I see in the stat sheet, that at halftime Rex Burkhead has 3 receptions for 50 yards and 1 TD, and 7 rushes for 20 yds.

Took most of the the snaps with the first team......Pedestrian numbers rushing, but got them vs starters......The receiving TD will help his cause, for sure......

Plus Mike Gillislee has a prolonged hamstring injury that just might seal the deal for Rex if he doesn't return quickly. Remember Jonas Gray, who came out of nowhere a few seasons ago to run for 199 yards and 4 TDs for New England against Indy, then slept in and was late for practice a couple days later and essentially never touched the ball again for the Patriots. He was instantly dead to Belichick.

Don't know if its been mentioned, but the Dolphins Mike Hull has been named a starter at MLB!! With Kiko Alonso next to him, and Drew Morgan making the team they look intriguing. Sucks they lost Tannehill, but they got Jay Cutler who's not bad. All of a sudden the Fins don't look too shaby.

The Dolphins also just signed perennially underachieving Rey Maualuga. According to Weenieworld he'll be starting over Hull. Our Lads currently lists Moore, guard Ted Larsen and Alonso as the only White starters, and Larsen will probably go on IR with a biceps injury. I still expect Miami to be a very black team this season.

The Miami Herald expects MLB Rey Maualuga to be the Week 1 starter. Maualuga has been out of the league since March, but knows DC Matt Burke's scheme from their Cincy overlap. The Dolphins view Maualuga as an early-down upgrade on Mike Hull. Maualuga gives Miami a run stopper, but shouldn't play more than 30 snaps per game.

Maualuga is lousy. The DWFs will prefer him for no other reason than he's a non-white. DWFs hate white players.

Damn! I think Hull and Maualuga will battle for it the last 2 preseason games.

I couldn't sleep last night - ended up watching the Rams-Raiders replay after the 49ers - Broncos. Goff looked like a totally different QB than last year - really decisive and showed off a great arm - he throws a really pretty ball. The Cupp TD was due to a blown coverage - the DBs got tangled up at the line and Kupp ran wide open - Goff lofted a beautiful pass to him. Spruce did not see any balls thrown his way that I can recall though. Anthony Cioffi was getting some playing time late in the game for the Raiders - he delivered a few nice hits.

Watching the 49ers-Broncos it was pretty obvious that Semien is still ahead of Lynch in terms of mastery of the offense. I don't think Lynch played bad but Semien seemed to have a really strong command of the offense - going through his different reads quickly and carving up the 49ers defense. CJ Beathard looked pretty good - it is easy to see why Shanahan liked him - he was real athletic moving out on bootlegs and also very accurate. The Kittle TD was awesome - reminiscent of Jeremy Shockey.

I think Semien really benefitted by playing that one season with Manning. What an opportunity to have a mentor like that to learn from almost day-in and day-out. If those were private lessons, can you imagine how much they would've cost? That being said, it would not be good for Lynch to be a backup again going into his second season after being a high draft pick. If it stays that way and Denver does poorly, I wouldn't be surprised to see Elway move on from him and pick up one of the available QBs in next year's draft, of which there'll be a plethora of and probably just too tempting to pass up on.

I'm a believer in Jordan Lynch. The only way that he can improve is to see the field more. He has all the tools to be a stud
at the qb position. They also need to believe in him. Nothing against Semien but Lynch is the present and future. I just hope
he doesn't end up getting the Glennon treatment. Lynch deserves better as did Glennon.

I don't see this as that big of an issue at the moment. Semien is a young QB too so I think we should give him alot of credit from being a 7th round unheralded pick to developing into a quality QB in year three. Lynch still has time on his side and he has most certainly not embarrassed himself, he played well last year when asked so he is not a lost caused.

Why are the Steelers starting the black quarterback? Pretty disheartening to see this black quarterback push all around the league.

Big Ben is being rested and Landry Jones is injured. . . but Dodds of course is the DWFs' choice to replace Jones as the primary backup.

Thanks Don. Didn't know Landry was injured.

Simms is looking pretty good for the Falcons. Had a nice completion to Nick Williams. Crazy to see Matakevich, Chickillo and Watt on the field for the Steelers defense. I think the last time they had three white defensive starters was when I was still a fan with DE Aaron Smith, NT Chris Hoke and DE Brett Keisel many years ago.

Maualuga was released by the Bengals in March for being **** basically, yet gets penciled in as the starter :BangHead:. Mike Hull worked his ass off for that spot, and has impressed in pre-season. Take notice lurkers this is the caste system at play. The thing is Hull is white so he doesn't have "dat upside" that Maualuga has.
