I couldn't resist checking Weenieworld. They're still on the Mahomes bandwagon, to put it mildly. Compare their Mahomes blurb, which reads like squealing teenage girls writing about the Beatles in 1964, and the bitchy blurb about Brady. And they're pissed at the OT rules lol. Who won the game again?:
Patrick Mahomes completed 16-of-31 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns in the Chiefs' 37-31, overtime AFC Championship Game loss to the Patriots. Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense was barely functional in the first half, generating just 65 passing yards as the Pats built up a 14-0 lead. It was a completely different story after the break, but the Chiefs couldn't quite complete the comeback, shamefully not even getting the ball in the extra period. The NFL has needed to fix that rule for decades. It was a disappointing end to Mahomes' historic sophomore season. Only the second player in NFL history to have a 50-touchdown, 5,000-yard campaign, Mahomes drew comparisons to basically every Hall-of-Fame quarterback of the modern era. He is a unique talent who can do things that have never been done on an NFL football field. Still only 23, Mahomes could become the highest-paid player in league history as early as the 2020 offseason. He is in his own stratosphere as a fantasy quarterback.
Tom Brady completed 30-of-46 passes for 348 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Patriots' 37-31, overtime AFC Championship Game victory over the Chiefs. Brady alternated struggles with huge completions to Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski, making just enough big plays for the Patriots to advance to their third straight Super Bowl and remarkable ninth of the Brady/Bill Belichick era. Brady was lucky to escape with only two picks, as he had a third called back by a (valid) offsides penalty. As they have done in recent vintage, the Pats rode their running game, taking pressure off Brady and an undermanned receiver corps. The formula could be similar in Super Bowl LIII against the Rams, as Wade Phillips' defense allowed over five yards per carry this season.
