Checking the Latest HS recruiting services it may seem like White DB's are almost a dying breed & completely ignored...but there are always a few studs. Seems more & more athletes are going to Baseball ...Mississippi's All Time Leader in HS Interceptions ...Denver McQuary happens to be a Pitcher instead for Mississippi State. (that's just one example of many); how much is LaCrosse a factor(see Nate Ebner & Chris Hogan/WR)??

Though White DB's on NFL Rosters probably make up for less than 10% ...Harrison Smith & Eric Weddle are arguably the Top 2 Safeties...Chris Conte is a solid safety (much maligned by dwf's ) & small school players like Jeff Heath are Under-the-Radar

There are some quality young heavy hitting DB's coming thru the college ranks in 17' that have potential to be future High NFL Draft picks. (Weddle can't play forever)..but most are not Seniors yet...The 17' Draft was highly disappointing w only one white DB selected Nate Gerry (5th Round/Eagles) & they are moving him to LBer...the Hybrid DB/LB is starting an uptick

Chase Hansen (Jr.) 6'-3" 220....Utah..ex QB..(John Lynch) ..One of PAC 12's Best Safeties; led team in Tackles...Hybrid??
Chase-Hansen-Washington.jpg

Andrew Wingard (Jr.) 6'-1" 209 Wyoming ....NFL written all over him(broke hand in Spring)

Tanner Muse (Soph.) 6'-2" 220 Clemson .....Tremendous upside/Baseball player

Brandon Snyder (Jr.) 6'-1" 214 Iowa....Another Heavy Hitter/ Tore ACL in Spring..17'season in doubt..Big time NFL potential

Parker Baldwin (Jr.) 6'-2" 215 San Diego State.... another ex QB..turned Thumper; One to Watch

Will be sure to add to the List soon....

Last year was a deep year at DB for our guys relatively speaking. I am sure once we get into the write ups we will discover some more white DBs.

Awesome! Love these college player threads! Talented DB class as usual for us despite our athletes competing against all odds with rigged recruiting system.

Do we count Taylor Rapp? From what I've heard his dad is white and mom is Chinese.

looks like the only reason he didn't go FBS was weight

Welcome to the board ECH. Not to be rude but maybe Giles did not go to an FBS school for another reason? He looks like a white guy. Welcome nonetheless.

If he was black FBS coaches would have brought their daughters, a bag full of nikes, and a new car down to Royse City and held a press conference calling him a "good kid", "with tremendous upside", "and a first year starter".

Even more evidence of the caste system. As 22 posted Iowa safety Brandon Snyder and as good as he is he is still not on scholarship. How many black players for any D1 team that start are not on scholarship? If any one can find just ONE I will not believe it. Well maybe.

I like it right out of the box newbie ECHO hits a CB bulls eye. Keep this up and you will be Mayor of this town in no time flat.
And I say welcome as well.

I had almost forgotten about Coltin Gerhart and last I heard, ASU was going to put him at Safety, so I thought I might have a post about him at that position in this thread. However, his stint at ASU didn't work out. He's since transferred to New Mexico University with two years of eligibility left (what a waste). However, being the obviously smart White man that he is, he's already graduated and will attend graduate school.

Bob Davies is trying him at RB, first.

Nick Gesualdi- (SR) 6'0" 202 Cornell. Led the IVY League with 6 INTS and that was 3rd nationally while only playing 10 games. Also added 81 tackles.

Robbie Grimsley- (JR) 6'0" 195 North Dakota State. 2nd on the team in tackles with 84 and also had 5 interceptions, which was second in the conference.

You aren't kidding. I saw in the article, Nebraska, Penn State, and Wisconsin also contacted Gerhart. Why not play at one of those schools and potentially play in big games. Another dumb school decision from a white athlete; I can't say I'm surprised.

From what I understand after reading the article is that weather was his main concern regarding the Big Ten Schools. He also made a comment saying he prefers UNMs triple option. Obviously doesn't have his eyes set on the next level if he chose to attend a school with Davies as head coach and a gimmick system.
