PS: As LaChapelle was excelling at UCLA crosstown at USC speed demon Gary Wellman was making waves too. Two great white WRs at UCLA and USC playing at the same time in 1990 when Wellman was a senior superstar and LaChapelle was a freshman flash. Will it ever happen again? Place your bets!

Had to look up Gary Wellman's stats. I vividly remember how he flashed/"broke out" at the end of the 1993 season for the Houston Oilers (as Warren Moon's favorite 3rd down target) and I figured he'd most certainly be a longtime NFL receiver, with the chance to start, perhaps? Did not happen, not even close. After putting up very modest stats in 1994, he was gone from the NFL for good at the age of 27. Wellman was a smaller receiver, which means he could've possibly fit in much better in the modern day NFL as a slot receiver -- say 2009 to current times due to the Wes Welker effect.

But, as we noted, while it's become easier for white slot receivers these days to make it in the NFL, it's become even harder for white outside receivers (split ends & flankers).....I think one of the reasons the NFL has become a bit more "white friendly" for white slot receivers, is because they are basically taking the place of white fullbacks in the line up. White split ends & flankers are likely having a tougher time, due to the fact that are vying for "black positions". This is probably why, as talented as he is, David Sills has a much tougher road to NFL success than Hunter Renfrow?


P.S: Speaking of UCLA. I've mentioned Sean LaChapelle. Seven years after he left school, the Bruins had an even better NFL prospect in Danny Farmer. He was a dual-sport star (football & volley ball), son of an NFL wide receiver and was very athletic and super productive in college. I figured, like David Sills, he would be slam dunk 1st or 2nd round pick. He lasted until the 4th round, drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bad break. At that time the Steelers had a GM (Tom Donahue?) that was somewhat fair to whites at "caste positions" and drafted the likes of Farmer, Scott Shields, Jeremy Staat, Aaron Smith and a couple others fairly high. Problem was, Cowher had a roster full of angry blacks and had no trouble screwing them over, if it meant appeasing his angry, child-like blacks.

Farmer's career took a quick negative turn when he was "assaulted" by low IQ, racist thug Plaxico Burress in practice. Both were rookie receivers at the time for Pitt. From there Farmer bounced around for a while, had modest success in Cincinnati until Marvin X was hired. Cucky Gruden finally cleansed him from the league at an early age. Steelers really had some angry blacks at that point, just ask rising white star receiver Patrick Jeffers, right after signing a huge contract (for that era) with Panthers he took a direct (likely intentional) hit to the knee cap (patella) in a meaningless pre-season game from Steelers safety Chad Scott, who reportedly had a terrible temper and the IQ of a lamp post.

Miss St QB Nick Fitzgerald ran TE drills during his pro day. Predictable that they would want him at TE rather than see if he could be an outside WR.

Haven't seen anything positive posted about AJO and the Ohio proday (thanks to Shadowlight for tracking them down) - can't give white players any positive buzz now can we?

One of the supposed rumors is that 12 TEs may be projected to go in the top 125 picks or so. I don't know if I believe that but it is a position white players are dominant in this year. These are the TEs with the best shot at getting drafted:

Kaden Smith
Dawson Knox
Jace Sternberger
Kahale Warring
Drew Sample
Foster Moreau
Dax Raymond
Tommy Sweeny
Isaac Nauta
Andrew Beck

Would be great to see all of these players get drafted to boost up the average 55 or so white players who get drafted every year.

No doubt one of the great white TE classes in memory.

Just got juiced up an extra mile. Dawson Knox of Ole Miss , who looked so fluid and athletic at the combine just blasted a 4.51 unofficial 40 yard dash.

Could he slip into the first round? There are so many to choose from this draft. An embarrassment of riches.

UCONN WR Kyle Buss who led his team in receiving yards and receptions all while playing with a non QB ran a 4.49 40 at his pro day. Chances of getting drafted of someone who at least should be considered a 7th round flier? Below zero.

One under the radar TE is Oklahoma’s Carson Meier (6’5 255lbs), he was OU’s more traditional tight end unlike Mark Andrews or Grant Calcaterra and he never really saw action til his senior year. He produced a solid stat line of 19-327-4 for a average of 17.2 per reception. He ran a 4.87 and will likely find himself in a camp in a few months.

