th round pick Kerrith Whyte Jr. who had 4 carries for 8 yards....sounds like an easy competition but all the bears beat writers are picking him over Nall for that 4th spot. If he makes over Nall at this point, it is clear that Matt Nagy has no clothes

Instead of putting up a new thread I figured I would post this here. It is worth pointing out we are entering into what many consider the greatest couple of weeks of sports. Consider all the happenings around sports that run through Labor Day and the one week that follows.

A-The US Open is underway and will finish on Sunday September 8th.

B-College football kicks into full gear Saturday preceded by some games Thursday and Friday night.

C-The final NFL preseason games all finish up Thursday but the more important 53 man roster cuts takes place after that with the deadline being Saturday at 4:00 EST. Then the season kicks off Thursday September 5th with the Packers and Bears followed by the season opening Sunday games.

D-MLB playoff races heat up and players try to accentuate their stats with one month to go in the regular season.

E-The Premier League started up recently and is featured every weekend on NBC networks and other European soccer leagues are underway on Fox and ESPN networks.

One other side note that stretches beyond this "two week period" is the Track and Field World Championships kick off later in September.

Either way this is a stacked couple of weeks in sports. Also as pointed out elsewhere the PGA has "condensed" their schedule and golf is effectively over now but I am probably in the minority by saying I preferred the stretched out schedule they abided by for years. I sense most would disagree. I think they got too cute in trying to avoid clashing with football.

Yes, the slobbering by the radio media in the KC area for Thornhill is nauseating. They say things like "he could be the most productive player taken in the ENTIRE draft this year!" I kid you not.

You know how it goes though. If Thornhill messes up on a play, they will pan the camera towards Sorenson or Niemann. Or whatever white player happens to be on the field. It's their fault, you know. "Playing while being white."

It will be interesting to watch tonight, I actually like to see the bubble players out on the field, and that is where I expect to see the Pack's two rookie LBs, they might make it on ST or the practice squad. Both seem like sure tacklers if not playmakers at this point. If Fackrell is out there tonight I will be miffed, I would like to think he will be brought in a lot on packages but with the dopes in charge there who can say they deviate from the caste narrative, I don't.

On a good note any caste speak or actions can be labeled "narrative" which means questionable legitimacy.

The Miami Herald reports Dolphins players "would revolt" if the team traded LT Laremy Tunsil.
Reporter Adam Beasley's report is via a "well-placed" source. "The backlash would be amazing," the source said. "Guys would legit revolt." The Herald has previously reported that the Dolphins have turned down overtures for Tunsil, who is only 25 and under team control for two more seasons. The Texans have been one rumored possibility. The Dolphins are tanking, but there are always other considerations at play.

All of Bellichek's former assistants (outside of the blackballed Manigni) have been big time caste sell outs. If Flores keeps Laird and sees that he is an obvious talent who is better than Walton and Ballage then we might have something.

The "Belichick coaching tree" has been a huge disappointment. Don't know if Mangini was made an example of to keep the others from making the same "mistake," or they were just a bunch of cucks and caste clowns to begin with. And even Belichick is going pretty much full Caste now. And looking at the college team write-ups this year portends an NFL that will get blacker over the next few years on the o-line and at QB.

Steelers have both Casey Sayles and Hendy Mondeaux playing right now. Sayles was a pre season start for the Chargers a few seasons ago and Mondeaux has looked good. Hopefully they end up on a roster.
