I couldn't find more comprehensive coverage of the results of the NFL Veterans combine. Overall it wasn't at all something that would help many of our players. The running back times are hilarious though. Felix Jones runs in the 4.8 range now after running a 4.4 at his combine in like 2008. Their is a list of some of the other RBs as well - running in the 4.8s/4.9s. It really exposes the caste system which is good for us. It provides evidence from the source how quickly the so called super affletes supposed superiority deteriorates very quickly.
I heard Carriker threw up 40 225lb BPs and Tyler Wilson generated some positive buzz with his workout. Carriker is a beast, has been more of a victim of injuries impacting his career than anything else. I think he should make a team.
The media also trying to make the whole Michael Sam gay story popular again since he was in attendance and had a mediocre workout.
The NFL Network had an hour-long show about the Veterans Combine yesterday, and reading between the lines it must have been painful to watch -- and that's not even referring to the network's renewal of last season's intense love affair with the super-slow, "tight-hipped," as Solomon Wilcots called him, Michael Sam. I did catch the part that focused on the RBs. Felix Jones was interviewed and he looks about 40 years old and his 40 times were somewhere in the 4.8s. Michael Bush was even slower and looked pathetic in the clip they showed of him doing a cutting drill.
Both Wilcots and Daniel Jeremiah agreed that Mikel Leshoure or however his name is spelled, was the most impressive running back. Wilcots specifically mentioned Leshoure's "speed" even though he ran a 4.6 something. If Leshoure was the speedburner of the group, you can imagine what the others looked like.
