Dirk Nowitzki, 27,318 career pts., has passed Elvin Hayes, 27,313, for 8th place on the all time scoring list! Nowitzki has 10 points and 7 rebounds through 3 quarters.

Next up, Moses Malone 27,409. Really can't wait for him to pass Malone. Malone was notorious for making fun of Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics.

Thanks for the update on that C S. Dirk is great! One of my all-time favs especially since I've come to understand the caste system TOTALLY stacked against guys like him. He should pass Malone also within a week, easy. That'll be great, and the Caste racists will be seething underneath it all.

Dirk Nowitzki another big night last evening, pouring in 30 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. He's now at 27,352 points, 58 from passing Moses alone for 7th all time. Nowitzki also closing in on 10,000 rebounds. He's at 9,768. He should get number 10,000 before the season ends. 28,000 pts. and 10,000 rebounds will put him in some rare company should he finish the season strong.

Nowitzki, DAL. 30/5
Parsons, DAL. 26/5
Dragic, PHX. 24
Love, CLE. 20/10
Aldrich, NYK. 12/19
Kaman, POR. 13/9

Even though I usually root for the Suns I have to say that the New Orleans Pelicans have become a team to watch as well. Out of the 9 players who got minutes last night, 4 of them were white guys. Davis is a superstar but our guys really contribute at every level of this team. Osik and Anderson are both very good players and they have Babbit and Fredette too. I'm really happy Jimmer Fredette seems to have found a home. He played 22 minutes last night and had 9 points and 4 assists. Those numbers would go dramatically higher with more minutes but it's good to see the kid playing. Too many years wasting away on the bench. If you guys haven't watched a Pelicans Game yet, check them out. Here is a box score from last night to show the minutes on their roster from the game against the Suns.

22 minutes for Fredette is definitely an anomaly. He usually gets DNP or a couple of garbage minutes. He's the 4th guard behind Jrue Holliday, Tyreke Evans and Austin Rivers. Realistically, he needs one of these guys to get injured. Rivers is also in his 4th season, but has always gotten consistent 20 min per game, despite being a colossal bust and showing no signs of improvement.

Fredette, 20+ minutes tonight and 14 points....

Ginobili, SAS. 26/7
Redick, LAC. 20
Anderson, NOP. 18
Olynyk, BOS. 15/4/3...

also, I meant to mention this last night, but didn't get around to it. Brook Lopez came back and started for Brooklyn and took 21 shots and scored 29 points, probably a career best, he was averaging only 16 pts/game. Meanwhile Mason Plumlee averaging around 18/10 since becoming a starter in Lopez's absence only got off 4 shots and scored 4 pts.

I wonder if Plumlee will ever get a chance to become a consistent starter for Brooklyn much less any other NBA team?

last night...

Hayward, UT. 26
Dragic, PHX. 22
Belinelli, SAS. 18/4
Gasol, MEM. 17/9/5
Nowitzki, DAL. 13/8
Kanter, UT. 14/12

also... David Lee came back for the Golden State and scored 13 points. He's been missed this year in the top scorers and rebounders. I'm afraid Lee has lost his starting job though!

This year has been kind of a downer compared to last season. Lee and Spencer Hawes were among the top rebounders last year and are no where to be found at this time. Hawes's trade hasn't helped him minute wise at all and Lee has been hurt.

Kevin Love in the top 2 and 4 in the NBA in scoring and rebounding last season, is barely in the top 10 in rebounding and 34th in scoring at 17 pts./game.

Marc Gasol has been playing well in the top 20 in both scoring (20.1), 18th and rebounding, (8.3), 15th!

Despite being injured for a few games, Nikola Vucevic is playing like an all star, 5th in rebounding, 11.3 and 24th in scoring, 18.1!

Gordon Hayward is averaging a career high 19.2 pts./game, should be avg. at least 25!

There are 7, I believe, white players in the top 40 in scoring and none in the top 10 and 10 in the top 51. I think at times during last season, we had anywhere from 8-10 white players in the top 40.

There are 10/11 white rebounders in the top 40 and 12/13 in the top 50, depending on who you consider white?

Probably the best game of the year for Kevin Love. Anyone can tell that he is not happy there. He only got that many shot opportunities due to all of the injuries. Usually the Cavs play a game of keep a way when every plays. They don't involve him much in the offense and he also struggles on both ends of the floor. Kevin Love is just as good as ever but not being utilized properly. I'm actually happy about this because I hated the trade from day one. I want him to get the hell out of there. The Suns keep pursuing him. I would love a trade there but he will probably end up with the Lakers since Kobe only has a few years left and Love is from Cali. Just get out of Cleveland.

One last thing. If he did go to Phoenix, Dragic to Nash would remind alot of us of Nash to Nowitzki. Also with Love and Plumlee on that front line the Suns would get all the rebounds. It would be a perfect fit.

