Saw the Pat's cut the black DJ Williams, one of their reserve tight ends today leaving 24 whites (including Vellano and Chris Jones) on the 52 man roster with one open spot. If you count the three poly islanders Hoomanawanui, Siliga and Sopoaga; they have a majority non black squad. I know its not a majority white squad but thought it was worth noting..

Does anyone know the last time there was a majority white squad in the NFL?

With Collie taking that last open roster spot, that means the Patriots have 25 whites, 24 blacks and 3 polys. Wow. Just wow.

That is very good news. There's just no question about it, the Patriots are more white-friendly than any other team by a longshot. It has to be on purpose, and it has to come from the top. Weird, considering the ownership. I know they cut Tebow, but he was a horrible match for their offense, so I think it was cool that they gave him a shot. If they sign Gerhart next year, they will get kicked out of the NFL. :heh:

Yes, more truly stupendous news out of New England! I guess this signing indicates the knee injury that Collie suffered against the Steelers (when he was “rolled up on†during a routine tackle) was very minor.

Aaron Dobson has a foot injury he suffered against Denver, Thompkins has a hip injury he suffered against Houston, and rookie Josh Boyce has barely played this season due to injuries and being a “healthy scratch.†Last week, Boyce returned kickoffs and actually played receiver against the Texans, but he wasn’t effective (he had one target).

Given the injuries to Thompkins/Dobson and Collie’s familiarity with the offensive scheme, New England’s top three receivers this week against Cleveland could be Edelman, Amendola, and Collie. I never thought I’d see something like that in the Caste NFL. However, unless Collie does more to impress, his 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] stint with the Patriots could be short-lived.

From NFL.com

Collie previously landed with the team in October before New England released him to the street last month. He caught three passes over four appearances, showing none of the burst that made him a valuable contributor to Peyton Manning-era Indianapolis Colts. Collie, 28, is a patch for a team with Aaron Dobson battling a foot injury and Kenbrell Thompkins (foot) doubtful for Sunday's game with the Cleveland Browns.

How does one prove their “burst†playing 2-3 snaps per game, primarily from the slot?

I'm just shocked that nfl.com acknowledged that a white player had burst at some point. Granted, it was in the context of saying that he no longer has it, but the clear implication is that he once did. Their filters aren't perfect after all.

Great news guys. Time to throw on the Pats jersey come playoff time. Let' go Collie. Show the nfl that you can still play!

This season NE has tempered my anger at the NFL. I really hope Collie has a notable game this weekend. And regains his form from 2 years ago. Again, BB surely knows how to tinker with the defense and get them to hold offenses for 20 points, not the usually 30 or so, with Brady and offense furiously rallying for a win or maintaining their lead. This will spell disaster in the playoffs and SB if not corrected.

The NFL is measurably less awful to watch than it was for a long stretch there. The Patriots organization has led the way, but there are more White stars now at wide receiver, tight end, and defense than there has been in about 30 years, maybe even since the mid to late 1970s, even though the overall percentage of black players is far higher than it was back then. And perhaps most enjoyably, great White quarterbacks continue to beat back the furious 20-year effort to make QB a black-dominated position.

It hasn't happened because of the NFL but in spite of its Caste System. An ongoing steep decline in the black talent pool combined with a very tough and admirable group of White football players having the ability and determination to beat the odds and rise to the top, is responsible. As has been noted numerous times, today's White players in the NFL are akin to the minority of black stars in football and baseball 50 years ago, with the huge difference of course being that Whites have no media or institutional support and in fact have to deal with ongoing hostile and discriminatory policies most of the dumbed-down population can't even recognize because "Whites are (still) the majority" and because the media bombards them non-stop about "White privilege," "black athletic superiority" and other big lies.

We are getting just a glimpse of what the NFL would like if it -- and college programs and the "recruiting services" -- were fair instead of being key cogs of a larger, society-wide, anti-White agenda.

is the black talent pool really decreasing? or are we finally seeing it for what it is? 12 to 13 percent of the population trying to fare against Whites who have been playing football this entire time and have finally broken through a little bit more at caste positions

I think with the internet and more awareness Whites are getting more exposure, even though many are still getting screwed over, I think its harder to deny their presence, and more are slipping through and getting chances, even if it is a small few compared to our population.

