It's hard to believe Peyton Hillis and that 2010 season was already 8 years ago.

I still pull up the Hillis highlights from 2010. Man, what an enjoyable season that was. Incredible player who's only mistake was that he dared to ask to be compensated fairly....

Looking forward to Brady, Edelman, Gronk and Hogan putting in a show tonight on national TV. Probably won’t be much of a game after the first half........anybody heard anything about Burkhead’s recovery?

Burkhead isn't eligible to come off IR for a while yet, another month give or take.

Josh Gordon was late for a meeting and then the team bus on Sunday, and his "punishment" reportedly is to be benched for a quarter or two tonight. He's supposedly on a very tight leash, but the Patriots are bending over backwards to try to have him reach his limitless upside -- achieved for only a brief period five years ago -- but if Gordon is already screwing up his stay with the Patriots may not last much longer.

Gordon just doesn't get it. He's a foul up, and its incredibly frustrating that any team let alone the Pats would waste their time on this idiot... Meanwhile Janis, Abbrederis, Billingsly, Proehl, Westerkamp, and a plethora of others can't buy an opportunity....

Excellent coverage by Milano on Gronk. Athletic play to break up the Brady pass.

I completely forgot about football yesterday, only just now I realized that I haven't caught up on it (scores are easy to miss if one stays away from TV). Every other week I tune in for some McCaffrey action and usually end up disappointed. Thielen's record is a pleasant surprise, one of the very few positives of the season.

It looks like it's going to get darker next season as well, very little incentive to follow football actively, to be honest.

Same here backrow, especially last year. However, because I check CF football daily unless I'm busy with work, I have watched a little more NFL this year because of the information CF posters put out about white players. Last year, I never really watched the NFL, except maybe the Patriots or Minnesota. Now, like you and because I live in NC, I get to see CM every week, but like you I'm generally disappointed with how Carolina uses him.
I said after the first game that I wouldn't make negative comments about the use of CM, but it's difficult to watch Carolina wasting his talent. With the exception of 2-3 weeks, they have used him primarily as a decoy. Ever since CM had the break out game a few weeks ago, his touches have diminished, except yesterday, but it was only at the end of the game when they ran him 5-6 times in a row right up the middle. Never mind that it killed his ypc average. It could have gotten him injured late in the game when it was already decided. Cam gets to run fake hand offs to CM and run around the ends when everyone including my daughter knows what's going to happen. Even the back up CJ Anderson got to run a couple of toss sweeps. I don't think CM got one chance to hit the corner. Makes no sense.
Anyway, I'm thankful for the knowledgeable posters here at CF. I just try and watch the games where teams give white players an opportunity.

At least everyone gets to see how putrid the Bills o-line is. I cannot reiterate how happy I am to see Derek Anderson up there. Keep Allen on the bench the rest of the year - let the kid develop and learn and then address the terrible "talent" assembled in the offseason.

There is also news that the Bills are going to sign Terell Pryor - you can't make this stuff up. They screwed over Reilly and Proehl and are bringing in scrubs.

Milano has been playing Lights Out!

Kyle Williams still playing at High level in his 13th Year!

Brady hits Hogan in stride; showing off the wheels for 29 yards!

Of course Edelman the Heart n Soul of the Patriots ...totally different offense with him!

Good to see Simon in making an impact too!

Jackson and Haley fired????
Hmmm

I find it funny how Tessitore is trying make it sound like Mayfield is in some sort of danger with the coaching change. My guess is the Browns try to identify a Sean McVay type coach for Mayfield.

Cordarrelle Patterson doesn't seem to know what the play is half the time. And Gordon couldn't catch a deep ball in the first quarter that any decent receiver would have. In fact, he's shown me nothing so far in his stint with the Patriots -- doesn't get separation, hands aren't very good, doesn't even look smooth. New England's trying to resuscitate a bonehead player who has been out of the league for far too long to recapture his long ago fleeting stardom, not too mention his heavy substance abuse all these years.

What a frustrating game for the Patriots! They are killing all of the anti-caste fantasy football players. We need Brady, Gronk, Edelman, Hogan, yards/points!!

Hogan's role has been reduced to the way he was underused when he played for the Bills.

I think every team can bring two players off IR early every year........I was hoping that Burkhead would get that after Michel went down. It’s starting to look like the Patriots will just release him. His injuries are frustrating.........

They have to stay on IR a minimum of 8 weeks. Burkhead was put on IR before the Week 4 games if memory serves, if so the earliest he could be activated is Week 12, which is another month give or take.

I'm looking at that article and it states eight weeks. You're right that the rule was changed to allow two players to be brought back instead of one, but where does it say they can be brought back in less than eight weeks? From the article:

Not everyone who ends up on IR has to see their season end for good. Players must remain on IR for eight weeks before being eligible to rejoin their teams in Week 9 via the IR-Return Designation. The NFL changed the IR-return designation in 2017 so that teams are allowed to bring two players back from IR. Previously, the rule allowed just one player to return from the list. This was a great change for teams as most clubs have more than one injured player capable of returning at some point in the season.

The Patriots were sleep walking last night but can you blame them? The Bills are atrocious especially on offense. I agree with Don's assessment of WR Gordon. Looks clumsy and slow.

But you realize how important Edelman is to this team. Clutch play after clutch play last night. And he was getting hammered. I think the hot shot rookie Bills LB Edwards tried to skull him too---if it wasn't Edelman it was another Patriot player?

Also even though WR Hogan was ignored for most of the game he caught a nifty long pass late and ended up with a 2-49 stat line. May not seem like much but I prefer chunk yardage stat lines for a player like Hogan as opposed to say a 7-34 stat line. Interesting to note Hogan has only missed one target the last three games and his stats are starting to creep back up again. He is not targeted much at all but takes full advantage when the ball is thrown to him. His last three game stat lines are as follows--2-49, 6-63, 4-78. This could be the result of having Edelman back and allowing Hogan to run deeper routes which is more natural for him. Not "breaking out" yet but some small positives to take away the past few weeks.

Edelman's numbers would have been even better if a couple of big catches hadn't been called back because of holding penalties on the sumo right tackle.
