Here are your starting Spartans for the 2017 campaign. Since 2005, the Spartans have had 7, 5, 7, 10, 10, 10, 12, 8, 9, 8, 8, and 10 white starters. In a slight reversal of the direction most of the country's teams are headed, the Spartans have another slight uptick to 11 this year. Sophomore gunslinger Brian Lewarke has really impressed Mark Dantonio, and was won the starting QB job going away. This is another reversal of what we've seen around the country, with black QBs seeming to be unseating a lot of white QBs in battles this year. Lewarke has bucked that trend, and has good size at 6'3, 213. I'm hoping he plays good, as if he doesn't there's two black QBs right behind him, a freshman and a senior, who DWFs will definitely be clamoring for if Lewarke isn't perfect. At center, Brian Allen is an all-American candidate, and should be in the NFL next year.
The Spartans' defense has some white talent abounding on it as well. By now, you've heard that stud LB Jon Reschke was kicked off the team in the spring for referring to his cheating girlfriend as a "n**** lover." This of course greatly upset his teammates, who voted to kick him off the squad. Maybe he should've just beat up his girlfriend like so many black NFL and college players are keen to do. He'd have been welcomed back with open arms. Or sexually assaulting her, which would've just got him suspended like it did for three of his black teammates this year. However, saying that "forbidden word" is much, much worse than beating a woman up or sexually assaulting her if you care about your career as a white player. In another controversy, Michigan State has received heat for having both of it's permanent captains be white players, Brian Allen and Chris Frey. This, despite a majority black team voting for them, is unacceptable in today's society, although Dantonio quickly denounced those ridiculous allegations.
Anyways, there's an abundance of talent of the defensive side of the ball, starting with DT Mike Panasiuk, who was one of the few bright spots on this team last year. In an upset, Michigan State started two former walk-on DEs, Kenny Willekes and Dillon Alexander, in their season opener!! MLB Joe Bachie will also be a good one, and senior captain Chris Frey will provide some great leadership. Expect ball-hawking safeties Grayson Miller and Matt Morrissey to play well this year.
Some back-ups to look for: TE Noah Davis, LT Dennis Finley, G/C Matt Allen (Brian's brother), C Matt Garrick, G Kevin Jarvis, RT Noah Listermann, DL Jacub Panasiuk (Mike's brother), MLB Byron Bullough, and S Matt Morrissey
Offense
QB - Brian Lewarke
FB - Collin Lucas
TE - Matt Sokol
LT - Cole Chewins
C - Brian Allen
RG - David Beedle
RT - Luke Campbell
Defense
DE - Kenny Willekes
DT - Mike Panasiuk
DE - Dillon Alexander
SAM LB - Chris Frey
MLB - Joe Bachie
FS - Matt Morrissey
