Oklahoma started 6 whites last year, 5 in 2011, 7 in 2010, 6 in 2009 and 2008, 5 in 2007 and 2006, and 3 in 2005. They are projected to start 4 this season and have a very black depth chart. They are one of the teams outside of the SEC that is this historically black.

Blake Bell is the only reason to watch this team. He has Tebow like potential as a runner and passer.

Offense
QB - Blake Bell
TE - Brannon Green
C - Gabe Ikard
RG -Bronson Irwin

News just came in that redshirt freshman Trevor Knight has been named the starting QB over Blake Bell. It's too bad for Bell, but Knight is one of those cracka dual-threat QB's that will doubtless outperform all of the "supa affletic" QB's around the country.

I saw that as well FootballDad. Excited to see what Knight can do as a dual threat but was hoping for Blake Bell to get a shot. I wonder if Bell will transfer.

Assuming that Knight keeps the job, it would be best if Bell transferred. I'll bet that about half of the FBS would want to bring him in. He has the potential to be a cross between Ben Roethlisberger and Colin Klein.

Bell has already redshirted and played two years. If he transferred to another D1A school today, he'd have to sit out this season and then he'd have only one year to play as the starting QB (assuming he could win the job at his new location). I think it's best that he stay with the Sooners and hope they keep using him often in the "Belldozer" package. At least then he's building up a consistent body of work at the highest level of competition. Although unlikely, it might be enough to convince an NFL team to take a shot on him as a short yardage QB specialist.
There's also the fact that Knight may, in fact, suck when playing against live competition. That wouldn't be unheard of. King of the practice field, Peasant in games. Bell would quickly win the starting job back and get most of his remaining two years to play at Oklahoma.

Knight

This could end up a good thing he is younger and faster than Bell and the buzz is he will be ultra exciting so not a bad thing and Bell will be in the dugout if needed.

Looks like the Belldozer will be getting the start this week due to an injury to Knight. I hope Bell makes the most of this opportunity.

Just tuned into the Ok Ok st game, and noticed that Bell wasnt in there. The black kid they had in there threw a TERRIBLE pick on his first pass.

Looks like they put Blake Bell late in the game, he threw a td to put them up 27 to 24, the other points were scored by the kicker and a wide receiver throwing a pass, and a punt return, and the defense on that mess up at the end, although they already had the game won by that time, there were 19 seconds left when Bell threw that td to put them in the lead for the upset.

he went 10 of 16 for 140 yards, 1 td 0 int.
