Nice job with the Run Down...

How many Patrick Laird's are there across the U.S. playing HS Football being overlooked by Recruiters & asked to just Walk on?? Props to him! 191 yards rushing on just 12 carries & 3 TD's!! The Starter got hurt...where have we heard this before??

Props to Illinois Freshman Mike Epstein 114 yards on 22 carries

Oregon State is pretty bad...Ryan Nall just 7 carries for 31 yards early 4th...the putrid Defense puts them Behind the 8 Ball playing catch up forced to Pass...

Didn't get to see the Wake Forest game..is Cade Carney being used properly? He's NOT a Fullback... Had 40 yards rushing on 13 carries & TD...BC is a decent Defense...

After a nice performance last week (6 carries for 79 yards)...How is Nathan Cottrell rewarded?? Mostly token carries in garbage time...just 4 for 17 yards

Maryland RB Jake Funk had 3 carries for 32 yards including a 25 yard TD

What happened to Army RB Andy Davidson?
Air Force had a BYE Week

FCS Max Norris (Western Illinois) had 103 yards rushing on 23 carries & TD

For some reason Nall didn't start.....wtf
Davidson doesn't even share carries with Woolfork like last year.....wtf.
I watched the GA a Tech game and the Army game.....Cottrell was passed up by a guy that was hurt last week, plus JJ Green got more carries even though he coughed up the game last week......Quaide W (now 3rd string)was even passed up by a freshman b back......The Davidson thing is a mystery, as is why Nall didn't start......Carney started but the other 2 guys had equal snaps......Carney had a decent run late to make his numbers not completely terrible.....TwentyTwo is right, big props to Laird and Epstein today.....The fact that we have this many backs to watch is a good thing.....Other than Love the Stanford backs suck.....Bisharat should have stuck it out with them........

Looks like Gary Andersen gave Nall a very short leash. Nall is being reduced to part of a RB rotation - if he were black he would be considered a bell cow running back much like Steven Jackson was during his time at Oregon St (they are very similar RBs). I hope Nall goes pro after this season. Nall is probably not going to reach 1000 yards rushing this year.

Oregon State HC Gary Andersen said that redshirt junior RB Ryan Nall is unlikely to see 25 carries a game.

We've received some conflicted messages from the Beavers when it comes to Nall's workload over the past few days. Artavis Pierce started over him against Minnesota on Saturday with OSU attempting to work their perimeter rushing game more heavily -- it did not work -- and after that defeat, Andersen referred to Nall as the team's "workhorse." It would now appear that "workhorse" no longer means what it used to, as Andersen indicated that Nall will probably see fewer than 25 touches a game while the Beavers roll with a rotation of Nall, Artavis Pierce and Thomas Tyner. We think this is forcing it a little -- Nall is the team's best back and best overall offensive weapon.

**** Andersen, he's a horrible HC and a cuck of a man. This will be his last year in Corvallis he's on a short leash himself , and hopefully we won't hear from this caste clown again.

*Nall is supremely talented, white version on Le'Veon Bell, if he wasn't white we all know he'd been crowned as a star RB as a freshman instead of getting jerked around..

Kyle Mcglaughlin, who was a freshman running back at Tulsa, transferred to Missouri Southern State, a division 2 school......He was on the radar last year and I was checking up on him....Some of you remember Zach Langer of Tulsa a couple years back who had some good games......Tough runner, decendant of Jim Langer.

Ryan Schadler of Kansas was hurt all of last year. He had a promising freshman year in 2015. He's been moved to receiver.....It appears that he's getting some looks....Check him out if you guys stumble on a KU game by accident......

James Johannesson, who was recruited as a back at Minnesota has transferred to North Dakota......He doesn't have any stats that I've found, but he's still young......another guy to keep an eye on over the next couple years......

Kade Remsberg, who had an Air Force scholarship last year can't be found on the roster.....Not sure what happened there.....Mission trip?

Nick Ralston who rushed for 1800 yards as a senior in high school and was recruited by Arizona St is a sophomore.....I see he had a few carries last week, I'm guessing as a fullback....He is now listed at 240 lbs. Up about 30 from high school.....
Sound familiar guys????

Kaiser Carlton got an offer from Western Michigan for 2017 and I've yet to see any info on him......Possible red shirt......

Cole Dubots, a running back recruit by Washinton St seems to have switched to LB.

I've got more people on my lists from the last few years to check up on.
Good guys to keep an eye on, every once in awhile we find a sleeper (Laird, this year)

Gary Anderson has certainly changed the culture of the Beaver's team as he promised to do. Indeed, he has put together a tribe that looks to be more at home in Polynesia, rather than the Pacific Northwest. From the defensive front-line to the backfield, Gary's culture shines through leaving fans hard-pressed to find any Captain Cook, Bligh, or mutineers of the Bounty look-a-likes.

Anderson is cutting-off his bulbous, rosacea laden nose to spite his face in the name of changing the culture (White culture?), as evidenced by all but benching the break-out bruiser with speed, Ryan Nall. In each of the first two games this season, Nall has had very positive yardage on his limited carries and catches.

Gary does not care about winning, and certainly not about featuring Ryan Nall, as he plans to doubled-down on feeding his hungry savages the ball, despite their lack luster performance. At least Gary will light the teams way to more losses with his bright red nose late into the season when the fog rolls through the Willamette valley, and into Reaser's Stadium.

