Briles Drops Defamation Lawsuit

Cannon told the station he was sorry the issue didn't get resolved "for all the Baylor people, so they could know the truth." If the allegations against Briles are true, and his dropping of his suit along with the other recent revelations about him make it likely they are, he deserves no "peace" for the rest of his life. Rather than peace he needs a long stint in prison, preferably as Jerry Sandusky's cellmate.

I'm not totally against bringing in marginal college material to play football, but what I am really against is the egalitarian nonsense, a toy poodle is a fighting pit bull kind of junk.

I would hazard a guess that the average white college kid wants little to do with the football team outside of watching them play, and a little truth telling rhetoric and much of the diversity propaganda is nullified.

Former Wisconsin and USF redshirt junior S Austin Hudson transferred to Oregon State as a graduate.

A two-star prospect in Wisconsin’s 2014 recruiting class, Hudson transferred to USF after one season. He appeared in 11 games for the Bulls in 2016 after sitting out 2015. Hudson will graduate in May from USF, making him eligible to play immediately. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

I am pretty sure this has not been reported here but Arizona State linebacker, Nick Ralston, who came to ASU as a running back but switched back actually carried the call 32 times last year for a 4.2 average and 2 td's. I remember for a fact that he was moved to LB last summer and just gave up on him. Good to see one more guy.

Dakota Diessner the immensely talented rb coming out of hs that went to Air Force wound up at a JC for 3 years in NE Oklahoma A and M. He Transferred to Central Oklahoma for 2016. He was moved to Strong Safety. Despite the fact he only weighs 190 #'s he is listed running a 4.47 forty, 38 inch vertical, and a blazing quick 3.89 shuttle. That looks like elite D1 corner material to me. But hey a white guy running 4.47 really is a 4.7 to the drunk white fan. Wow strong safety on some backwater college when you were clearly one of the top rb/athletes in your class in the country. Sometimes I wonder if this is all a dream. As I said, it boggles the mind.

He was mentioned here the Week he rushed for 54 yards vs Oregon...yes it was good to see. But looked for him vs Arizona & didn't get any carries. Hoping to see another Mike Alstott old school type bull at 6'-1" 240

Hugh Freeze in big trouble at New Miss. That is what happens when you recruit undeserving blacks. Hopefully it does not impact QB Shea Patterson as he is primed to torch the SEC like Johnny Football did.

Fox Sports' Stewart Mandel writes that Ole Miss HC Hugh Freeze "most certainly won’t" survive his program’s ongoing scandal.

The NCAA charged Ole Miss with a lack of institutional control along with 21 total allegations. Among them, giving a former recruit access to two boosters who provided "between $13,000 and $15,600" in impermissible cash benefits. As for Freeze, he's been charged with violating "head coach responsibility legislation." To this point, Chancellor Jeff Vitter and AD Ross Bjork have stuck by him. Though Freeze continues to maintain his innocence, it seems to be only a matter of time before his bosses reverse course and hit the reset button.

Just saw that Baker Mayfield was arrested:

Oklahoma redshirt senior QB Baker Mayfield was arrested in Arkansas and charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and fleeing early on Saturday morning.

Per a police report obtained by ESPN, an officer was flagged down regarding an assault and battery accusation at around 2:30 a.m. Mayfield was on the scene and said that he was trying to break up the altercation. He was told to stay (in order to take a statement), at which point he began to yell profanities. When Mayfield was asked to come over to give the statement, he began to walk away, then began to sprint away before the officer tackled him. Mayfield was reportedly showing difficulty in walking down stairs, had slurred speech and his clothing was covered in food. The star quarterback was eventually handcuffed. He is set to appear in court on April 7. In a statement, Oklahoma said, "We are aware of the matter and are learning the details." This past season, Mayfield threw for 3,965 yards and posted a 40/8 TD/INT ratio.

Sounds like he was being a drunk, college aged idiot. I wonder if Stoops is going to be as lenient with him as he was with white woman puncher Joe Mixon.

Very disappointing judgement, especially for a (White) redshirt Senior that's in the spotlight. I wouldn't be surprised if his "profanities" were in support of some afflete that was involved in the altercation. He needs to grow up. It will be telling to see how Stoops handles this situation in comparison to Mixon's transgression.

So Mayfield was publicly drunk and breaking up a fight and an officer didn't like his language.. OK I really wish I grew up in a different time. What happened to boys will be boys? Back in the day men would duke it out and cops weren't hell bent on arrests(which really equals more $$). My parents said cops used to dump out liquor at parties now they issue $1400 tickets for underage drinking. Maybe I'm getting sidetracked but c'mon police state is ridiculous in this country.

A while back I posted about three WR's who looked like future stars before everything took a turn for the worse. ILL Mike Dudek is coming back from two ACL tears and Trey Quinn will start all over again for SMU this go around.
Bo Hines had a terrific freshman season for NC State a few years back but since he transferred to Yale he has faced numerous setbacks with his collarbone and a lingering shoulder problem he had as far back as NC State. He wants to be a politician. a Republican Lite type from what I can gather but he has the option of playing two more seasons at Yale and he has not given up on an NFL dream. He is healthy going into the season so lets hope Bo has a big season. I think he will. This is my neck of the woods so I will be able to report back weekly.

Bo Hines has a ton of underutilized talent. He was the North Carolina State 200 meter champion and 100 meter runner up. NC State never used him as a deep threat. Either has Yale when he was not injured. Yale has another stud receiver in Ross Drwal who was a big time recruit out of Nebraska. I don't know how Yale could not win the Ivy League with this kind of talent at wr.
