Clemson @ NC State, only watched like 5 minutes of the game. Boyd overthrew two wide open receivers by a mile that would have netted him massive yardage.

He's better than Murray, Manziel, Mettenberger and McCarron though.

They certainly have been hyping him. At this rate we might get to see him try to lead a come from behind effort.

and Iowa is up 24 to 0 and they give they give the black a carry on the first carry of the drive after an interception and he fumbles it back to him. 2 tds have come from returns or ints? i believe , so I don't think Mark has gotten many carries.

Jake Reddock (qb) has some wheels, not Martinez type wheels but pretty good wheels for a qb.

in the Iowa game, they've scored two touchdowns off long punt returns. the Hawkeyes are truly clicking on all cylinders, as they've scored on offense, special teams, and defense (an int return). underrated safety Tanner Smith has an interception for Iowa (teammate and fellow over-achieving, blue collar, coach on the field John Lowdermilk has been solid, as well).

on the other side of the ball, Western Michigan's almost unknown junior safety Justin Currie is the team's best defensive player.

despite running a 4.4 forty yard dash at 6-foot-2 and 187 pounds and posting a 38-inch vertical jump at the MichiganPreps Combine while at Big Rapids High School in Michigan, Currie was virtually unrecruited. "weird," huh?

despite being on a team that is severely overmatched, Currie has played VERY well against Iowa.

**************************

Michael Campanaro is having another BIG day for Wake Forest. he has a 66-yard touchdown catch-and-run in the first half and already had 91 yards at the break.

**************************

White cornerback Kenny Buyers has looked impressive on the road against #7 Georgia. Buyers has taken away the wide side of the field in the passing game so far, allowing only 2 completions for 16 yards despite his "lack of hip swivel."

i may have spoken too soon about Weisman's 100-yard day. they didn't give him a single carry on the opening possession of the second half, instead giving it to two other backs ... one of whom promptly fumbled. that's two non-Weisman running back fumbles by Iowa backs today, the only blemish in an otherwise completely dominating performance by the Hawkeyes.

the game is such a rout, Iowa may play a bunch of backups from this point forward ...

CB Kenny Buyers has been playing Light's Out! Not bad for ANOTHER former WALK-ON! Just made the tackle on WR Michael Bennett...

TE Arthur Lynch looks like an NFL player....

Props to Derek Carr's 460 yd 4 TD performance last night! Nice Christian dude!

my favorite current running back, South Dakota State's Zach Zenner has touched the ball 5 times against Nebraska in the first quarter ... he has nearly 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. wow!

i wonder how good he'd be if he was a Division I talent ...

on his 7th carry of the day, ZZ Tops surpasses the 100-yard mark (to go with the already-mentioned 2 touchdowns) against the so-called Blackshirts. (maybe they should play more White skins?) he already has a 40-yard run (for a touchdown), a 35-yard carry, and a 15-yard carry. if only he had explosive affleticism! heh.

touchdown for Zach Zwinak in Penn State's home game against Kent State.

also in the Big Ten, Cam McDaniel is getting reps for Notre Dame against Michigan State.

*******************

in additional White running back news, Saylor Lavalli (Central Michigan) had another nice game, albeit in a loss. he totaled 24 carries for 144 yards and 1 touchdown.

Ohio's Beau Blankenship is having another poor outing, 9 carries for 38 yards. he also has 3 catches for 5 yards.

how is it that so many White high school running backs are said to be "too small" to play at the Division I level, yet negro Nick Hill is plenty big to be on scholarship and playing tailback for Michigan State despite being only 5-foot-8, 198-pounds AS A JUNIOR! he's put on over 20 pounds since he joined the team ... so he was given a scholarship to play tailback despite weighing under 180 pounds and being barely tall enough to ride the roller coaster at an amusement park.

nope, there's no double standard at all.

more White running back news ... Turner Petersen having a good day for Rice. in the first half, he's got 4 carries for 12 yards and 3 catches for 93 yards and a touchdown (57 yards).

****************

another long run for Zenner, 17 yards this time. he's currently at 13 carries for 148 yards.

The announcers on the Big Ten Network have actually been complimenting Zenner's speed. He's currently tearing through the Cornhusker's defense again this drive. They just can't stop Zenner. Needless to say, Zenner's affletic replacement some drives is not even close to Zenner's level.

Happy for Zenner but what's with all these damn black quarterbacks on Nebraska? Will they have a blackie too when Martinez is gone next year?

Did anyone see that Minnesota rsFR quarterback Mitch Leidner ran for 151 yards and 4 touchdowns against San Jose State! He's lead the Golden Gophers to a 4-0 mark which is great for a guy so inexperienced.

In the losing effort, David Fales threw for 439 yards and 3 scores BUT had 2 intos as well.

To follow up Jimmy C and his White running back news, criminally underused Kansas runner Brandon Bourbon had 7 receptions for 47 yards but only 2 carries. For the opposition, Louisiana Tech, former running back turned "slot back" Hunter Lee had 4 catches for 30 yards and their only touchdown. As a freshman, Lee stepped in and ran for 650 yards at 4.8 per carry. His reward? Have his role reduced last year and his carries disappear this year. Zero carries and meanwhile the team is a foundering 1-3.

More than likely, yes. You see, at least on the message board I read, Nebraska fans will be very happy to get rid of Martinez and put in Armstrong next year. Hell, some of them are even clamoring for Armstrong to replace Taylor after the 1st half against South Dakota St. There is a small chance that QB Johnny Stanton, who is redshirting this year, could beat him out next year though.

Rutgers junior tight end Tyler Kroft is having a BIG day against my in-state Razorbacks. he currently has game-highs in all receiving categories with 5 catches for 91 yards (long of 33) and 1 touchdown.

******************

talking of Zenner, did anyone else notice the halftime commentary from caste disciple Gerry Retardo, er, DiNardo? he had nary a word of praise for Zach, but instead singled out Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah ... who has roughly half the production. uh, good call Dinardo.

I watched much of that game. Despite the loss, Fales looked fantastic. He's the best looking NFL prospect I've seen since Luck. Leidner has great foot speed and strength. I enjoyed watching him drop his shoulder into the defense on runs rather than sliding down.
