I see the RSA man came third against the women in the 1500m taking a medal away from a real woman Laura Muir. Cudos for Simpson in running a great race for 2nd and coming within a stride of 1st. Debaba the PED queen finished dead last, I guess the PED's have worn off and are not in her system anymore.

The cool named Hungarian gets third in the 110m hurdles! You guys forgot about him..lol Lemaitre looked like he was dying after his 200m, gasping for air like a fish out of water. Even not is top shape he should be able to crank 20.20's in his sleep with not much effort and not looking like he is dying.

Lemaitre always looks like he's dying after 200 (but he's usually had a better time). The cool aid's usually all gone by the time he's ready to drink it.

Semenya literally loped home to third and robbed Muir of a third place cheque and probable bonuses from sponsors. Even if they sort out this mess X years down the road the moment will be lost when Muir and the women in the 800 from Rio get their medals in the mail and never receive the monetary rewards they should have earned.

Adding to that, Tortu is through! He beat out Jamaican Olympian medalist Warren Weir by the thickness of a piece of paper. Time wasn't great, though. He's an injury-free year away from making real noise.

So I'll rate the chances as I did for the Olympics.

1) Guliyev. I continue to see him having a good shot at a medal.
2) Talbot. Don't be shocked if he makes the final.
3) LeMaitre--very slender chance of making final. Not in shape for a medal.
4) Tortu--also very slender chance of final.
5) Volko--I expect him to be eliminated in the semis.
I expect Guliyev and Talbot to make the final and Lemaitre to have a chance because of experience. The others will need the race of their careers to make the final.

Guliyev has a legitimate shot to medal as the medals should be wide open. Even Van Niekerk might not be superman with a hard 400 meter final the day before the 200 meter semifinal.

it's Guliyev's big chance, isn't it - no Bolt, no DeGrasse.
I think Christophe has big Kahunas for the big meets - I think he can still dip under 20.30 but can he do it twice? - lack of preparation counts hard against him.

here's hoping young 17 year old Aussie Riley Day performs to her best against Dafne and co. in the 1st heat of the 200. She's 1.5 seconds slower but if the head is right she'll learn from the experience. She's not a city girl but daughter of a Queensland farming couple - seems very matter of fact and down to earth. Athletics Australia gave her a wild card entry to get international experience

gotta imagine she is going to be a big bundle of nerves with the Dutch giant beside her :) she can slingshot off of Daphne for a good time and placing or she can cave....I think she will do well...big thumbs up.

You know in swimming I guess you can catch a good current next to a speedy opponent. Is that true I wouldn't know? Slingshot ha that does make me laugh. Two white chicks slingshot each other on their way past the blacks. Lets hope the young one Riley Day slingshots or piggybacks or plain and simple just doesn't freak out and turtle it to make it into the next round and beyond.

I just noticed the heats are over and the young Australian Riley Day didn't make it through. The turtle jumped up and bit her. Two did make it through. A Greek women who probably has no chance and our poster girl Dafne Schippers. I do not want to jinx her by saying she should win but it is worth pointing out Dafne ran the fastest preliminary time. Again that can be misleading but at least so far so good from a very important athlete in terms of caste. Semis and Finals are Thursday. Go Dafne Go!!!!!

Pierre-Ambroise Bosse (White, France) and Adam Kszczot (White, Poland) went 1, 2 in the 800 meter run, a distance where good White performers are never rare.

Also, in the 3,000 metre steeple, where Whites have disappeared over the last two or three decades, Evan Jager (White, USA) took 3rd, barely a second away from the winner (Kipruto, Kenya).

According to the Urban Dictionary a Swamp Donkey is.....A very ugly, usually fat girl who hangs around in bars and clubs waiting to sexually assault males who are too drunk to defend themselves. It seems fitting, I'm old fashioned myself and would have just called them Welfare Queens, but to each his own...

On a more serious note Whites went 1-2 and a hard charging 4th from a junior age runner in the 800.

While I am glad that it was a one two punch in the 800M I think that the caste world does not view that race as a sprint. For most it is in the land of nowhere. Too long to be considered a sprint and too short to be considered a distance race. For caste world the 800M is quickly dismissed unless of course blacks are winning and showing well. If I had to pick one or the other I would say the longest sprint and that these 800 M runners would have transferable speed in sports like baseball and football. But at the end of the day what I think is not important because the 800M does not move the caste world needle like the 100M and 200M.The 400M as well because it is recognized as the premiere long sprint event. But congrats nonetheless.

lololololol this is a site supporting WHITE ATHLETES not negros, sorry dude don't mean to spark your torch lol

mate, I must say we're all here to support and follow progress of white sprinters because they don't usually get much press.
But I certainly love watching (and have nothing against) great black athletes. Credit where it's due surely

I agree as I have nothing against a great negro athlete who conducts their business in a respectful manner. I.E. Van Niekirk, Felix etc

Most 800 Meter runners have very good sprint speed, most elite Male 800 meter guys can run 21 in the 200 and some under 21.

Why does supporting White Athletes always have to mean being against non White Athletes?
I am not against "non white athletes" but I cannot support self entitled non white athletes just as I will not support self entitled white athletes. Get over it....

fingers crossed for Karston Warholm in the 400mh final today. I hope he does not go out like a fireball like he did in the semi's as I feel he would get caught in the last 20-25m but he is young and full of fire so who really knows how he will approach this race.
I must say however he is quite the character and a lot of fun to watch! :)

Really hoping our guys in the 200m semis can all advance, it will be difficult. I see Guliyev, Talbot making the final and maybe Tortu if he has the conditioning possibly he can relax and drop his PB into the 20.15's..I know big hope but he has the talent to do so. Based on his form I do not think Lemaitre will make it through but with him you never know :) He could come out guns a blazin and put down a solid 200m. One can hope..right?

Volko, don't think so but in the next fears years with some form tweaks this kid is going to be amazing!

The third semi is like a stacked final.....
