We can take Shadowlight off suicide watch now
Ha.
Pardon my language but Day three of the draft was bat **** crazy. And kudos all around to everyone who participated. I read every post and each day the posts got more and more enjoyable. Some of you should consider the comedy circuit like La France. Don may have had the best zingers comparing that dithering prick from the NFL network to one of the Three Stooges but the best might have been the Milli Vanilli namecheck.
And Free nailed "coconut rugby player" right on the head. WTF talk about a joke pick. You would think these teams would show a level of professionalism but too many teams play games rather than pick worthy white players.
Thrills and spills and last second rescues( sort of) describe this wacky races ( an old cartoon for those old enough to remember) of a draft. And of course the human interest story that took up half of the day---you just knew a white skill player would get washed to shore and become a victim of friendly fire once Griffin was picked ( Justin Watson).
As someone who thinks he is the best white WR draft expert out there I thought hell the one SURE SHOT, Trey Quinn, was looking like a lost cause. But it goes back to something I mentioned yesterday regarding caste soaked teams like the Colts and the Packers. The Packers might have lost Aaron Rodgers for good on this draft. Instead of picking a true pro like Quinn they decided on a very raw weirdly named clown from ND and a tall slow (he looks fast on tape they tell us) WR from the gimmicky Big 12.
For years they have been bitching about Jeff Janis being so called too raw and what do they do they turn around and downgrade with a super raw guy. They couldn't wait to kick Jordy's ass out of town. This new crew at Green Bay are taking a page right out of the Giants playbook that calls for caste full steam ahead 24/7.
Even ESPN admitted Trey Quinn does not fit the label of Mr. Irrelevant. EP is correct Jarvis Landry is a good comparison.
But as I and everyone else figured Quinn would get nabbed in the 5th I did mention Austin Proehl coming on strong and in one of the biggest and best surprises of the night he got picked right before Quinn. Players at this stage of the draft have trouble sticking but these are two different cases. Proehl's dad Ricky has been with him through the entire draft process and works out with him. This will only increase his chances of sticking and what a delight it would be to see Josh Allen and Proehl make a dynamic duo!
And Quinn is just too damn good to ignore. Cannot believe that so many lousy looking black WR's got picked ahead of him.
On the bright side versatile Cantrell got picked around where most figured. When was the last time the Chargers drafted a white WR?
And Justin Watson got picked a bit earlier than predicted and while the NFL network noted his 4.4 speed, Todd McShay ( who everyone here justifiably can't stand) said he lacked speed. McShay came onto the scene as one of these new wave white bashing so called draft experts. He is nothing but a white punk and a caste prick. Even when commentating on Apke he went into monotone, mentioned a good combine workout and nothing much else. The diagnosis was beyond limp. Compare that to his sexual slathering of black athletes. Will someone just sweep this clown off the floor once and for all?
Have to figure Brady had a hand in getting Braxton Berrios. A Rhodes Scholar type he will have no problem following the plan. Sterling pick by the Pats. They were not about to draft one of those clueless black "upside" WRs who can't run a proper pattern if it landed on them.
And Jon Gruden pulled some magic out of his hat. As the Cowboys foolishly traded for punk Tavon Austin Gruden STEALS away Switzer.
With Jordy and Switzer, who Gruden loved when he was doing MNF, the Raiders are looking WAY UP.
Yesterday as mentioned some solid TE's got chosen and Jewell landed in Denver. Overall the defense situation still stinks but going into the season it looked like there was a chance zero white WRs would be chosen but nearly a year later 5 were taken. So if I gave a B + to last year's draft I am giving this one an A-. Those last two picks back to back belly to belly were surreal but I kept thinking both the Bills and the Redskins needed a WR so I figured Quinn. When it was Proehl then Quinn I thought I had a few too many.
Josh Allen might not ever turn into a pin point Charlie type of passer but he has enough in his tool box to win. One thing everyone is overlooking is his stunning athletic ability. He will kill opponents with his legs too . Wild card pick that could end up being a big timer if he can iron things out is QB Tanner Lee of the Jags. He has the raw talent.
And last and certainly not least the Redskins stepped to the plate and snatched Troy Apke. Figuring I would have to sweat out Apke all afternoon long I was just getting ready to do something in the kitchen when I thought I saw his name flash up during an ad but thought is that right? 4th round? But around 10 seconds later it was verified. I was jumping around like a crazy man. A SWEET MOMENT IN TIME!!!! Yes EP I am happy.