Texas A&M FB/Special teamer Cullen Gillaspia showed that he is very athletic too. He ran a 4.57 that was originally reported as a 4.48, the man can fly and would be a great gunner to have on special teams. He had a badass touchdown run in his last game and is very versatile (switched to FB from LB for his senior year). Also in high school he was an interesting position combo of LB/KR (hence the great speed), he was an all district return specialist at 6’2” 215lbs.

UCONN Slot receiver Kyle Buss had a nice pro day too, Nick Williams flashbacks anyone?? Unfortunately only 2 NFL teams were in attendance but one of them was the Patriots. Interesting.

Overlooked Kansas Slot/RB/KR Ryan Schadler had a nice pro day too after an injury filled career where he wasn’t used to his best abilities. He was timed between 4.39-4.5 and he received an invite to the Chiefs local pro day. I could see this guy cracking a roster as a return man and maybe eventually getting to play receiver. He was a sprinter at Wichita State before he transferred to Kansas.

Kansas had mistakenly moved ex RB Schadler to WR and the experiment failed. They even took him off return duties last season the one area he excelled in.

They jerked him around and he ended up in nowhere land. This is becoming more frequent with white skill players and often too much moving around minimizes their talents. I just can't see Schadler at this point making a roster as a return man since there are other return men ahead of him, several of them white.

That said I certainly hope things turn out well for this former sprinter.

One terrific college S turned LB Utah's Chase Hansen will likely not get drafted. He pulled out of their pro day and revealed he had played the second half of the season with a herniated disc.

Odds are long now. While I don't go crazy over his age ( many scouts do) at 25, Hansen has had a lengthy history of injuries. At some point the alarm bell sounds. It isn't that I don't think he has NFL talent but even I, due to the fact that there are plenty of other white LBs to choose from in this draft, would steer clear.

Schadler is a guy I’ve been pretty high on and I think he’ll surprise some people, I could see it happening. All of Schadlers numbers are pretty solid, he would’ve been 3rd at the combine for WR’s on the bench with 23 (behind N’Keal Harry and DK Metcalf). He was also named special teams MVP of some small all-star game a few months ago. It’s kinda surprising to me that I can find way more draft things about him than Scott Miller. Schadler seems like a really good and hardworking guy and he overcame a pretty unusual surgery. His athleticism likely stems from his high school days as a 3 sport athlete (basketball, track, football). Im very glad to see he got invited to workout for the Chiefs, and I wish him the best of luck in the NFL.

I will give you this Red Raider. Kick returners are sometimes not drafted but out of all the positions they might have a better chance of latching on to an NFL team although often it is only for a short while.

I think he is the Senior Bowl head but as I was bouncing around twitter posts Jim Nagy must be breathing in some clean caste free air of late.

First he compares TE Dawson Knox to George Kittle and gives him an easy first round grade.

He thinks WR Hunter Renfrow is capable of catching 90 plus balls a year in the NFL.

He likes Chase Winovich a lot but who doesn't.

He says nothing is more overrated for RBs than a 40 time stating the short burst ability is much more important. And of course there are a host of other important factors.

Additionally I might add for DEs the most important number is the 10 yard split. The 40 yard dash for DEs means practically nothing in terms of play on the field. Just a tool the caste world brings up to hype overrated black DEs. Agility tests are more useful than a 40 too.

He thinks QB Daniel Jones should be grouped together with Murray, Haskins and Lock. I actually grade Jones the highest because like Alex Smith he has the makings (physical and mental) of a QB who will start for a long time in the NFL. Not saying he will be a superstar but he should be a solid and dependable player. Long term he is the safest bet in my opinion.

Refreshing to hear clear minded reporting amidst the usual BS we have been subjected to throughout this draft build up process.

PS: Might not see his name popping up on a lot of mocks but DE/LB Ty Summers is a legitimate 240 plus pounds. If he was a few inches taller we might be talking about an early round (possible first round) pick. He is 6'1" and like Sutton Smith should be a dangerous attack player. TFLs here we come.

Trying to get a read on his draft status is tough so I will put him atop my sleeper list.