Its easier for White high school players to independently promote themselves by putting out youtube videos etc. I mean even though Sam McGuffie got screwed over in the long run, I don't think he would have been recruited to Michigan and various other schools.

back when it was all black receivers going against all black secondaries, black rbs and tight ends going against mostly black linebackers, in what way could you measure the talent level? Just think about when Brian Urlacher came out, people were amazed, he was a hybrid s/lb in college, and in the Tampa 2, he basically was the same thing, a mlb that lined up a little deeper than usual to cover as well as play the run, he was a force to be reckoned with in the passing game as well as the run and offenses had to rethink of how to exploit it,

imo more White tight ends! and then later on slot receivers and then in turn finding more White players like Urlacher or just hybrid s/lb in general. Thats how it should of played out, we have many versatile guys that can be hybrid players and the game should have evolved to have more of these types on both sides of the ball. We have a few but it hasn't gone like it should have. Cooper Taylor is a big safety that could be a hybrid linebacker/safety sitting on the bench. We have pass rushers that can also drop back and cover runningbacks and tight ends that don't see the field.

I remember some dark years that took my interest away from watching football, at the time I couldn't put my finger on why I wasn't interested in watching it and just playing it, but it wasn't until the 2007 LSU Tigers with Hester and Steltz that I got back into it.

as far as the Patriots defense, whatever happened to Bellicheck being a defensive guru? is he really a coaching genius? (hes great but is he really at the level people think he is) or has he benefited from using, cheap, underrated White players (back when the defense was good they had more White players if I recall on defense, little on offense, and Brady was not putting anywhere near the stats he is now).

Perhaps Kraft is going along with this because it produces wins, he still gets to be cheap, not offering Welker what he deserved, I guess figuring there are a bunch of White slot receivers out there. The guys they have are close in talent level but Welker is on another level imo. Perhaps the mistake was paying Hernandez the big contract.

but the Patriots really changed the league, they were the first to run the spread, 4 receiver sets for a majority of the game. Black dbs struggle playing the nickel, corners are used to using the sideline as a boundary, and the rise of using tight ends more as receivers, although this started a little further back with the Giants back when Sean Payton was the coordinator with Jeremy Shockey. His targets and passing numbers went down after that, but there was Witten and a few others as well. Although with the rise of more pass heavy teams we have seen a decline in the White battering ram fullback. It would make sense to use more White powerbacks like a Zach Line for SMU, have teams spread out with 5 or 6 dbs and have a big guy like that coming at them. The Pats have tried this with Blount but he is non factor in the passing game, which is why they should have picked up Gerhart.

As far as the defense, the corners are going to have to at least cover their guys for at least 2 seconds to allow some pressure and fluster opposing qbs.

Look at the gameplan for Seahawks defense, those corners are like 6'3 with like 4.6+ speed that are physical at the line of scrimmage that disrupt the timing which pretty much every offense relies on. We have tons of guys like that, some playing safety in the league right now like Chris Conte.

Great news for Austin Collie!
And due credit to the Pats for being more independent thinking than most of the league when it comes to wide receivers.
I had thought that they might pick-up Spadola who was cut by the Jets, because he's good and because it would make NY Jets coach Rex Ryan look like an even bigger fool than he already is (is that even possible?!)
Actually I think NE needs some bigger, outside guys who can catch vs. their current butter finger guys.
Brandon Kaufmann, Blair White, Kerry Meier, Kevin Hogan come to mind .... but I'm happy they picked up Collie.

From NESN.com...

This season, Amendola has been the team’s main slot receiver. Out of his snaps in the passing game, 81.9 percent have come in the slot. Edelman has spent 55.5 percent of his time in the slot, Collie 42.2 percent, Boyce 25 percent, Thompkins 15.7 percent and Dobson 14.9 percent, per Pro Football Focus.

So it’s likely, if Thompkins and Dobson can’t go, that we see Edelman and Collie as the outside receivers with Amendola lined up inside. James Develin and Matthew Mulligan will also get plenty of snaps at fullback and tight end and Shane Vereen will continue to split out.

When was the last time that any NFL team's top three options at WR's were white men? Not in my lifetime (nearly 28 years) and possibly never again.

This Sunday against the Browns, New England appears to have 12 whites who could factor into the offensive scheme. A superstar white QB, 5 white OL, 3 white WR's, two white TE's, and a white FB.

I'm certainly not missing this game, as it could be a truly historic victory for our cause! Unfortunately, Cleveland has the 5th best passing defense in the league.

Also, Collie seems thrilled to have been re-signed by this fantastic organization...

"I was crossing my fingers, because I love it here. It’s a great team, great organization, great coaching staff. It's awesome. It was difficult, but it was time that I needed to get healthy, get my knee back, and thankfully I got signed back on when I was healthy. There’s always that possibility [of being re-signed], but nothing was certain. Any time you’re coming off an injury, it takes a little bit of time to get back rolling. At the same time, four weeks isn’t that long of a time, so I think I’m making good progress."

