Was I hallucinating or did Georgia have 2 white wide receivers and actually played a white running back (albeit briefly)?

And a white TE who was split out with the two WRs on many plays......sometimes with a white FB blocking for the white RB......with a white QB.....it was too much to behold for someone who has been watching SEC football for a long time.....and they won!

Georgia looked great today.

Happy to see Johnny Football putting on a show tonight. The are up 43-7 early in the 3rd quarter. Manziel just had a 49 yard rushing td for his 2nd running td of the night. There is nothing this kid can't do. Deal with it NFL!!

At times they were looking like the Patriots on offense. Andrews, Lee, Theus, Lynch, Murray, Bennett, McGowan, Douglas all in at once. Hall also played a good bit.

Douglas might get a lot of work next week. Georgia faces Appy State. Gurley is still recovering, and they won't want to risk much with him. We might see Douglas go over the 100 yard mark.

McGowan was a walkon that received NO offers at all, yet he is a productive player in the SEC. Couldn't get an offer from Furman, but can play well for Georgia? Something doesn't add up.

Ol' Rhett's from Calhoun, GA (not far from me)...which also produced former UGA WR Kris Durham. ;-)

I was driving past Calhoun on I-75 when Rhett made the catch on the final drive. I suggested that perhaps we should turn around and drive through Calhoun again! I got outvoted. Women.

If I'm not mistaken, the guy who followed McGowan at Calhoun High is also a walkon at UGA.

It was a pleasant surprise for sure! (Not that they won, but their line up)

Central Michigan, which offers one of the very few White feature tailbacks at the FBS level in Saylor Lavallii, will be playing on ESPN2 at 7:00pm this evening.

if you've not seen Lavallii play, he is an excellent scatback with top-level change of direction skills and burst, though he doesn't have elite top-end speed. he also picks up a lot of yards after contact and is a far more physical (and thus, successful) runner between the tackles than his size (5-foot-9, 213-pounds) would suggest.

Ball State is CMU's heavily-favored opponent. they're led by superb-but-unheralded, pro-style quarterback Keith Wenning, who already owns most of the meaningful passing records in school history, having broken most all the marks set by the properly-hued (and consequently over-hyped in years gone by) Nate Davis. Wenning has thrown 23 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions on the year.

Ball State also features the VERY athletic tight end Zane Fakes. Fakes (6-foot-3, 237-pounds) was a record-setting tailback in high school, where he also qualified for the state track meet in the 400-meter relay. he's a unique talent.

perhaps the Cardinals' best defensive player is their leading tackler, sophomore linebacker Ben Ingle. freshman linebacker Zach Ryan is also amongst the team's elite defenders.

playing on national tv, CMU apparently decided to not feature its dynamic White tailback. instead, they go with their two "explosive" tailblacks whilst only throwing a bone or two to Savallii (at least, so far).

the result? 5 combined carries for the tailblacks for a whopping 10 yards and 1 lost fumble. HAHAHAHA!!! that's what they get, as far as i'm concerned.

meanwhile, Ball State's pocket passer has already thrown for 2 touchdowns in less than 1 quarter of play. Wenning is currently 8 of 10 for 115 yards and the 2 scores. just imagine if he was exciting!

check that. make it THREE touchdown passes for Wenning, just one possession into the second quarter. he's 10 of 12 for 154 yards already.
