Since 2007, Oregon has started 6, 9, 10, 10, 9, 9, 5, 8 and 8 white starters. In 2016 they are projected to start 6 as this team trends downward.

Dakota Prukop should be the starting QB but since he is not black the media is not hyping him up and handing him the starting job like they did when they hyped up Vernon Adams last year. Hopefully he wins the job and plays well.


Players to look out for include TE Evan Bayis, LB Danny Mattingly who appear on the two deep depth chart.

He is only a true freshman but last year he was the state of Oregon's top rated prospect so maybe safety Brady Breeze will get on the 2 deep or even start sometime this season.

I hate to disagree here, but I don't think Allen is even close to half black. They've been showing his dad a lot at the Olympics, and the guy looks white at first glance; he even looks like he has blue/green eyes, definitely not dark brown eyes. If you look close, you can tell he's a little black, but it doesn't look like much.

Allen is a quadroon at worst, most likely a octaroon. Unless the media shows his dad every snap with the caption "he's black I tell you!" the DWFs will think Allen is a cracka. Just wait until draft time and you'll know the answer. I bet he gets the Tyler Gaffney treatment. Many posters here thought that Gaffney was perceived as mixed, but on draft day his lack of melanin drove him way down the board.

CB Brenden Schooler is listed on the 2 deep depth chart for Oregon. He is still listed as a WR on the Oregon site however. He is a true freshman!

Another True Freshman Justin Herbert appears as the backup to Dakota Prukop!

Redshirt freshmen DT Drayton Carlberg also appears on the two deep.

Nice find Leonardfan! Like that 2 Deep Depth Chart...just glancing Ducks Roster he's listed at WR...Nice to see Schooler make the switch!

Will be interesting to see how much early playing time two Freshman Safeties Brady Breeze & Ronnie Rust (both from same HS in Portland) might get?

OLB Cody Carriger was listed 1st Team by Sporting News...but no where to be found on that two-deep..wonder if he's injured?

I just read up on Carriger and he was moved to DE. The Ducks are transitioning to a 4-3 defense.

Looking forward to see what Prukop can do as well.

Looks like Brady Aiello is now listed as starting LT, replacing the sumo who is out for the year. OTOH, mostly white receiver Allen is also out for the year.

It sounds like Prukop is going to be benched in favor of true freshman Justin Herbert. This is a bittersweet move as I was hoping Prukop would be able to lead Oregon to a strong season and parlay it into an elevated draft stock for himself.

Justin Herbert garnered a ton of buzz in the off season and he may be the next big Oregon QB prospect. Let's hope he is able to take this opportunity and capitalize on it.

Apparently, Brenden Schooler might be the new starter at safety. He's listed as starter on the Ourlads website, though one article I read said that he was starting due to an athletes injury. Situation to keep an eye on, and it helps make Oregon one step closer to likeable. Of course we'd like him to be starter at corner, but in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

He has actually been pretty good stat wise. The defense is giving up points and they lost Devon Allen and none of the upside laden WRs have done anything of note. I also think that helfrich is running the exact same system as he has in years past rather than adjusting it to his current roster strengths. They have a solid running game and are deep at the Te position but still run that same spread scheme rather than going to a more tight
End heavy offense. Their offense also operates at such a quick pace it makes the defense stay on the field for so many
More snaps.

Yea I mean he should still play some, they may juggle QBs and I think based upon his individual performance at Oregon as well as the rest of his career at Montana St. should get him a combine invite and one of the bowl games (east-west or senior bowl). I have caught parts of most of Oregon's games so far and they did not call many QB runs for him which is bizarre because he is a good running QB.

I am excited to see what Herbert can do though because he looks to be the future of the position. The last time their was an established white QB at Oregon was Kellen Clemens and before that Joey Harrington.

Herbert is legit than Prukop, he played several sports in high school, maybe not a Seth Russell type QB (dual-threat? he run like a bull, check how Boyd hit him and still had a good game),future starter.
Schooler is playing well now, what a surprise (if you check how many already injured in their team.)
