Indeed. Great long putt for Scott and then Cabrera answers with a clutch 2nd shot to set up his easy birdie. I'll be pulling for Scott to finally breakthrough and win a major.

Great clutch putt by Scott, who has been known as a kind of poor man's Greg Norman for his failure to win majors when being in contention, only to have Cabrera in the heavy rain hit maybe the greatest approach shot ever on the 18th in the final round. C'mon Adam!

It was probably the greatest stretch run of two golfers I have ever seen. Scott won it more than Cabrera lost it. Total clutch play, also it was nice to see that "Tigergate" had no real influence on the outcome of the tourney as the two strokes would have still left him 2 strokes short of the playoff.

The drama is there every year. You have to go back to when Woods was winning The Masters and still had the intimidation factor to find a less than nerve-wracking finish.

Good to see Australia with all its great golfers through the years exorcise its curse, and great that Scott, who idolizes Greg Norman, was the one to do it.

Year after year, I enjoy The Masters more than any other sporting event. It's also a rare, wonderful slice of the old America that we lost extremely rapidly over the past half century in the way Augusta National runs the event, and the traditions it upholds.

Congrats to Adam Scott! Super exciting golf. Golf really doesn't need Tiger as much as the media keeps saying. Give the public a chance to get to know some other golfers instead of relentlessly focusing on Tiger and golf will be even better.

I wonder if the media will mention Scott's room brightening smile, seeing as he is white and does have one. Somehow I doubt it.

Also, Lindsey Vonn is human garbage. Only with Tiger for the media exposure. I almost feel sorry for Tiger, he is a dupe for dating her.

Another great Masters finish

Very satisfying to see Scott win the play-off. Cabrera was a terrific gentleman. Exciting finish. What a beautiful course and the coverage was Tiger Lite thankfully. I agree 100%, Don, the Masters commitment to tradition and limited advertising is so refreshing. I actually can watch it without my laptop to occupy me during the commercials.

I don't even golf and I love this tournament. Good on ya, Adam.

In between the quality, relatively unbiated analysis provided by Jim Nantz and Vern Lundquist, CBS’s resident fanboy-flavored devotee of “Panthera Tigris,†the ever-pungent Nick Faldo, solemnly uttered a truly classic line during the back nine on Sunday when he said: “Tiger was the King of Golf for so long, he was literally unbeatable…but unfortunately, these other boys are just a few shots better of late.â€

“Boys?†I wonder if Nicky Fagdo would ever dare refer to his lord, savior, idol, hero, and master in such an emasculating manner? How unfortunate for Nick that the media’s habitually-cartoonish, wild, frothing-at-the-mouth “Wooing Tiger to Victory†game reaped nothing but another laughable waste of time. Oh well, at least Faldo still possesses the sacred photograph featured below, undoubtedly perched atop a candle-lit “Alter to Tiger†that graces his mansion, depicting the single most magnificent moment of his wretched existence…

Enough about the “World’s Greatest Serial Adulterer and Choke Artist.†Adam Scott was dazzling on the back nine, particularly the 17[SUP]th[/SUP], 18[SUP]th[/SUP] and the two playoff holes. The white Argentinian, Cabrera, was a true sportsman and gentleman during and after the Masters, and played superbly. Angel was inches away from victory during his chip on the 18[SUP]th[/SUP] and the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] playoff hole, but it was not to be. Hopefully, yesterday's victory was the moment Adam Scott broke through.

It’s nice to know that while Little Baby TiGirl was being comforted by his mammary gland-deficient, wrinkle-laden slut-de-jour, “Lindsey Vonn Afrika,†the two twits were treated to the following imagery of Scott’s brilliant victory (with Tiger’s former caddy, Surly Steve Williams, in the background)…

I was thinking the same thing. Faldo calls adult pro golfers of all ages "boys" quite regularly -- except for one. Faldo has great knowledge of golf but he's such an enthusiastic truckling when it comes to anything and everything "politically correct" that it's sickening. He initially -- shockingly -- advocated that Woods withdraw from the tournament after Tiger's "unintentional" illegal drop but then quickly backtracked. The Masters won't be the same viewing experience after Jim Nantz retires. (Bill Macatee is another good CBS golf announcer that has gravitas and stays away from Caste-ese; he's a breath of fresh air on the Tennis Channel, which is otherwise dominated by feminist amazons like Carillo and Navatrilova.)

The repeated use of the word "guy" when referring to White men is almost as grating as "boy," particularly because there are so many establishment talking heads and writers of both sexes who use it exclusively. The words "man" and "men" have been eradicated from their vocabulary, yet they never refer to women by any other word than "woman" or "women." No imbalance or "sexism" there, move along.

All of the talk I have heard about the tournament has been critical of the idea that Woods should have had to pay any penalty of any sort. The thinking has been along the lines of "do what ever is necessary to win" and that part of sports is "bending" the rules or even cheating if that is what it takes to win. Sad really but not surprising. The whole idea of self regulation and sportsmanship and following the letter of the rules is sooo America 1.0. It's a new world now, and all that old White stuff about rules and taking responsibility for what you do is OVER.

I also heard a guy complaining about Scott's belly putter and how it's an unfair advantage and he should not have been allowed to win with it. The putter is being banned in a few years but right now it's legal. Interesting too that Scott's bagman was the guy Tiger canned which has also been the subject of some conspiracy talk that I have heard on the radio.

I will give Woods credit for playing tough to the end. He could have packed it in after the penalty but continued to play well. He may be mentally tougher then before but of course he is not physically as dominant as he was. People are predicting another Major for him this year. I'm not so sure. It's tough to win those big tournaments and while I think he may win another one I don't see him dominating again. The media is going to have to deal with that as much as they would like to deny it.

I don't know why people would consider it an unfair advantage when anybody can use one. Why don't they ban all these new drivers and go back to persimmon woods too?

How often do these players even hit a four iron into the green?
