Back to the European Championships. Max Hess of Germany became the youngest triple jump champion in the history
of the Euro Champs at only 19 years of age. This kid has some serious talent. I hope that this is only the beginning of a long
and successful career. He has all the tools to suceed. Congrats to Max Hess on his gold medal.

Very disappointed with the men's 5000m, it turned into an African sweep. I have no idea what Rupp's strategy was. 41 year old Bernard Lagat, are kidding me?

And who is the Devon Allen kid? He appears to be a bit of a mystery meat.

Devon Allen hugged his family after the race. No "mystery" that I could see.
Dafne is a babe.
Hortelano is a champion.
Rooney is a champion.
Sheesh. Some of you guys can't appreciate anything.

And in some unreported good news, HUGE new doping revelations from Kenya. Video evidence of doping all over the top Kenyan camp. Testimony that a Kenyan Olympic gold was a doper, too. Following last week's arrest of two top Kenyan running agents, as of yesterday two Kenyan doctors connected to the top athletes were arrested. You can add that to the mega news of the top Moroccan coach getting arrested a couple of weeks ago.

If law enforcement moves fast enough, we could soon finally be rid of the decades long scourge of Kenyan and Moroccan PED-based domination.

Also, expect to see some great results in Europe today. And for the sprint-obsessed, Prandini isn't just shooting to make the team. Remember, she is defending US champ.

A great 42.04 on a slow track - Nederlands women 4x100 win. Looks well drilled and well trained under Rana Reider's keen eye and could win a bronze in Rio.

And Julien Watrin, who we talked about years ago, led out the Belgian 4x400 beautifully before the baton passed to Borlee, Borlee and, finally, Borlee for a great win.
3.01.10 on a slow track. They may well be into the high 2.50s by Rio

I loved how the british commentator excitedly says "the dutch are getting run down" when the anchor was actually pulling away from the British and the Germans then he quickly realized his mistake and says the dutch are holding and pull away by a clear margin lol He was obviously expecting the dutch anchor to get caught by the afflete from Britain he could contain his bias... I normally enjoy this dude's commentating but have started to notice his bias towards british affletes over white British athletes...

What the hell is SRR doing commentating on the US Olympic trials? She sounds like she is giving a canned guided tour. Very interesting how they have 2 British guys as their top commentators with Bolden and SRR doing some sprint side commentating. Who is the black dude doing trackside interviews? He is terrible!

Greg Rutherford is tied for 20th best on the all-time list for the outdoor long jump. Why would you every say he is the 118 top performer other than to discredit him?? Maybe his 8.51 mark was the 118th top performance achieved at a track and field meet, but we already know that Carl Lewis, to date, was a better long jumper. You dont need to add all 29 of Carl's better marks to the list in order to accurately describe Greg's rank amongst the top jumpers. 118 is not indicative of his place at all. Based on mark achieved only he is the 20th top jumper of all-time outdoors. period. Lewis, Powell, Emmiyan, Myricks, Phillips, Saladino and Predoso hold almost all of the above 117 marks. That's 7 guys. What the hell???

I agree with trackster and texas flash. I've been saying this for years. Let's support these men and women athletes. Greg
Rutherford has ice in in his veins. He alwasy performs at his best when the pressure is the highest at all of the major
championships. He has won gold medals against the worlds best long jumpers time after time. What more can you ask?

Same thing with D. Schippers. She is the defending silver medalist in the 100 at last years world champs where she also won the gold medal over 200 meters! She wins almost every diamond league race and now she won euro champs gold over 100. Then she leads the Danish Team to another gold in record time. Amazing sprinter and she is at her best when it counts the most.

I root for all of our atheletes whether they succeed at the highest level or not. Just to make it to their level in any of these sports is incredible. Let's root on all of these special men & women.

What a race. Congrats to Jenna for holding on. Felix is a very gifted sprinter and she is very hard to beat.

Well, at least Jenna made it through. Bad news about Devon because people will attribute his speed to his black genes. Oh well.

I don't think that Rutherford never having gotten to 28 feet is "negative." It's just a fact. We have to face the reality that recent jumpers have gone 28-29 feet, and until he does it, people aren't going to get that excited about him. Dombrowski did 28 feet way back in 1980. I hope Greg can still do it.

Amazing race even though her time was not near her best under rainy slightly cold conditions. Her dive at the end was accidental and she was actually stumbled off of her foot, fortunate she didn't blow an Achilles. Based on Cunliffe's times and conditioning before her injury she would have made both 100m and 200m finals, most likely making it in top 3 for 100 and possibly top 3 in the 200m but alas it was not meant to be for this year. Huddle is a beast as well Simpson, Rowbury, Blankenship all looked great at distance, love to see white women dominate in distance as well as PV. Great job.

I know most here don't follow Canadian track but here are a couple of women's 400mh times for the Olympic Trials run in chilly weather, both are white hurdlers

As long as Jenna sticks with track full time, I think she will peak in 2 years and really show how good she can be.

Ps White Lightening was asking when was the last time a White American made a national team for the sprint hurdles. I think it was 64'. Blaine Lindgren lost in a tight race for gold and settled for silver, he was edged out by an American teammate. Back then the US used to routinely go 1,2,3 .

Glad to see Blankenship hold off that Mexican vermin Manzano for 3rd place in the 1500m final. That's the same guy who wrapped himself around a Mexican flag after he won the silver in London, good see he's off the team.

Euro women's 800--Ukrainian woman wins
Euro men's 1500--the less well known Ingrebritsen beats his older brother Henrik, et al, for the championship
Euro women's 1500--Cichoka wins
Euro Women's 4 by 400--Diamond, Doyle, and Bundy-Davies lead GBR to victory
Euro Mens's 4 by 400--3 Borlees and Julien Watrin lead Belgium to victory

And those are just from the last day or so.

In watching the Euro women's 4x400m relay I must say the 3rd leg runner for Britain (Doyle) put this race away for Britain, she got the baton with a 3 stride lead and destroyed the rest f the field leaving a shambles in her wake...well done! Bundy-Davies finished it off with a strong anchor run.

Is it just me or are white female 400m/800m and 1500m runners a pleasure to watch, so graceful yet strong and for the most part lean muscled and extremely feminine.

Semenya wins DL Monaco 800m. He/she won easily beating a stellar field with no effort. Guess that is what happens when you have more testosterone than the other women in the race. Ludlow was a distant 5th even running a PB. It looks like Semenya is growing drug induced boobs now to make a more feminine look. The only positive thing I will say is he/she is a very good sport after the race, congratulating/hugging the other competitors. No showboating like most affletes...

Carine Horn (SA) did well. Coming into some form and a potential sub 11 in Rio with excellent conditions if her next month preparation goes as planned.