I'm very happy to see Nall playing. The Oregon State Coach is an idiot if he keeps messing with this kid.
Nall has the potential to be another Peyton Hillis/Toby Gerhart Type Running Back but if he is on the right
team then look out. I could see him having a career similar or better than M.Alstott if an nfl believes in him. He
needs to be drafted to the right team and let him play for a decade or longer like J. Bettis and others. Ryan Nall
is a power back with excellent speed for a big man. Very dangerous runner. He has to play on Sundays!

Austin Kafentzis sighting today at RB for BYU. Utah's all time yards leader as a HS QB he's had to take a roundabout way to Provo but he's another guy to keep an eye on. Good size 4.5 speed.

Actually came in here to post about Epstein but coincidentally DS already hit the nail on it! Saw a depth chart projection released tonight that had him listed as the second string RB as a true frosh.

Another Power 5 school guy who will be getting carries this year is Patrick Laird of Cal. The RS-Junior was awarded a scholarship this offseason and is competing for the number two spot behind the incumbent starter. The old coaching staff tried to convert him to fullback but he is now at his more appropriate tailback position.

Additionally, Cal also has Billy McCrary III on scholarship although he had fallen behind Laird on the depth chart and was recently ruled out for the 2017 season due to injury...

About Patrick Laird--

An article at sfgate.com titled "Cal's Patrick Laird finally gets room to run"(Sep. 15 2017) says that despite being successful in high school, no school offered Patrick a scholarship.

"The 6-foot, 200-pound Laird had 4,551 yards and 50 touchdowns on the ground and added 47 catches for 734 yards and 11 touchdowns during three seasons at Mission Prep-San Luis Obispo. But Laird didn't receive a single scholarship offer."

The article says Laird was a former walk-on and was awarded a scholarship last month. Laird is a Pac-12 All-Academic selection majoring in business administration.

Why not a little video about Zane Dudek. Extra special talent. Also not bad in the mind department. Rhodes scholar material. See below mini profile about the start of his college career at Yale and his high school exploits.

I just wanted to point out that we have 2 white running backs in the top 9 rushers for the Pac 12. Both of these
guys have so few carries yet are still shining. The media may not give them the press but we will here at this forum.
Ryan Nall and Patrick Laird are both excellent running backs and they both have next level potential. Will the NFL
give these guys a chance? We shall see but I believe they both will stay in college for another year.

A little background on playing football at Yale, over at Steve Sailer's site he at one time had a jewish man posting there who had been an adjunct professor at Yale teaching English. He said the football players were his best students and the girls were the worst, dim and politically correct lunatics. He also said frequently the lunatic women would try and witch hunt the football players and believe it or not for an Ivy the administrators would step in to protect the players from the games the lunatics would initiate.

Coleman+Fox+Clemson+v+Virginia+Tech+-yuSGdm565Dl.jpg

Virginia Tech redshirt sophomore Coleman Fox is second on the team in rushing yards (211 yards on just 36 carries) and leads the team in yards-per-carry (5.9, which is over a yard more per-attempt than any other back on the team). he also has caught 5 passes. he led the team in rushing in the Clemson loss as well as the blowout wins over North Carolina and Old Dominion. he's done all this despite being the 4th-string tailback.

his head coach has noticed, but if his comments are accurate, don't count on Coleman moving up the depth chart any time soon:
(Va Tech head coach) Justin Fuentes: "I have been pleased with Coleman and what he’s done when he’s been in the game, and how he’s worked, so we’ll continue to push and bring him along," Fuente said. "I’m not going to discredit what he’s done because it was late in the game. When he’s had his opportunities, he has done well, so it’s certainly worth us considering and recognizing that he’s done a good job when he’s in there. I don’t know what that’ll lead to as we move forward. We’ll see how this week goes and evaluate it and go from there.”

it'd be hard for Fox to have done any better in the limited opportunities he's had, so one wonders what it takes for a (White) player to earn more reps ...

Hope Laird is given a Chance at the next Level. He is a solid all round back. If he was black hed be considered a solid pro prospect. As a white RB he will be given a shot at the practice squad and be called a "Potential special Teams contributer".

Ouellette and Laird should both eclipse 1ooo yards this year.

It is looking like Nall will not get that chance as he is splitting carries. He should eclipse 1000 total yards from scrimmage though which is a great achievement considering the team he is on. I personally think Nall should roll the dice and enter the draft - the next regime may be even less excited than the Andersen staff that the best RB on the roster (and one of the best in the PAC 12) is a white athlete. He should be a 4.5 guy and he has shown break away game speed time and again along with elusiveness that big backs typically do not have.

If Nall can consistently run 4.49 or better, then he should enter the draft. If not, come back for his final season and do nothing but work on his speed, and lose some weight if he needs to.

Gerhart ran what at the Combine, I think it was 4.51 after winning the Doak Walker Award, and still many of the self-proclaimed "experts" were recommending he play fullback. Nall really needs to run a 4.49, otherwise at his size you can pretty much bet he'll be pushed as an ideal NFL fullback or H-back who can also run the ball occasionally (meaning rarely).

Leonard ran a 4.49 if I recall. I remember Vermeil commenting and saying that he was going to run a 4.7 and he a good fullback and Leonard came out and ran sub 4.5. It didn't do him much good though - he never got and fair shot in St. Louis and than was relegated to third down duty for the rest of his career.

Nall might be typecast in the same way depending on what team ends up with. He reminds me lot Hillis. He's a huge running back and if he runs sub 4.5 his athleticism can't be questioned but the "experts".

Yeah Leonard ran a 4.49 and put up the most Bench press reps of all RBs in the draft. So basically an argument could be made that he had the top combination of size, strength and speed in draft among RBS. Is this not the whole argument AGAINST white RBs ? Utterly ridiculous. His Leonard Leap was the Stuff of Legend too.
