Olson hit number 19 last night, game number 50. Should be interesting to see what OF/1B's Hoskins and Olson do next year when given an entire season. I believe Hoskins has Mark McGwire HR potential with a better average to go along with his power.

Olson more 4HR's in the last 4 days, hit HR number 23 last night in his 55th game and only 176AB's. And not lost is Cody Bellinger, probably the Dodgers ROY has hit 38 HR's this season as a 21 year old. Bellinger, Rhys Hoskins and Matt Olson star 1B men of the future! Look forward to seeing them again next season as well as in this years playoffs.

Bryce Harper, who has been sidelined since suffering a bone bruise in his knee on Aug. 12, played catch and walked up and down a few rows of stairs at Marlins Park before the Nationals’ 2-1 win on Tuesday. Then he went and got his hair done.
Never afraid to try something new when it comes to his style, Harper posted a photo of himself with cornrows on his Instagram story. If he keeps it, Harper’s new look could make his post-home run hair flips a little more difficult.

Olson has a total of 15 homers in the last 21 contests going into today's game. Unreal!

I originally was picking the Nationals, but with their injury issues, I'm thinking the Dodgers may have a shot, especially with Kershaw back and healthy again. I am glad to hear you are well! I agree with your assessment although Cleveland could be a headache in the playoffs. They were very close last yr. I would love to see my Cubs repeat.

It was on this date in 1998, the Orioles' last home game that season, that Cal Ripken decided to end his consecutive games played streak at 2,632. Cal breaking Lou Gehrig's legendary record of 2,130 in 1995 is one of my favorite baseball memories. The home crowd gave him a 22 minute standing ovation, which must be a record in and of itself.

Gehrig's streak had always been at or near the top of lists of "unbreakable baseball records." It was an incredible achievement by Cal, the greatest ironman of all time. The record becomes official at about the 13:50 mark of this video.

Advice: It was his fourth grand slam of the season. Lou Gehrig had a four-homer game in 1932 and four grand slams in 1934, but Gennett is the only player in MLB history to pull off the feat in the same season. Imagine putting Gennett and Gehrig in the same sentence back in March. The surprise slugger is batting .297/.345/.548 with 27 homers and 93 RBI over 133 games this season.

Happy for Gennett was always impressed by him when he was in Milwaukee! He was pushed out for Dominicans with higher upside but Lil Scooter belts out 27 homers this season for bottom dweller Cincinnati . Stellar power for the average sized 2nd baseman, yet nary a peep from the MSM. We seriously need to start our own highlights show. Who's winning the lottery first?!

Thank you ks5000. Love that kind of information. Trout has 288 PA's in 65 games thus far, for an average of 4.431/game....and the Angels have moved him to 2nd in the batting order since coming back. That should help somewhat. Ordinarily, I wouldn't like this, but if it gets him enough PA's, I'm all for it. I think he has a chance. He'll be fresher at seasons end, because of the games missed due to the injury, whereas Altuve along with others will be a little more fatigued.

BTW, Trout closing in 1,000 hits (997) and 200 HR's (189). He would have easily reached these if not for the injury and other as well such as, 700 Runs, 200 Doubles and 2,000 Total bases. He will reach 1,000 hits in the next few games and has a real shot at 200 doubles and 200 HR's!

Mike Trout has now officially qualified with enough PA's to lead the league in three major categories! He leads in OBP .444, SLG .618, and OPS 1.062. However, it looks like he'll fall short of 100 runs in his 6th consecutive season. He has 87 with seven games to go. He has reached 1,000 hits at 1,035, 687 runs, 200 doubles, 40 triples, and 197 HR's. If not for the injury, he would have went over 200 HR's, 2,000 total bases and 700 runs. At only 25 years old. He will also be number 2 in WAR at age 25, behind the great Ty Cobb.

The Rockies are starting 7 of 9 White players. That includes Nolan Arenado, who could be part mestizo. The Diamondbacks are starting 7 of 9 Whites as well. That includes J.D. Martinez who appears to be a White hispanic. Both starting pitchers are talented White athletes, Jon Gray and Zach Greinke.