It was doom and gloom around here when Welker was traded. However my suspicion was then that the Pats would remain a relatively white friendly team. After all, they have the best coach in football.

It was somewhat “doom and gloom,” at least by Patriot standards, haha. I'm sure you meant to say "signed with Denver," as Welker wasn't traded.

In the off-season, their 2013 draft was an all-black affair (plus a white punter) and they failed to re-sign Wes Welker, Danny Woodhead, Trevor Scott, Jeremy Ebert, Niko Koutouvides, Spencer Larson, and Jeff Tarpinian. Edelman and Gronkowski were both injured and missed significant time during OTA’s and training camp. Dane Fletcher was returning from a season on IR. After the draft, rookie Josh Boyce was being groomed to replace Welker, likewise with Shane Vereen to replace Woodhead. With the likes of Hernandez, Boyce, Thompkins, Dobson, Vereen, and Ridley, one could certainly envision a far darker offensive unit.

After it was found that the Patriots had a serial murderer (Hernandez) in their midst in June 2013, everything seemed to fall into place and now this team has the first non-black majority roster in the past 25 years of NFL football.

In fair world, the rest of the league would look a little bit similar to the current Patriot roster, and in a really fair world the Patriot roster would be even Whiter.

But, the league has certain agendas in place, and one of those tomes is to keep a bunch of mid-level functioning illiterate Black morons employed and [temporarily] out of prison.

In football you see evidence all over the place that the best White specimen of a certain category of player is always competitive with the best of his Black contemporaries, and in many cases simply superior.

The Patriots are definitely going in the right direction, but I think they're already pushing it as far as holding off the PC police, and it's a pipe dream to think the Steelers would ever wake up and go, "Oh yeah, maybe we could do better if we followed our common sense and hired a bunch of competent White guys to replace a lot of these intransigent, prima donna Black imbeciles..."

Apparently, Josh Boyce was “limpingâ€￾ after the Miami game, which means that New England’s all-white WR corps could continue to flourish with injuries to Thompkins, Dobson, and Boyce. From PatsPulpit.com…

The loss of Boyce forced the Patriots to play with three slot receivers with extraordinarily similar skill sets (Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Austin Collie), and likely prevented the Patriots from being slightly more creative with their red zone play calling late in the game.

This fool writes this despite the fact that Boyce has played poorly as a WR and is the same height (5-11) as Edelman and Amendola, and several inches shorter than Collie. Also, Edelman has played almost exclusively as an outside flanker this season and has been great.

New England sports writer, Hector Longo, has relentlessly dumped on Edelman for years. Some of it was warranted, of course. Way back on September 9[SUP]th[/SUP], Longo wrote this scathing comment about Julian's chances to “deliver against real teams” and remain healthy for the entire season…

Julian Edelman — Enjoy him while you can. If you trust this guy to deliver against real teams, you’re either naive or a huge Pats fan. Great day, maybe his greatest, with 7 catches for 79 yards and two scores.

After a fantastic season of 105 catches, 1,056 yards and 6 TD’s (along with being the NFL’s best punt returner) here are Longo’s reluctant praise today, where he calls Edelman the “Team MVP” and a “Pro-Bowler”…

Julian Edelman — Team MVP. Played in his 16th straight game. Caught nine balls for 65 yards. Once all the real Pro-Bowlers start bowing out of the game, he deserves a call.

Talk about Casteon flip-flopping. Aside from CF members, nobody believed in Edelman. Congrats on a awesome season...

Edelman showed great grit and ability this year. Good write up thrashen! Here's to hoping the Pats realize his value and resign him this off-season like they should have with Wes!

Some re-occurring good news today, Austin Collie, who is being given the Ross Ventrone treatment, has been re-signed while supa Josh Boyce was put on IR. This is excellent news as it probably means that he will stay on the roster for the duration of the Pats playoff run. Maybe we can see the triple-saltine WR with a side of TE formation again.

With this recent roster move, New England has 24 whites, 26 blacks, and 3 Polynesians.

Boyce was placed on IR due to an ankle injury (suffered against the Dolphins) and flanker Aaron Dobson re-injured his foot against the Bills last week and hasn’t practiced. If Dobson can’t play next weekend, the only non-white Patriot receiver will be Thompkins, who has barely even been active in the second half of the season.

