I didn't realize that McCarron ran a 4.36 40-yard dash at Iowa's Pro Day workout and also had a 40.5-inch vertical leap. Another "Wes Welker Clone"...not. I'd love to see him eventually take over for Amendola, Edelman, or Hogan and turn into a superstar. It would be nice to see arch dullard, Bill O'Brien, regret cutting him...

Linebacker Trevor Reilly has been promoted from the practice squad and will primarily help out on special teams. Reilly was with the Dolphins earlier in the season but was cut.

Hopefully with the return of McClellin soon, the Pats will start fielding a Whiter defense again....or at least we can hope.

It helps both McClellin and Reilly that Donta Hightower is done for the season, both of whom can play his position. I remember Reilly making plays every time he was on the field for the Jets. He's been cut by 3 teams in the past, including the Pats. It would be great to see him shine...

With the signing of WR Jake Kumerow, the Patriots now have 6 white WR's in their organization: Chris Hogan, Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman, Reilly McCarron, Cody Hollister, and Jake Kumerow. Amazing!

I’m sure there are many teams that haven’t had 6 white WRs total in their organisation this century. You’d think teams would see the obvious link between the many white WRs and the sustained patriots success for the last 15 or so years but I guess not.

Thankfully, Chris Hogan’s shoulder injury wasn’t serious and won’t require surgery. He’ll use the bye week to heal, but could miss a game or two after that...

I noticed that Cassius “The Wigger” Marsh has been waived by the Pats and I’m hoping it’s a good sign for LB Trevor Reilly, who was getting increased snaps on defense when Marsh was injured. With Shea McClellin never returning from IR (concussion), Reilly is the only white defensive player who gets any PT, as safety Nate Ebner is a special teamer only. Since Reilly wears long sleeves, it’s difficult to tell when he enters the game. He wears #51.

RB Mike Gillislee was a "healthy scratch" for the 3rd straight week against the Dolphins. The "snap count" for the Patriots-Dolphins game shows Rex trending in the right direction:

Burkhead: 28
White: 18

All of these RB's have talent, but Burkhead is the most versatile due to his skills as a slot WR and larger frame for goal line carries. It took 4 years and 12 weeks, but Rex finally found an NFL team that will use his talents...

Chris Hogan supposedly could've played in the season finale against the Jets, but was held out to ensure his health during the playoffs.

It'll be great to see the Pats with Brady, 3 white OL, Gronk, Develin, Burkhead, Hogan, and Amendola on offense for another deep playoff run!

The revelations of this Patriot soap opera was a main point of discussion at my local sports talk station, so even in this far flung corner of the empire this story is getting traction. Part of that can be chalked up to Patriot-hate, popular amongst DWF's everywhere, but another teams internal squabbles rarely get this kind of attention. I don't doubt that there is some truth to it, Kraft, Brady, and Belichick, have been together for a while and every sports dynasty comes to an end.

They clearly messed up with the trade of Garrapalo, as it appears he would have been a good one for them, those are the kinds of missteps a winning organization makes as it begins to fade. I have seen that lately here with the Red Wings and their sudden fall from the top tier after being there so long. The Pats can end all that talk with a ring but anything short of that will embolden the haters.

Aside from screwing over then budding-superstar RB, Peyton Hillis, McDaniels had one of the most white friendly drafts of the past 30 years in 2010 (Tebow, Decker, and 3 white OL) but was apparently a "locker room cancer" that was hated by assistant coaches and white and black players alike. McDaniels has had very little success outside of New England, getting fired as the HC of the Broncos within 1.5 years and fired as the OC of the Rams after 1 season in 2011. McDaniels has worked with the "who's who" of white WR's (Eric Decker, Wes Welker, Chris Hogan, Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman, Austin Collie, and Nick Williams) in his career and will hopefully turn one of our guys into a superstar with the Colts. His offenses have also featured RB's Danny Woodhead and Rex Burkhead. We all thought that former Patriot OC and white-friendly PSU coach, Bill O'Brien, would create a NE-like squad with the Texans and it didn't happen. Instead, O'Brien transformed Gary Kubiak's white-friendly Texans roster into a detestable franchise outside of JJ Watt and a few white backups. I think McDaniels is different, as his time with the Rams in 2011 was allegedly reason the that Amendola was signed by the Pats in 2012. He always seemed to have a great relationship with Edelman, also. Additionally, many believe he was the reason the Pats gave Tim Tebow another chance in 2013. I'd love to see Andrew Luck resurrect his career with guys like this...

Patricia has only been with the Patriots, a squad with a coal black defense dating back 15+ years. His defenses have featured many white backups, but few white starters. OLB Rob Ninkovich was a long-time starter. Safety Steve Gregory started for two seasons. LB Dane Fletcher started a few games due to injuries. DE Trevor Scott started a few games, too. I know the DC is not in charge of player evaluations, drafting, or other personnel decisions...but it's not a good sign. Who knows, perhaps Patricia will develop Zenner?

The Patriots have been criticized for the Garoppolo trade but what were they supposed to do? Garoppolo was set to be a free agent at the end of the year. They would probably not be able to afford both him and Brady so they probably would have lost him. So they got what they could for him.

It seems to me the criticism of the Patriots for the Garoppolo trade is unwarranted.

I see both as positive. Apparently, the new GM of Detroit is serious about them becoming more like NE, even though Patricia's defenses were mostly coal. Could he really be any worse than Caldwell? Same with Indy...could it really get any worse? They used to be relatively White-friendly (and had success), but have spent the last several years trying to prove they aren't "racist" or thinking that blackening the roster would get them over-the-top and a ticket to the Super Bowl, when just the opposite has happened.
