With Florida about to win over Minnesota, all four all black starters teams have lost to teams with at least one white starter today. One trend is for some very good teams like Michigan, Ohio State and Kansas to only have one white starter, but for that player to be one of the best players on the team. We may not finish the trend tonite, but its great to see North Carolina, Temple, Minnesota and Iowa State out of there.

We usually agree on most topics, but here I must disagree in a significant way. In my opinion, the son's recruiting practices are very similar to the fathers. And, according to my research, if you go back to Sr's early years at G'Town he was downright white friendly, compared to JT III.

This Lubick character is just a modern day version of Don Kelly, who played the "Kurt Rambis" role in his two years as a starter in the early 1990's. If you can think of any other white "SCHOLARSHIP" players that have played any sort of significant minutes for the son in the last decade please let me know. I don't follow the sport that close, but can't remember any.

Here's a link that tells the story of white players that played for JT Senior. Seems he was reasonably white friendly (like his son was at Princeton), until he recruited an almost illiterate (at the time because he had just arrived in the U.S.) Patrick Ewing at an elite academic school in the early 1980's. It seems after he got the "green light" to recruit one wildly unqualified student athlete, he went full throttle and loaded the team up with these guys, starting around 1984 :

As far as the "goys at the end of the bench", that poster Jack Armstrong mentioned, they are complete jokes 99.9% of the time. I hope people realize these are merely little used non-scholarship walk-ons, who are nothing more than hybrids between practice players, male cheerleaders and water boys. Almost every team has 2 or 3 of these scrubs at the end of the bench, even to this day. Some are merely on the team as a "favor" to a friend or potential business ally. They are so "relevant" that one current Big East school does not even list their 3 white walk-ons at their official site! Here's a good article about G'Town's walk-on's through the years, focusing on Tom Lang (and the race issue at G'Town):

Here are some more articles on this topic:

Georgetown basketball was white and wan (SIC?) before John Thompson came in to recruit blacks and to preach discipline and education: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1124012/1/index.htm

Usually when a new coach takes over a program he has to honour the previous coaches commitments for scholarships. So it takes a 4 year cycle until you see his new style of player. If the school is a football factory or a basketball one the guys that don't fit into the new coaches system the players transfer out of the program. Since Thompson II took over a near dead program I suspect the previous players who had no pro aspirations stayed and graduated. I didn't attempt to portray III as some guy who openly recruited White players, I have just seen a few on his roster and his Princeton squad was majority White. Ps legacy players are quite common in the south. Many are either sons or grandsons of legends or sons or grandsons of top boosters.

Something to cheer about: Florida Gulf Coast looks like they will be the first No. 15 seed to advance to the Sweet 16!! And they are pretty white friendly to boot!!

Gonzaga is probably never going to take that "next step" as a basketball powerhouse because of their small enrollment (<8k). The program's best chance for longevity is to find a partner and sign up for the Pac 12 for basketball only. Such a switch would have been unthinkable just five years ago, but with Butler set to travel from Indiana to play their Big East away games, some kind of conference upgrade is absolutely an option. Of course, that's only if sports are prioritized by the university over common size, academic profile, and in the case of the WCC, religious Christian affiliation.

Without a major conference, Gonzaga will not feature on television, in pre-season tournaments, or on non-conference schedules as prominently as their recruiting opponents, and their players won't acclimate to large, hostile crowds. Obviously, they're a great pro-white team to root for every year, but they shouldn't be expected any more success than reigning mid-major noirs du jour VCU, who will be waiting quite some time to experience another Final Four. Gonzaga is on a tier below Wisconsin/Butler and above Valparaiso/Davidson. They were over-seeded this year, reminiscent of the undefeated St. Joes team in 1998. It's a shame that they fizzled out in the tournament, but despite their high seed, they were pretty close to playing with house money thanks to a thoroughly pedestrian season schedule.

I saw a bit of Jeff Withey's impressive performance tonight, spurring on his four ebony teammates and black bench to victory over North Carolina's stygian starters and sooty supporting cast. Withey was the best and most versatile player on the court, and he picked up offensive responsibilities in the second half to catalyze the Kansas comeback while staying dominant on the glass and reliable at the free throw line.

It occurred to me that once upon a time, some higher-up must have seen a black player excelling in opposite circumstances and had a light bulb go off in his head, "Wow, just imagine if we could field an ENTIRE TEAM of those guys!" I wonder what it would take to get a contemporary elite to dream up such an idea these days (and what it would take for that idea to be implemented).

Good reply, WIR. I think you bring up some salient points, but I just want to point out Thompson III has been the head man at Georgetown since 2004, so he's had more than enough time (almost 10 years) to change the recruiting culture. He hasn't, he's just like Senior, the occasional white scholarship player (once every 5 to 10 years) and the end of the bench filled with worthless walk-ons. Pretty much, these are guys that were not even good enough to play D-3 or NAIA ball?

As far walk-ons being "connected", many times they are. Pat Summit's son was a walk-on for a while at Tennessee. I believe Reece Davis of ESPN claims he was a hoops walk-on at some SEC school.

I actually met and talked to two walk-ons from big time schools. Both told me they only stayed on the roster for only one season. Black guy said he enjoyed it, but simply didn't want to do it anymore because he was paying tuition and wanted to focus on academics....White guy (who was about 5'7") really opened up and talked about how much he hated it -- constantly getting cheap-shots in practice, by his mostly black teammates. Being treated like $hit by his "legendary coach", who used to tell the media how much he "appreciated the walk-ons".

One more note: Was listing to the radio today and caught some of the FGC game....and none other Thompson II was doing the commentary. In a strange twist, he couldn't say enough good things about white PG Brett Comer. At one point, I thought he was going to tell world he wanted to be the kids agent....Kinda of weird that neither him or son would even recruit him?

One bit of good news that I saw today, Minnesota finally fired Tubby Smith, the black supremacist coach of the Black Gophers. Amazing that a team from the great white north of Minnesota can only find street ballas from other cities blighted urban areas to play for them. Apparently there are no white players in the entire state that are better than the bruvas that have been playing for Tubby.

One a team goes all-black, it's hard to sign white players, even if a coach occasionally recruits them. Not many white kids want to be the only white man on a team....

By way of background, Cincinnati's coach, Mick Cronin, is a 100% caste man. In seven seasons, IIRC, he's has no white scholarship players on the roster, a single Pole excepted. Like typical black players, they have no shooting ability, are terrible FT shooters, and play an all-around "affletic" brand of ball.

Anyway, I was watching a late-night sports call-in show last night on the local ABC affiliate. An obviously-black guy called in and said the unimaginable: "I'd like to know when Mick Cronin is going to sign some white players. You know, like McDermott. I don't mean to be racist or nothing, but I just like to see a diverse style of ball."

Amazing.

That's pretty awesome to hear!! Mick Cronin will never sign any white players though. I can not stand that thug of a coach. The final straw for me was when he pretty much gave his players a pass after that Xavier/Cincinnati brawl, including the one who punched Xavier white player Kenny Frease in the face.

Thomspon II claimed he tried to recruit White players and was turned down by them or their parents/guardians. I have noticed that the few that sign on very Black squads are either local stars or full out wiggers. I also think the popularity of basketball isn't strong enough in the White North American community because of the image of the game. Would any middle class parent want their son hanging out with the kind of players Tark the Shark recruited back in the early 90's....:jaw:

Disturbing trend in basketball. A new influx of half-black mulatto players.

Syracuse mulatto players are giving Indiana's coal black and white players trouble. These mullatos have athleticism and brute strength of blacks and the intelligence of White players.

I know this guy is just a troll but makes an interesting point. People have long talked about the "talented tenth", that percentage of black people with enough White genetic material to make them leaders amongst their people. The idea of "hybrid fitness" is also commonly discussed, Steve Sailer for one pimps this idea endlessly. My own experience on it is that White-black mixed people are only as good as the original stock, which means there are a lot of combinations of the "worst" of both peoples.

In a larger sense if there is something "special" about african blackness isn't it being slowly but surely "bred" out of the race? It seems every successful black man mates with a White woman so as this trend continues only the least succesful of black men will be mating with other black women. One can see how that will work out after generations of that type of mate selection. The most famous black man in the world came out of a White women's womb. That's a pretty sad commentary on the state of blackness wouldn't you say?

CBS analyst Doug Gottlieb forced to apologize for "racist" comment:

http://tracking.si.com/2013/03/28/d...ective-comment-cbs-ncaa-tournament/?eref=sihp

What crime did he commit? Apparently, he told the all-black members of the studio crew that he was there to bring some diversity and the white man's perspective into the show during last night's telecast. At best it's a harmless joke, while for those of us at CF, it's actually a pretty valid statement.

In today's Amerika, "whitey" needs to be extremely careful when he opens his mouth these days. Your entire livelihood, career, reputation, etc can be destroyed in an instant thanks to the PC/CM police, as anything you say can and will be used against you, but only if you're White.

Here's the recent cover of SI for March Madness. I don't believe it needs any explanation:

anything you say can and will be used against you, but only if you're White.

Lucky for Gottlieb that he doesn't fit that criterion. There were no "White" men on that panel.

Gottlieb was not so religious as to turn down a scholarship from Notre Dame (before being expelled for stealing credit cards). He was also not so White as to turn down invitations to the Maccabiah Games to represent his ethnicity. He can joke around with tha brothas, but in polite company, he's going to give the Mike Wallace answer.

Funny blurb about Aaron Craft, albeit a year old:

When a reporter asked Craft if he had vices and faults, he replied, “I absolutely do,” before passing the question to two of his teammates — senior guard William Buford and sophomore forward Jared Sullinger.

“He thinks he knows everything, for one,” Buford immediately responded, before leaning over to Craft and joking with him. Sullinger backed Buford up.

“That’s on the court and off the court. As a point guard, you kind of need that on the court, but I mean, he’s always correcting our English and our grammar and all that good stuff,” he said.

While Buford and Sullinger did not go into much detail and kept the comments lighthearted, apparently not wanting to give their teammate too hard of a time, Craft did not deny his teammates’ claims.

In fact, he said he is a stickler for grammar because it will help his teammates when interacting with others in the future, but more simply, because poor grammar is a pet peeve of his.

“I do correct their English because I’m trying to prepare them for a situation where they might be with someone important and they don’t want to have the same mistake there,” Craft said. “And it just bothers me when they use bad English. A lot.”

 Sounds like a reality show I'd enjoy watching
