2015 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Since 2005, the Yellow Jackets have had 6, 6, 7, 5, 6, 3, 7, 6, 4, and 6 white starters. Looks like a little step back this year; down to five white starters. The only redeeming factor about this team is that Australian DT Adam Gotsis will likely be drafted next year. True freshman Quade Weimerskirch was slated to be Tech's starting B-Back, but is out for the year with a broken foot. Hopefully, freshman A-Back Nate Cottrell will be able to crack the rotation. Backups: QB Tim Byerly, LT Trey Klock, C Andrew Marshall, and RT Jake Stickler. No reason to pay attention to the Ramblin' Wreck this year, like most years we've been tracking them.

Georgia Tech is super weird in that they hardly ever have any white starters, but they usually have some white RBs or WRs. There was a walk on rb behind Laskey last year who had a couple of big runs, anyone remember his name?

I hope Gostis has a good season and builds up his draft stock. He was talked about pretty glowingly in any of the ga tech games I watched last year. The only other reason is to watch that Cotrell kid if he gets a shot.

Amazingly, it looks like Tech will be starting 3 times as many whites on defense than they will on offense, with former walk-on LB Chase Alford starting at the ILB spot.

Thanks, Vanilla. I saw his name, but I assumed he was black. Not many white true freshman get to start, let alone at WR for an always very black Tech team.

 

[Deadlift]

Brant Mitchell, an athletic and smart LB, had 36 tackles and 2 INTs (1 returned for a 32-yd TD) -- last season. Was a true frosh and heavily-recruited out of high school.
