I can't find this posted anywhere but South Africa's Wade Van Neikirk formerly a 100 meter runner ran a 44.38 400 meters several weeks ago. He is only 22. It will be nice to see Pavel Maslak have some company with the world's elite.

I got a chance to watch Devon Allen's USA championship race. He hit 6 of the first 8 hurdles knocking over 4 of them. That would slow most hurdlers down significantly. This kid is going to be something special in the near future. He should break 13 flat next year if football does not impede his progress.
He has a very Dutch name, but he is black or half-black.
Meanwhile, Maslak has disappeared for awhile now. I wonder if he's injured...

Thanks for the update Jack. I thought I remembered seeing pictures of him 3 or 4 years ago when he was a junior sprinter and I always assumed he was white. Much to my chagrin.

Great news guys. Michael Tumi will be back in action this weekend. Finally after battling injuries for the last year.
Back on track Michael Tumi. The sprinter from Vicenza, bronze Euroindoor of Gothenburg, chose the track Swiss La Chaux-de-Fonds, Sunday, July 6, 2014 for his debut in the 100 meters. The Italian record holder in the 60 meters indoor not competing since Aug. 18, when he ran the first leg of the 4x100 batteries in the World Cup in Moscow: a fourth place in 38.49, eighth place in the list ever for the Italian quartet blue. His season began with a brilliant course in 10:19 Gavardo - and continued with a 10:29 and a 10:27 at the Golden Gala meeting in Turin - ended there, preceded by renunciation to get on track in the individual of the World Championships. Then some muscle problems have also deleted from the agenda of the 24-year old indoor season 2014. Now the bearer of the Golden Flame is ready, after a long absence, to return to racing. The "Resisprint" will be his first step towards the Italian Championships in Rovereto (18-20 July). Also in La Chaux-de-Fonds also take to the track workout buddy Enrico Demonte (Golden Flame), but engaged in the 200-meter race here last year in 20:45.

For those of you who didn't watch the meet, Christophe Lemaitre took 3rd place today running 20.11 over 200 meters. It was his first race back from injuries. I'm very happy with the time.
S.Shubenkov took 2nd in the 110 hurdles running a seasons best time of 13.13 seconds. Not too far off his p.b. Happy to see him rounding
into form as the season continues. I want to see Shubenkov break the magical 13 second mark. Only 15 hurdlers in history ever have!

It's been a while since I've seen a good sprinter out of Finland. This 20 year old has potential as he ran a 10.30 wind legal recently. Here is a link to pics of this blonde bullet. His name is Eetu Rantala. Yes you heard the name right. Hope he continues to impress.

Lorenzo Biilotti of Italy is another young sprinter I'm watching along with a few from Germany and other countries. Lorenzo reminds me a little bit of Michael Tumi although he has a ways to go to get to his level. Bilotti has a p.b. so far in the 10.30's. Hope he continues to improve.
10.04 (1.6w) for Gemili in the heats of a meet in Germany.
But for some reason he choose not to run in the finals. :/
I wish he had gone for the sub-10 in the finals. I think there's no time like the present when it comes to the sprints! We've seen lots of guys on the brink of big performances fade the next season. So I'm a little disappointed with this.

Patrick Domogala who is only 21 looked good today. He finished 2nd in the finals on a wet track. The wind a little too strong which is a shame or he would have run a new personal best. I like how he faced Ndure who is a very talented sprinter who has been to Olympics and World Champs and did not back down. He is slowly taking baby steps in the right direction. He looked alot better than Polkowski out of the two young german sprinters. I'm hoping at least one if not both of these young guys can break through.

I was glad to see one of my favorite female sprinters look good today. I love Verena Sailer. She is amazing. The main thing I would like to see her do before she retires is to to sub 11. She has come so close the last couple of years.

2014 World Junior Championships
with all the excitement surrounding this summer's World Cup, perhaps the upcoming (in less than two weeks) World Junior Championships of track and field have been overlooked. there are several White athletes who are poised to do well.
though i will only mention a bare handful of names, perhaps the more knowledgable posters can give us a more comprehensive build up …
the USA are HUGE favorites in the short sprints thanks to negroes Travyon Bromell and Trentavis Friday (amazingly, neither of those are typos). Bromell is the only junior in the world who has run a sub-10 100-meters, and he has run several 10.0x's this summer. Friday has also run a 10.0x 100 and several 20.3x 200-meters.
Australia's Josh Clarke is the fastest White junior in the world, to my knowledge, running a 10.34. he's tied for #21 overall.
South Africa's Jon Seeliger has posted the fastest White junior 200-meters in the world, posting a 21.71. that's good enough for #14 overall. Seeliger also has the fastest White time in the 400-meters, 46.25, which is #17 overall.
just behind him in the 400 is Norway's Karsten Warholm with a 46.31, which is good enough for #18.
Great Britain's Elliot Rutter has the #21 time in the world in the 400, posting a 46.39.

speaking of Great Britain, strangely enough in a nation that embraces the multi-culti, 4 of their 6 sprinters at the Championships are White, including both their 200-meter men (Thomas Somers and Chris Stone) and both their 400-meter men (Jack Crosby and Elliot Rutter).

There is a two day meet in Glasgow this weekend which starts tommorow. There are some big names there but I'm anxious to see if Richard Kilty can get back on track. He needs a sub 10.15 time for his confidence. It's been a long season for the kid but I'm hoping he has a few more fast races under his belt. Would really love to see him break his p.b. from last summer. If not this weekend then sometime soon.
10.50 from Tumi yesterday and 10.52 from last week. He's got a long way to go still . . . hope he can come back to form soon. But looks like he's a non-factor this season.

But track doesn't begin and end with sprints. Pretty much the only excitement building for the juniors centers around the 1500 meter darlings Alexa Ephraimson and Elise Cranny as well as Mary Cain in the 3000. Track fans talk about them a LOT more than Usain Bolt. I'm dying to see what they can do against the twenty-something "juniors" from Africa.

An amazing day for sprinter/heptathlete Dafne Schippers.
She won the 100m B race in a National Record 11.03 (+0.9), A few hours later she won the 200m in a NR time of 22.34 (+0.2).
She beat some of the biggest names in women's sprinting in both races, including Allyson Felix. She is definitely the top European sprinter now, and she is not even a full time sprinter!
Plus, I believe she is only 21 or 22 yrs. old.

Incredible performances with so little wind. Dafne Schippers is a star. She needs to give up the hepathalon and train strictly for the sprints. She could be a potential medalist at the world champs or olympics someday. I want to see video of both of these races if anyone finds a link. Would also like to see a link to Lemaitre winning the French Champs 100 meters today. Thanks if anyone finds these clips before me.:rockon:
