Even after Davis left LA, the SoCal Mexicans still hold onto the Raiders, as an ethnic (f-ck Whitey) franchise. The current Oakland Raiders are pretty caste but are they really much worse then most other teams? Yeah they got a black quarterback now but they have had some honkeys over the years. And the old Raiders weren't caste! PFan.. yeah, there's nothing in my post that was intended to diminish Flores' achievements. I think Flores did a good job.

The point I'm trying to articulate, is that Davis was always uniquely committed to creating a franchise that was distinguished from the traditional, old-school ground game, eastern (White/WASPy) franchises of the NFL. In the 70s & early 80s, the Raiders were good.. but now I think they can't get out from under that faded identity. Re-habbing 'bad-boys' and giving the reins to (supposed underdogs) like Shell & Hue Jackson may have been to their detriment. Becoming the darling of Mestizos & west coast gang-bangers.. beloved by DWFs that dress up like Skeletor.. it seems stupid now, like the discomfort of watching an aging bad boy still try and relive his glory days. • Truth is Pryor has looked pretty good and Flynn is probably overrated. That being said, no doubt the Raiders are racist, McKenzie is a horrible GM and Dennis Allen is a spineless pretty boy. They played Sam McGuffie (who had more yards in his 1st year playing WR at Rice than several WRs drafted had in their 3rd or 4th FBS year) 1:40 seconds all preseason. McGuffie ran a 4.28 electronic at a regional combine and had under a 3.9 short shuttle (Plex Performance http://instagram.c0m/p/V2oiryqxm_/# and -Wikipedia) and looked good on film. They played the ACC all-time leading WR Connor Vernon (a little poorer version of Welker) (yes Welker, Amendola, Woodhead all cut after monster pre-seasons and going undrafted early in their careers- RB Eachus last year and Spadola this year) under 2 mins in the last preseason game ensuring he'd be cut. This was after "coach" Dennis Allen had raved about Connor Vernon as WR MVP of OTAs (just google it) and he looked good in training camp. Whites need not apply to this Affirmative Action far left organization, city and team. Steelers and Bucs are just as bad. Why can't Connor Vernon at least get an audition?

  Gerhart broke the California H.S career rushing record by almost 1,000 yards and only Stanford wanted him at RB, he goes on to win the Doak award (best FBS tailback), but is drafted to be the backup to the best RB in the league. He had 4.9 YPC and a 67 yd run when he got a chance to start a stretch of games, but will ride pine the rest of his career as his career has been destroyed. Yep Peyton Hillis got kicked out of Cleveland for averaging 3.6 YPC in his 2nd year. Trent Richardson averages 3.6 YPC with more weapons on offense, with one of the o-linemen now in his 2nd year instead of 1st and is voted the leagues 71st best player. The Raiders have a problem at quarterback. They had an opportunity to address that problem in the 2013 draft by drafting Matt Barkley. They could have, and should have, drafted him in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounds but they didn't.

Barkley is a good player and could have started right away. He fits their west coast offense. He would have generated fan interest because he played in California. It would have been a perfect fit.

Instead they're stuck with Terrelle Pryor, who's a bad quarterback.

Matt McGloin played well in the preseason and beat out Tyler Wilson.

It's his first start. I think after a few starts there's a good chance he will prove to be better than Pryor.

McGloin played well in scrub time against Philly....His senior year at PSU Bill OBrian was his coach and they basically ran the Patriot offence...IF they can protect him back there and get his recievers spread out he'll do ok.... But he does throw picks if his recievers are bunch or he gets rushed....

Mcgloin played well enough to supplant da afleet pryor. Lets hope the hc is not blind and figures out the offense is better with the rookie. Amazing how so far 2 undrafted qbs in Mcgloin and Keenum have shown the scouts are far from accurate. Hopefully Simms can win the job from smiff soon. Maybe next year with Tuel in buffalo.
