When you consider the future using ESPN, Hudl, Rivals and Scout as our guides pick a class 2016 or 2017 and beyond you see these lists of lets say top wideouts and I scroll through and see maybe one or two maybe in the top 100 or so and usually a reference is made to lack of speed. From youth sports through college the coaches and staffs just do not believe white people can friggen run.
I am not joking when I say this but in the not too distant future if this trend does not turn around kids will be reading textbooks describing how white athletes are lacking in speed etc.. and that in general the black race is superior in speed and overall athleticism. White men will still be considered men but it will be qualified. Blacks will represent the true masculine image. It won't end there. There will be talk about perhaps blacks are possibly gods and that white men are closer in athletic ability to black women than black men.
Whites will probably be allowed to kick footballs and some line play and maybe a TE or LB every once in a while but that will be it. They will not be playing d- backs or wideouts or running backs. White kids will be encouraged not to run at an early age.
The nightmare is settling in. Next post I'll try and pick out the few good things about this draft but it won't be easy. It will be like trying to decipher the charm of satan.
Shadowlight, yes it's a nightmare, pun intended. You have to remember most of the reports of speed both black and white are embellished especially on Rivals and Scout. Players and parents can put just about what they want to on either.
For example: you might see a 40 time reported on rivals of say a 4.4 when in fact their 40 speed is like 4.6, 4.7 or higher. Trust me I know. I went through the recruiting process with my son and people lie!
To get a more accurate time, type in the players name and then ESPN. They usually report their NIKE Combine 40, which is laser timed sort of?
The ESPN time is generally a tenth or two higher than what's reported on Rivals, because again, you can report anything on their Rivals page. I tried to be as accurate as possible. My son ran as low as 4.49 hand timed, but ran 4.65, I believe at the NIKE Combine his sophomore year, 15 years old.
The biggest problem I saw during the whole recruiting process was white participation. I've said this on CF so many times, white parents have to get their kids more involved and active if they want results.
Running track with a team and coach who know what they're doing helps!
At most of the combines their was always a couple of white kids they really stood out and even won the whole thing with their numbers. My son won some local combines and a kid named Braxton Berrios who is now at Miami was a beast at the southeast regional combine which is probably the toughest in the country. He was named the combine MVP over a 90% black field.
Combines like, NIKE, NUC, etc, are a great way to get exposure, but it's not the only way.
The white kids can compete and win. There just need to be more participation.
I agree with you to some degree.
