2014 NFL Season Week 7

1st down Hillis! I read a dwf's comment that Hillis was too slow and why not give more snaps to Cox. Hillis is 250 pounds and moves fast for his size.

Hillis is a matchup nightmare. He almost never goes down on first contact. Great first down reception by him.

"That's an old fashioned fullback right there." Thanks, Jon. He's actually a tailback back though, might want to do some fact checking before you commentate.

Hillis has played very well tonight. Hopefully the Giants can appreciate his pass blocking and pass catching ability as no other RB they have can do either.

10 days ago out coaching high school ballers and tending to his 100 acre soybean farm. Tonight starring on MNF! Great story and glad to see Payton showing the NFL and DWFs that he still belongs in the league.

It's great to see Hillis' skills being utilized but am I the only one that thinks he looks a step slower?

These are the less than average announcers we have nowadays. Pat Summurall(sp) is turning over in the grave. Sorry Pat...

So the DWF excuse for Freeman is he has yet to learn the offense but I thought the Vikings offense consisted of nothing more than handing off to Adrian Peterson.

He does but he also doesn't look as toned as he was in 2010. I'm sure he'll be fine in a couple of weeks.

Got to remember that he has not practiced or worked out at full speed or against players in weeks. High schoolers can only do so much. Man, I hope he settles into a big role in NY. the DWFs of NY seem to be excited about Hillis play thus far.

This good night by Hillis redeems the other not so good news this week. They are going to have to use him more going forward. He's done a good job running/receiving/blocking.

Yep, that's part of the double-standard nonsense the talking heads do when talking about Ponder or anybody else that's not their "guy". Then they make excuses for someone like Freeman who was let go for who knows how many reasons. It sure wasn't because of his "upside"...

Announcers are in full damage control mode. Making excuse after excuse for Freeman. HE DOESN'T KNOW THE OFFENSE.

Recall that in 2007, the Panthers signed a geriatric Vinny Testaverde off the street, had less than a week to learn their system, started that week and won the game. There is no excuse.

"Freeman has the ability to make big plays" 5 seconds later he overthrows a wide open receiver in the redzone.

For a league that is so pass happy, it's curious the number of white guys out there in the "3rd down" back role that have to sit on the bench until a "passing down" when you need your RB to be able to do supposedly fundamental things like catching and blocking. Maybe if you left them in the entire game you would have those options on every single play, and wouldn't have to stop your offense's momentum and sub players out any time you want access to the other half of your playbook.

Woodhead and Hillis are perfect examples of their offenses functioning better as a whole when they are in the game.

Yes and they blathered on about how great Freeman was and now they are wailing about how bad the Viking offense is. How does that make sense. They are also pulling all kinds of stupid excuses out, that the receivers have to get used to how he throws the ball, how he can make up for "little mistakes" with big plays, as he misses guys down field by 5 yards.

Right now Freeman himself believes he sucks. The last series of him at QB was pitiful.

Once Hillis gets his game legs and lungs that "lost" step will come back. As well knowing the playbook better will equal "dat upside" for Hillis. Good night for him and a bit of an upper for the black quarterbacks success the past week.

Freeman has been awful and Hillis has done a number of good things. It's been a terrible display of "professional" football, but it couldn't have gone much better from a CF perspective.
