I don't live close to Boston (two and a half plus hours) but close enough to pick up their sports channels that feature the Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins. I wanted to watch their morning sports talk show this morning and you could tell the guys were sick of talking about this whole Adam Jones "incident" and wanted to move on. They also said that people in Boston are hyper aware of racial stuff so they are extra sensitive to it and the radio guy said he has to run a big giant filter through his head before he discusses race because people will pounce if he "slips" up in the slightest way.
But let us take the worst case scenario. Yes over thirty or more people got kicked out that night for rowdy and or unruly behavior. And let us take Adam Jones at his word and that one maybe two people hurled racial insults. And they got kicked out because that behavior is not acceptable. So why did this turn into a "Boston" is racist media swirl? And keep in mind as I write this there is no proof beyond Adam Jones's accusation that anyone said anything racially insensitive and as each day passes more and more people are wondering if Jones made this up. He does have a history though and that should not be ignored even though at the moment he is being treated as some sort of hero.
But as far as Boston yes in the past going way back there was a large swath of racism against blacks. That Boston no longer exists. Even though Mass is a liberal state they have elected Republican Governors like Mitt Romney. In 2006 though a young black Democrat Deval Patrick won in a landslide. In Boston he carried 75% of the Boston vote (mainly white) including hardcore white neighborhoods like South Boston and West Roxbury with a 3 to 1 ratio! Patrick easily won his second term in 2010 once again going over 70% in Boston and over a whopping 80% in Cambridge which is a white suburb of Boston. Harvard is in Cambridge.
I set a very high bar on what constitutes white racism and what people think in private has no bearing on me. If they act on "racial" stuff then that is a whole different matter. The point is this. No true white racist would ever vote for a black man especially the highest office in a state. And when you think about it this country elected a black man not once but twice to the highest office in the land yet over the past 8 plus years the racism talk in the media has increased ten fold. A lot of that has to do with the tone Obama and his Attorney General set which only fueled the flames. And it is used as a weapon for political gain. But the real truth can be found in the numbers and Boston is not racist in the least. Case closed.

Mike Trout has hit in 17 straight games, however, he's nursing a sore groin. He missed a game 2 night ago, but played last night going 1-4. Hopefully he's OK.
Bryce Harper has missed the last two games with a groin injury.

Another young player on the rise, is Mets leadoff hitter, Michael Conforto. He's hitting .351 with 7 HR's and 18 RBI. OBP 1.101.
Also, 21 year old Dodger 1B, Cody Bellinger hit 2 homeruns last night and hitting .342.

Cody Bellinger is one of those guys that could turn out scary good. As for the Adam Jones saga which is still whistling (are we surprised?) The New York Times just published a big piece on it by former player Doug Glanville and it is like all the other attempts by the media to make this half ass tale some sort of important sign post story. The New York Times sports department has been struggling of late but the good news is there are men out there that still have balls. Curt Schilling went right after Adam Jones and he along with a few other Boston sports personalities are not buying Jones's story. In this country if you accuse someone of a wrongdoing you need proof. Innocent until proven guilty. So until I see any shred of real proof I declare Jones a liar and fire starter.

I'm getting the impression that even most liberals are secretly thinking it's time to MoveOn.org from this Adam Jones non-story, but the New York Slimes won't let it die a natural death.

Ugh! Both Harper and Trout out of the lineup tonight! Harper has now missed 3 games and this is Trout's 2nd.

Went and saw Tim Tebow play last sat. night. Just my luck he was dh that nite. He went 0 for 3 for the night and finish the night batting .238. He looks more fluid and not as stiff as i thought he would. Maybe he can move up. I hope so.

I'll probably watch him play in September. I'd love to see him make the bigs.

I don't follow baseball or demographics of it too closely, but damn this Rockies team might be one of the whitest non hockey team photos I've seen in a while! They have 2 token black coaches in the front and just a handful of non whites who happen to be pretty fair skinned (Senzatela, Carlos Gonzalez, Ian Desmond, Nolan Arenado). The optics are shocking compared to say the Yankees. And speaking of them does anyone else think that the new media darling Aaron Judge looks like Sloth from the Goonies? Lol

Isn't Aaron Judge white?

EDIT: I googled him. He appeared white on television with his hat on but when he takes the hat off, he looks to have coarse, kinky hair. I assumed he was white because they showed his parents in the crowd, but as it turns out he was adopted by them and they aren't biologically related.

Cody Bellinger hit another HR tonight - he is alot of fun to watch. I have caught the last three Dodgers games and they are a fun team to watch - Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager, Chris Taylor, Joc Pederson, Justin Turner and Chase Utley all playing. I wish they would dump the overrated Puig though.

Mike Trout hit his 9th HR last night. He went 0-4 Thursday night that ended a 17 game hitting streak after being out with a hamstring injury. Would have like to have seen if he could have extended his streak if not for the injury.

Trout still has a .336/.424/.681 line, and he hasn't been caught stealing yet this season (5 stolen bases so far).

Trout hits his 3rd HR,(11th) in 3 days, going deep today in his first AB off of Verlander! Harper (12th) and Turner with HR's today as well!

The Detroit Tigers have gotten much whiter in the last couple of years. Recently they had a line-up with 8 out of 9 players white. Not so long ago they were full of black outfielders, guys like Tory Hunter, Austin Jackson, Justin Upton, Cameron Maybin. And an infield full of hispanic players. Not anymore. The regular catcher is James McCann, Ian Kinsler is the 2nd baseman, Nick Castellanos is at 3rd. The platoon CF is Andrew Romine and Tyler Collins. Jim Adducci was the regular right fielder but is injured and JD Martinez is back-a white guy with a hispanic name. The pitching staff is nearly all white guys, closer Frankie Rodriguez recently lost his spot to Justin Wilson. Looking better in Detroit.

I am reluctant to bring up a guy like Brett Gardner because historically he has run hot and cold but after an early season collision knocked him off course for a few weeks he has really heated up and his average is now .289 and he has hit 7 home runs in the past couple of weeks. I have always like Gardner a hell of a lot. He is not by any stretch a "star" player but he represents what we so badly need here at caste : a speedy player who has become a solid everyday player. The biggest downer is that after playing CF early in his career he was moved over to LF and has pretty much settled there. Early in his career coming out of a smaller Division One school most thought he was a career back up and white speedsters have always been held back long past their due date in baseball but he made some nice noise his second year in 2009 and went on to have two really good years in 2010 and 2011. His speed was noted as he stole 47 bases in 2010 and led the AL with 49 stolen bases in 2011. He then missed most of 2012 with an injury. He has never fully regained that form he had in 2010 and 2011 but has been a solid player just the same and quite popular with Yankee fans for his hustle and grit. He did lead the AL in triples with 10 in 2013 and he got off to such a hot start in 2015 he was named to his first All Star game. Unfortunately injuries mounted that year and he slipped badly during the second half of the season. Last season he won his first Gold Glove for his stellar defense which has been a staple of his play throughout the years. I just like rooting for him and here is hoping Brett sticks around for several more years and perhaps he can keep this hot string going. I have a pretty good perspective because I get all of the Yankee games on TV and radio. When he hits a Home Run the infamous Yankee radio announcer John Sterling says "Gardy goes Yardy." He kind of reminds me with his career trajectory of Brady Anderson although Brett will never hit 50 Home Runs like Brady did one year out of the blue. So just my mini tribute to Gardner. Go Gardy go!!!

I wish I was still in a fantasy baseball league. It kept me on top of the players, but since the league folded a few years ago I've really lost track of who's who. Baseball was my favorite sport for most of my life but my interest now is low.

The Braves young star first baseman Freddie Freeman hit another homerun today, tying for the MLB lead with 14. Freeman's putting together a potential career year which is quite impressive considering the lack of protection in the Atlanta lineup.

When I think of Freeman, I can't help but recall Jason Heyward. Both players were brought up from the minors in the same season but one received a ton of hype. I'll leave you to guess which player. In fact the hype surrounding Heyward became so absurd that the fake sports media began comparing him to Hank Aaron. Fast forward to the current year and Freeman is the cornerstone of the Braves while Heyward is a mediocre player on his 3rd team. However, you'd never know by Heyward's paycheck as he's massively overpaid.

I've been wanting to post more about Freeman, just haven't had the time lately. Thanks Freethinker. I've mentioned before that Freeman's stats are better than Jim Thome's at this point in his career and Thome went on to hit over 600 HR's.

Freeman is out for 10 weeks now - probably won't be back until August. He was hit by a pitch and fractured his wrist. In the same game Kevin Pillar called a Braves pitcher a f_ggot and has been suspended two games by the MLB. Also, in that game Jose Bautista displayed that supposed Latino emotion again that BSPN just drivels over and says is good for the game which it is not. He hit a HR and proceeded to stare down the pitcher and than do an obnoxious bat flip. Luckily white Braves 2B Jace Peterson gave him a talking to as did catcher Kurt Suzuki. Bautista is a real annoying presence in baseball and I have no doubt that he did do PEDs when you look at his career numbers.