I am not an avid follower of the NBA but did catch the Celtics "tribute" to Rondo which was pathetic pandering to an overrated selfish me first player. Rondo then admits he hasn't "played defense in years" :

http://espn.go.com/dallas/nba/story...ks-admits-effort-defense-there-recent-seasons

Yet he is lauded and cheered on by the media and DWFs instead of crucified for being a lazy, one way player that is not worthy of his contract. What a freaking joke. This country is so ****ed up and blind to anything the black race does.

I hate the fact that Love went to the Cavs. In Minnesota, he was the unquestioned top guy and was in the top 5 in scoring. Currently he's 34th in the league in points per game. That's a huge drop off and it's because he's the clear second, and sometimes third behind Irving, scoring option on the team. What puzzles me is that they are not even that good at just 5 games above .500 right now. I think he will end up somewhere else next year.

Yeah, with James not playing today, Love scores a season high 30 points. He got 21 FG attempts and made 11. He's only been averaging around 12-13 shots per game...and when you're only hitting 43% and you're the third option, you'll be lucky to average 17-18 points a game. Anyway, a good day for Love, however, the Cavs lost to the Dallas Mavericks.

Nowitzki scores 15 and is now 13 points from passing Moses Malone for 7th all time!

That is the Kevin Love we have grown to love. Not gonna happen with Leclown James on his team. It was a career killing move to go to the Cavs. I know how bad he wants to win but he sold out for this. As soon as everyone is back he will be back to being the team water boy. He will never get to equally contribute like he should. All for what. They are only a little above average. Get out Mr Love as soon as possible.

As for Dirk Nowitzki. It will be another step in the right direction on his career walk towards the hall of fame as one of the greatest basketball players the NBA or World has ever seen. Long live King Nowitzki!

Love finishes with 28/19 but Cleveland loses after Dellavadova misses 2 free throws with 20 seconds left!

Yeah, R44, that stinks for Love losing to the lowly Sixers, 4-28! Also, Nowitzki struggling to pass Moses Malone for 7th on the all time scoring list. He has tied Malone with 12 points, but are in the 4th quarter and he's on the bench after shooting 4-15!

Yes, Nowitzki, 27,412 pts. passes Moses Malone for 7th on the all time scoring list! Now he can set his sights on 6th place Shaquille O'Neal, 28,596 pts., possibly passing him next season.

Thanks to White Lightning for encouraging me to follow Nowitzki's scoring run. I had quit following Nowitzki and most of the NBA until WL's posts about DN moving up the scoring list.

WL's enthusiasm has helped me regain interest in the NBA and it's great white players most of whom are overlooked.

Thanks Carolina Speed. Your knowledge of sports is a great asset to this board and I also consider you a friend. I and we as a board cannot thank you enough for all that you do here. We are similar in age and I think our view are similar too from religion to politics & sports. I'm so pumped about Dirk moving up into the top 7. When I sit here and think of all of the great basketball players over the last 50 plus years it just makes what Dirk did even more incredible. Forgot about the off the court stuff guys. He is a living legend. He also has not gotten into trouble like so many in this thug league get into. Dirk is a role model for young white basketball players. Congrats to him on taking another step into the top 5 players that ever lived.

Right WL. If Nowitzki can average 4.5 rebounds per game over the rest of the season, he will get his 10,000th rebound! Making him 1 of only 7 players in NBA history with over 27,000 pts. and 10,000 rebs.

...and if he can get to 28,000 pts. and 10,000 rebs. this season he will be 1 of only 5 players in NBA history with those stats!

I'm hoping he sticks around long enough to get 30,000 pts., 10,000 rebs. If he does, Dirk Nowitzki will be 1 of only 3 players in NBA history with 30,000 pts., 10,000 rebs., 3,000 assists, 1,000 steals, and 1,000 blocks! The other 2 are Jabbar and Malone.

If he does this he should be considered one of the top 5 players of all time!

A couple of significant trades to report since CF was down. Goran Dragic traded from Phoenix to Miami. Also Phoenix trades Miles Plumlee to Milwaukee.

Denver traded C Timofey Mozgov to Cleveland making the Cavs even whiter. Mozgov will definitely make Cleveland better although he won't get many shots, he'll help them in space and rebound department. He's avg. 10 pts. and 8 rebs and shooting 59%, while only getting 7 shots per game.

I'm sure there were other trades, but those are the ones I'm aware of. Any others?

I was really unhappy with the Suns move. Plumlee showed flashes in his rookie season last year of making developing into an all star. All they have left know is Alex Len. He is good but still very raw. Dragic was crushed as he wanted to finish his career in Phoenix. Who knows though. Maybe he can have a chance to get to the Eastern Finals with the east being a little bit easier although his new teammate Bosh is out for the year. Not sure of any other trades. Mozgov will help Cleveland as and Plumlee with the Bucks assuming he gets the minutes.

On a side note, Mirotic of the Bulls had a career high 29 points two nights ago. He is a real talent.