For whatever reason, I keep envisioning Collie having a big contribution for the Patriots in a time of great need. I hope I’m right, if only to humiliate “Rabbi” Bob Kravitz (Casteon “Indianapolis Star” journalist), who urged Collie to retire in his countless imbecilic articles. Collie’s last meaningful contributions were a 15 yard catch and a critical 4[SUP]th[/SUP] down catch to set up the winning TD against the Saints…

All signs point to Aaron Dobson missing Saturday’s game against the Colts. From MassLive…

With Dobson yet to practice and wearing a walking boot as recently as Wednesday, there's a good chance that Collie will be given the opportunity to contribute serving as the fourth receiver behind Amendola, Thompkins and Julian Edelman. It will be a nice reunion for Collie, and he looks forward to seeing his former teammates, but his focus is on winning the game.

If there is any justice, Collie reaps vengeance upon the team that drafted him and gave him a chance to play, only to misuse him as a slot receiver (resulting in ghastly concussions) when he was clearly a dominant flanker…then fail to re-sign him in favor of mega-busts such as Darius Hayward-Bey, criminals like DaRick Rodgers, and drug cheats like LaVon Brazill.

Of the three white receivers on New England’s roster, it’s most important that Collie shines in the playoffs. Amendola is signed through 2018, Edelman is likely the team’s top free agent re-signing, and given the young receivers on the roster (Boyce, Thompkins, Dobson), Collie is doubtful to return next season. If he flashes some of his former greatness during the playoffs, it could prolong his career with another team.

In every photo of Collie, he always seems to be hanging around Brady...

I agree with your sentiments.

Let me present an unlikely but remotely possible scenario. If next year, the Patriots were to resign Edelman and bring back Collie into camp, they would join Amendola, T.J. Moe (who was retained through a "medical redshirt" year) and Sam McGuffie (who was signed to the practice squad before seasons end). Couple these guys with Gronkowski and possibly Mulligan, Develin or any other White tight ends or fullbacks brought to camp and the Pats could have the Whitest array of skill players in the modern era.

Seeing how accommodating all these players would be impossible, this would be my "dream scenario". Edelman, now "established", takes big free agent money to become another team's unquestioned #1 or #2 receiver. Preferably this team would have a good White quarterback. Amendola would primarily play in the slot but would often shift to the outside so T.J. Moe, the new "slot man", could get plenty of reps too. Austin Collie, fully healthy, returns to form to play the other outside receiver roll (at least in a rotation with Dobson or Tompkins). Finally, Sam McGuffie would be returned to running back or 3rd down slot back. He could become Danny Woodhead 2.0 which would hopefully spell the end for the "talents" of Ridley or Bolden.

Hey, you never know.

Interestingly, McGuffie's number with the Patriots is # 39.

A subtle dig at the Patriot receiver corps from Don Banks of “Sports Illustrated”…

Link: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nfl/news/20140114/bill-belichick-tom-brady-new-england-patriots/

But add to that the stormy Wes Welker departure in free agency. The ever-so-brief window of Rob Gronkowski's availability. The twin devastating injuries of defensive cogs Vince Wilfork and Jerod Mayo. The on-again, off-again presence in the lineup of starting cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Alfonzo Dennard. The reliance on a modern-day collection of Smurfs at receiver (Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Austin Collie, etc.). The unheralded names and talents who have manned key positions at defensive tackle, offensive line, tight end and fullback. The revolving door situation at running back. The gut-wrenching last-second road losses to the Jets and Panthers, which turned on controversial calls (or non-calls) by the officials.

My email to Mr. Banks…

Greeting Mr. Banks,

In a recent article concerning the Patriots improbable journey to the AFC title game, you referred to Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, and Austin Collie as "Smurfs." Below is a breakdown of the height of these particular Patriot receivers contrasted against the height of the receivers playing for the three other remaining playoff squads. Please compare at your leisure…

The Patriots:
Collie: 6-1
Amendola: 5-11
Edelman: 5-10

The Seahawks:
Harvin: 5-11
Baldwin: 5-10
Tate: 5-10

The 49ers:
Boldin: 6-1
Crabtree: 6-1
Patton: 6-0

The Broncos:
Decker: 6-3
Thomas: 6-3
Welker: 5-9

Interesting, huh? It seems to me that New England has average-sized receivers when paralleled with the remaining playoff teams. In the future, when you select an NFL WR corps for derision, perhaps you’ll select Seattle and their collection of “Smurfs?” Probably not.

That is weird listing Austin Collie a player over 6 feet tall as a "smurf," it's almost like he doesn't know what he's talking about and is just regurgitating common invective that has been hurled at the Patriots receiving corps + rb/wr the last few years when they had Wes Welker and Danny Woodhead. But then again as a professional pundit he has to have some competence and understanding, right?
