BYU is better than they played last night. Even without Hill, they're good enough on both offense and, especially, defense to beat that mediocre UCF team. Gotta blame loss of confidence for that one.

Might go against the numbers, but I'm pulling for a Wazzu win tonight against Stanford.

Riddlewire - I am kind of cheering a little more for Wazzu tonight as well. Halliday needs to have a strong senior season to boost up his draft stock.

Cristian Mccaffrey with a nice 24 yard run in the first quarter. His day is now over. I actually want Stanford to win, because unlike Washington State, Stanford has a realistic chance to be a top team. Currently the top ten is almost all caste teams. Washington State actually has a worse defense than Texas A&M last year.

Yea if Stanford wins I won't be disappointed. I just want Halliday to perform well - he is being totally overlooked on the national scene as a QB. Stanford blew a huge chance last week to be a top team by not beating the caste filled Notre Dame zulus.

Christian McCaffrey nearly with the spectacular diving catch for the TD that was just over-thrown...Stanford will be extra fun to watch as his playing time continues to increase as a true feshman. The announcers can't quit alking about him; how he needs more opportunity bec he's a Big Time player! Great all-purpose back!

Stanford DB Zach Hoffpauir has been flying all over the field & D-Lineman Henry Anderson is a stud!

River Cracraft with 9 receptions for 68 yards in the 1st Half...

Stanford's secondary was a question mark early in the season, but an unlikely energy source has emerged … the Cardinal defensive backfield is now fueled by Hoffpauir.

until the past few weeks, junior free safety Zach Hoffpauir was known most as a big hitter with speed on the Cardinal baseball team, where he hit .325 for 7 home runs and 35 RBIs as a sophomore.

he had shown flashes of playmaking ability on the gridiron, but only in limited opportunities as a White Special Teams Demon and spot duty as a nickel corner. but since he was inserted into the starting lineup against the Washington Huskies, Hoffpauir has shown that he's still a big hitter in centerfield. only this time his helmet has a face mask. and his ability to make plays on the ball in the air is still very much in effect.

in just 3 games as a starter, Hoffpauir has 15 solo tackles (21 total), 2 tackles-for-loss, and a team-high 4 pass break-ups. he has terrific closing speed and a nose for the ball. perhaps his 15-tackle, 2 pass break-up performance against Washington State was the emergence of a premier player.

Hoffpauir was a beast last night - he has flashed big time in the games I have watched (Washington, ND and Wash St). The sky is the limit for him. A great two sport athlete who won't get any of the praise of a black player.

You should see Georgia Tailback Brendan Douglas 15 yard TD run on the highlight reels later today... as he shows his leaping ability doing a flip into the end-zone!

Thanks again Jimmy C for the excellent breakdown! Actually thought another DB for Stanford... Dallas Lloyd could be one to watch as he switched positions...if he ever gets the opportunity...he could shine as well!

Thru 3 qtrs. of play...TE Nick O'Leary 7 rec 77 yds..TD
& WR Jaxon Shipley 8 for 93...

I don't think TCU will lose another game this season. If Baylor hadn't won, we probably would've ended up with a TCU-Mississippi State national championship.
Great performance by Petty and Baylor.

Franklin continues his terrible coaching causing psu another loss. I don't understand how he was handed one of the best qbs in the country and has managed to create a mediocre offense. They can't blame the oline much longer. Play calling can be adjusted to compensate for any weaknesses yet he continues to run his garbage offense.

Petty has his heisman moment and should now be the front runner.

damn pretty quiet in here today. Used to fill up alot more pages previous seasons, at least it seems like. Not many games could really hold my interest. I tried to watch Illinois vs Wisconsin. Dudek had 4 catches for 59 yards

Yea this week has been slow. We usually get 4 pages in the weekly thread.

There just weren't any compelling stories or matchups this week. And no elite performances by any players I care about, other than Petty.

Yesterday was a depressing reminder that major college football features teams with 10 or 11 blacks on defense, 95% of WR and RB are black, and now half or more of the QBs are black. The Texas/OU game had zero whites on defense, a couple of White tight ends and o-lineman, one white receiver and one white QB. That is 6/44 starters. It has crossed the line of unwatchable for me.

College football does seem alot more black than the NFL for sure. Saw most the A and M game and very unimpressed with Kenny Hill seems so overrated, they started talking about how they were one of the best offenses in the country and they had only scored 14 points midway through fourth quarter when they said it, doesn't seem like a top offense to me.

Bryce Petty and Baylors offense is a proper offense, he is the real deal could of catapulted himself towards the Heisman with that performance yesterday! 6TDs awesome stuff by him.

Jaxon Shipley played well this week 9 recs for 115 yards.

Bo Wallace seem's to be flying hopefully performs a Blake Bortles rise up the draft :)

Yea its depressing for sure. It does look like their are still alot of white QBs being recruited though. This has been discussed quite a bit actually. It seems like a core group of teams are recruiting black QBs only - none of these QBs ever goes onto have a successful NFL career. Off the top of my head teams like UCLA, TCU and Washington should swing back over to white QBs in the next couple seasons.

Pretty much all of the overhyped black quarterbacks have fizzled out - Kenny Hill, Marshall, Hundley, Winston have all been exposed IMO. Guys like Petty, Connor Cook, Shane Carden and Bo Wallace are rising now and should all re-enter the heisman conversation.

I do also feel that slight inroads are being made into skill positions. There are more white WRs than in years past.

Not sure how this guy slipped through the cracks, but there's another white receiver in the country to root for.
6'3" 214lbs JR WR Jesse Kroll of Central Michigan.
On Saturday he caught a game-high 6 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown in CMU's victory over Northern Illinois.
He's the team's leading receiver with 25 catches for 386 yards and 4 touchdowns on the year.
He was hurt last year and played sparingly his Redshirt Freshman season. CMU has played well thus far and has already completed the difficult part of their schedule. He should finish the year with very good numbers.

Take a look at Georgia's personnel on that play. Nine lunchpail-carriers in the game. The OL, TE, QB, TB, WR. At one point they had TEN! That looks very weird in an SEC game these days. Hell, that would have looked weird 30 years ago.

I went to youtube to check the highlight out and ran across some Douglas' highlights from last year where he literally takes his shoulder pad and puts it in the grill of some black safety from Florida. Pretty impressive.:icon_tongue: Needless to say he knocked the dude onto his ass.