I agree that the white slot has descended into a niche. There was always that element associated with it as Welker was often stereotyped.While they don't look like fullbacks those three yard dink and dunk passes to slots almost serve the same purpose. The media has "accepted" the notion of white slots but the system is still shouting out leave the big boy long passes hauled in to the black "athletes" with speed as opposed to the quickness in a closet that is so often cited when white slot receivers are being discussed. Cripes should every pattern say Cole Beasley runs be a three yard turn and catch? Often white slots have to catch a ball with literally no space to run.

That said it is still great to see white players playing any sort of receiver and it beats fullback any day.

I thought WR Danny Farmer was the next great white hope. He was scintillating at UCLA but things went south in a hurry. The combine wasn't covered like it is today but word got out his 40 yard dash wasn't great and this was in the teeth of peak caste period circa 2000. Although he was a great leaper with terrific size 6'3-4" 210 plus and agility that scored on deep patterns at UCLA, Farmer was stigmatized. Truthteller above delineates his NFL woes.

According to this article the two teams most interested in Isabella are the Patriots and Packers. Given the stark change in direction the Packers have been taking, there's no question New England would be a great landing spot for Andy, though I'd also like to see them draft David Sills, especially if Chris Hogan leaves, which is looking more and more likely. If they take either one I'll be happy.

The Andy Isabella-to-the-Patriots train isn’t slowing down any time soon.

According to Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com, New England is showing considerable interest in the former UMass wideout. Pauline became the latest to tie Isabella to the Pats during an appearance on the Bleav Podcast Network.

He said: “Two teams I left out — who a number of people tell me who are really interested in him — are the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers. The Patriots make sense in so many ways. This is their type of receiver. A little bit shorter, a little bit undersized, but incredibly quick, incredibly creative, fast; a guy who can produce when the ball is in his hands running after the catch, as well as lining up as a return specialist.”

The 5-foot-9 receiver shined at the NFL Combine in early March. He ran a 4.31 in the 40-yard dash, clocked an impressive 6.95 in the three-cone and leapt 36.5 inches for his vertical jump. Over his final collegiate season, Isabella led the FBS with 1,698 receiving yards, tied for second in catches with 102 and scored 13 touchdowns.

He is projected to become a second or third-round pick in April’s draft. New England holds a pair of second-rounders and three third-round picks.

The Patriots receiving corps currently consists of Julian Edelman, Phillip Dorsett, Braxton Berrios, Bruce Ellington, Maurice Harris and Damoun Patterson.

During a recent return to UMass last week, Isabella said: “Everyone around here is a Patriots fan. They all tell me they want the Patriots to draft me.”

Yes, Shadowlight, you are correct the media has "accepted" the notion of white slots and that is a good thing. But it's only because they are replacing the fullback or tight ends on the field of 11. For the last 30 years (or more) the "system" has allowed whites to occupy the following positions on offense: Quarterback, fullback, tight end/H-Back and all five offensive line positions. However, the unwritten rule is that the two outside receivers and tailback positions are reserved for blacks only.

So, if the white slot receiver is merely replacing a white tight end or white fullback on the field of 11, it has little effect on the Caste system. While we frequently mention the likes Beasley, Humphries, Amendola, Switzer and some others, we must not forget the vast majority of primary slot receivers are still black. So the "slot receiver" trend might even help the "anti-whites" a bit because there is a greater percentage of white tight ends and fullbacks than white slot receivers.

As far as LaChapelle and Farmer, they are similar to David Sills and I hope he fares much better than those two. But if he drops to the 5th round (like LaChapelle) then that could be very bad news. Like LaChapelle and Farmer, Sills is someone most assumed coming into the season (even the DWF's), would be a sure fire top 60 pick. All of sudden "draft experts" are talking 4th or 5th round at best? Weird how history tends to repeat itself, in a negative way, for these talented, tall white wide receivers from top major conference schools.

Red raider, this is why I have noted repeatedly these players should attend Regional Combines if they want a better chance to break the Caste system. Running a laser timed 40 on a NFL sanctioned track carries much more weight than Pro Day times, which scouts tend to discount due to various reasons (surface rigidity, outdoor conditions, stop watch holder, ect).....But more importantly you get to talk to scouts from all 32 teams. As I mentioned in a post last week, schools like Maine, Dartmouth, Harvard and New Hampshire usually only get one scout (Patriots due to proximity)....But I'm very surprised a FBS school like Connecticut only gets 2! Basically, Buss' 40 time will be deemed irrelevant because he did it at Pro Day in front of only two scouts. He might as well start sending his game tapes to Canada? Note to Buss' agent: Ottawa seems to be a bit less hostile towards whites than your average all-black team (i.e. Calgary Stampeders) in Justin Trudeau's marxist utopia?

Of course, if Buss was black, it would be a different story. Word of an excellent 40 showing at Pro Day would spread like a wildfire to all 32 NFL teams and he'd probably be brought in for several personal workouts.

With only a handful of pro days left next week (8 teams) I can only think of WR Trent Irwin as a player off the top of my head whose workout is of any interest. RB Sam McPherson will also be working out but he will be ignored. Put that to the bank.

So this blabber mouth (me ha) won't be posting much on this thread until around the week of the draft when things heat up again.

As far as white players:

While there are some obvious horror spots including RB and ( as usual) CB I am hoping two white safeties get drafted. And the WR situation is in flux. Will it be just two ( unacceptable) or will it climb to four or even five with a wildcard added on?

The QB spot is solid if not spectacular.

The TE class is loaded and then some.

But what really separates this draft class from recent previous drafts is the large and very athletic contingent of front seven players. Studs abound!! And heaven knows we need to see more white defenders in the NFL.

So my anticipation and excitement for this draft is much higher than in recent years. Obviously most all of us have a soft spot for WR Isabella but combine the intrigue of where our favorite players land and the overall amount of terrific white talent up for grabs I am trying to stay optimistic.

Another key is how many of the white sleepers and players not on many mocks that hopefully slip in. I mean if some team with brains and balls go for WR Scott Miller I will be jumping for joy but these type of delightful surprises are few and far between.

But at least potentially, we could be looking at a banner draft, relatively speaking of course.

Isabella, Sills, and Renfrow are all locks to me but I also said that about Trey Quinn last year and thought Jake Weineke would get picked. I’m a little more confident in these 3 though, they’ve been on the radar for a while. I’m undecided on Cody Thompson because I don’t know what the teams think about him or see him as, obviously I’d love to see him used like Thielen but I think he could fill a role similar to Cooper Kupp. For Scott Miller he 1000% deserves to be a 5th round pick but will likely go undrafted unless there is any smart team out there that sees that he is a better version of Marquise Brown. Imagine if Miller got to play with 2 heisman winners instead of some low tier quarterbacks?

Thanks for the link Bucky. More decent info there than on any of the other sites/forums. My guess is Michael Walker is getting a predraft meeting with the Raiders due to Mayock being a BC alumni and perhaps Walker caught his eye. Would be great to see Walker get drafted.

No problem and good observation. Totally forgot about the BC connection, let's hope it can get him into a camp!

There's a site called Draft Network. It's scouting reports appear to be very caste and stereotypical when it comes to white players.

You'll see what I mean in their report on Andy Isabella, which never once mentions his exceptional speed. It says his 4.31 speed is "effective," not giving an accurate assessment of his speed.

To get Combine and Pro Day numbers you can go to Kent Lee Platte's RAS charts. The RAS is a single number describing athleticism taking into account size and weight.

As Crosby’s former high school teammate I can say the dude is an athletic freak. I was a wide receiver in high school and I was a good amount faster than him but I didn’t know he was a 4.65 guy. I would’ve thought he was around a 4.8 range. I’m a excited for him as he will be the 2nd person from my high school drafted after Christian Ponder. Fun fact: Crosby’s brother used to be a safety for SMU, he also made 6 figures as a high school Calvin Klein model, bit he quit the 6 figure modeling job in order to play college football.

I actually decided to stick with my combine numbers. Haha

But on a real note it’s not like I was super fast or anything, Crosby just definitely wasn’t as fast he is now back in high school. The staff at Eastern Michigan did a great job unlocking his potential.

I appreciate it guys, when I decided to stop being a lurker a year or two ago I figured I could provide some interesting posts here. I feel I have an interesting perspective since I’ve played against a good amount of guys who are entering the NFL around these past few years (Jamal Adams, Lil Jordan Humphrey, Connor Williams, Demarkus Lodge, just to name a few).
